My 11 year old daughter had been so excited to ride a Chincoteague Pony. They have specific times of the day to do these rides. The cost was only $7. But she only went in a small circle 2 times and the pony is led by 2 young teenage girls. I'm sure they offer different types of things to do... More

we stopped in and my daughter decided she did not want to ride a pony. they have several ponies fenced in that you can get a chance to pet or get some close up photos. it is really only a gift shop unless you ride a pony or got to an evening show, which we did not. large gift shop... More

Now I'm not a real pony guy but I think this was really cool, had a lot of information, things that I would've never known and I like to learn. I was pretty impressed with the layout the people were very friendly and the horses were too! The ponies look very well-kept the girls worked very hard and the trainer... More

We arrived in Chincoteague and I called an reserved a horse riding lesson (30 mins.) at the center for the following day. I highly recommend you call for reservations. My 7 year old daughter, who has been taking riding lessons for a few months, got to ride the great-great grand-daughter of Misty (Omg!) and was in her "horse heaven". She... More

We took our three year old daughter to get a pony ride at the center (and had to bring her back because she wanted to go again). The staff on hand to help the kids on the pony rides were super friendly, super informative, and really, really good with the kids (even when they were hot and tired... kids and... More

My 11 yo daughter had a great riding lesson on a Chincoteague pony, dream come true after reading Misty of Chincoteague! Her instructor was a member of the Chincoteague drill team - they put on a great show 3 nights a week there. It really made our visit to Chincoteague complete! Highly recommend for anyone

Favorite place on the island (not including the beach). The shop connected to the Pony Centre is huge with so many great gifts and trinkets. We were lucky enough to catch a pony show. It was awesome and amazing. Do not miss this if they have one. It will be worth the couple of dollars it costs to see the... More

We had a great time at the pony show. They engage the audience and give history on the ponies as well. The gift shop offers much about Chincoteague and the ponies, specifically the legendary Misty and her descendants - get the books and read with your kiddos :). They offer pony rides as well as riding lessons and camps. Very... More

On a very hot day I was glad to get in out of the sun, enjoy the cool water fountain and browse in the shop. I notice people reviewing the Pony Centre saying it is just a big gift shop. Well, yes and no. It is the largest gift shop I found on the island however it is home to ponies, a pony show, a small museum and a couple movies to watch, pony rides, riding lessons and camps. Last year we visited to early... More
