We had a great time being driven around to different wineries by Ginny. She was very knowledgeable of the area and set us up with some good vineyards. King Vineyard, Afton Mountain and Septenary (our favrorite). She showed up on time and put on a great lunch for us All for a very affordable price per person. Highly recommended.

Dear Mike, Thank you for the very kind review. And it was good that you rescheduled your tour from December to February out of caution from Covid. It was good to meet you and your wife, and to show you the beautiful vineyards in our area even during winter season. Good wine drinking knows no season. I look forward to your next tour. Don't forget the start of the polo season at King Family Vineyard. By that time new wines will be uncorked, and it will certainly please your palates, and those you want to surprise with wine gifts from the Blue Ridge! Sincerely, GINNY SAUNDERS

I planned a trip with my Fiancé to see Virginia's Wine Country and I stumbled across Virginia's website. I decided to do our Wine Tour with Virginia and it was an unforgettable experience! Virginia has so much knowledge of the nearby vineyards and brings a personal touch to the trip by taking pictures and giving great recommendations. She cooked us a gourmet lunch; the food and display she prepared was 5 Stars. If you plan to visit the Winery's in the Blue Ridge area, you NEED to book your tour with Virginia. She also followed all safety guidelines with COVID-19 and made sure we were safe and social distancing. She will make it as special as possible!

Dear Zac, Thank you very much for the generous review. I truly enjoyed taking you and Jackie to our vineyards and showing off the excellence of our wines and winemakers. It is great that you were not disappointed. The weather cooperated and we were able to visit as many sites as our time allowed. Social distancing did not deter us at all. I also hope you enjoyed the pictures and video of your tour and lunch which I uploaded in two FB pages. These are memories that are fun to reminisce. I look forward to your next visit. Bring your friends and families, and open to them new experiences and leisurely adventures that the Blue Ridge vineyards can offer. Sincerely, Ginny Saunders

I have been on wine tours before including the Napa Valley. They were nice. But as nice as they were they could not compare to the quality of tour provided by Ginny Saunders. Her knowledge of the area, the wineries and more far exceeded anything I had ever experienced on a tour of wineries. Keeping the tour group small was an added bonus.
She was prompt in picking us up at our hotel. The gourmet lunch Ginny prepared would have made any starred restaurant proud. Her presentation of the luncheon enhanced the occasion. And yes, I consider this tour an ‘occasion’.
If you are in the Charlottesville, VA area and want an experience you will not forget I strongly recommend Ginny Saunders Virginia Blue Ridge Wine Tour.

Dear Marcella, Thank you very much for your very kind review. You were a great and appreciative group, and I was delighted when Annette and Ray brought friends to visit our vineyards and enjoy the Virginia wine experience. The story of how you all became friends, from that night in the concert, was hilarious. Who knew that a bad opera would lead to an appreciation of Virginia wines? Next time you return, there will be more vineyards to visit, just as you enjoyed Afton Mountain Vineyards and the new Hazy Mountain Vineyards up on that hill. Looking forward to seeing you and your group again! Sincerely, GINNY SAUNDERS

We were SO glad that we found Ginny on Trip Advisor. Virginia Blue Ridge Wine Tours will not disappoint! Ginny is a true gem and a delight to be around. She picked us (four girlfriends on a weekend reunion) up promptly at our AirBNB in Charlottesville. We went to King, Septenary, then Afton. While we wine tasted at Afton, she was busy setting our table under the pavilion for a DELICIOUS baked salmon lunch that she made herself! We originally wanted to go to Veritas but she advised us to rethink that. She had some clients go there the weekend before and they did not have a good experience. We wanted to see it though as the scenery looked beautiful. She drove us by there and it was packed with people. With the fear of Covid right now, we were so glad that we did not stay! On the way back to Charlottesville she took us to Pro Re Nada brewery. We had so much fun there! All outdoors around fire pits with a two man band. The entire day was very safe dealing with Covid. All of the wineries have wonderful protocols and masks are required in the van with Ginny. Highly recommend and we will use her again for certain.

Dear Tammy, Thank you for your very kind and generous review. You were a very enjoyable group and were easy to entertain. I was so proud to show off our vineyards and our beautiful landscapes. I know you suggested bringing blankets and wine tasting picnic style. I wanted you to enjoy the beautiful pavilion of Afton Mountain Vineyards, the best in the Blue Ridge area, and I am glad we made that happen. Also, the side trip to Pro Re Nata Brewery was a real bonus, not only for you, but for me, as we enjoyed listening to the live band that played music of my era (LOL!), while you ladies sat beside a fire pit and enjoyed both your beer and the music. As you can see, I look forward to your return. Second time is even better, and maybe you can time it for the polo season at King Family Vineyards. Sincerely, GINNY SAUNDERS

I booked the tour for my sister’s birthday celebration. It was the best idea I’ve ever had! Ginny arrived in a sparkling clean and comfortable van to take us on a magnificent tour of the wineries. She entertained us with stories and fun facts along the way. Each winery was awaiting our arrival. Our gourmet catered lunch and birthday cake were not only aesthetically pleasing but delicious as well. After a fun filled day of touring we were returned home safe and sound. I’ve received calls and texts from our guests raving about what a great time we had and we can’t wait to do it again.

Dear Sarah, Incredible! You posted a review just when the vino agri tourism industry is getting knocked down by Coronavirus, so you can be sure that this review is so appreciated, not only by me, but every one contributing to our vino agri tourism. Yes, it was a great wine tour, and you had a great group of friends who shared your love for wines. Fortunately, we got to the opened vineyards before the containment policy went through the wires. Next time we do a repeat tour, we can visit those spots who voluntarily closed their doors to support social distancing. And when that happens I can assure you that the wines will taste more delectable than ever! Sincerely, Ginny Saunders

I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in visiting the vineyards of Charlottesville. The host/guide Virginia (Ginny) is extremely hospitable and personable. This tour is the best bang for your buck! We were picked up from our airbnb, chauffeured to 4 different vineyards with GREAT conversation, and the food that Virginia prepared was PHENOMENAL. She sends a very detailed rundown of how the day will be. You are picked up around 10am, and get to choose from a list of hand-picked vineyards. Virginia was super friendly and knew how to give us our space, yet capture many beautiful pictures of us! The meal that she prepared was my favorite part. We chose Salmon, but she went above and beyond with a spread. The spread included (but not limited to) salmon, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, grapes, bread, and the best Phillipino inspired rice I have ever tasted. She then drove us back to our airbnb on a very pleasant ride. I highly recommend this tour, and I will be booking it again in a week with some more friends!

While the entire wine tour and tasting experience was outstanding, the salmon lunch prepared and served by the business owner and guide was my favorite part of the tour. The entire 5-hour tour far exceeded my expectations. The guide was very personable, professional, and knowledgeable about the region's wine history, I would highly recommend this tour through Virginia Blue Ridge Wine Tours,

Dear Phil, Thank you very much for your kind review. I am glad we were able to visit the vineyards and winery on a Wednesday, when several venues were closed. A good day too because it was leisurely and the venues were not crowded. Thank you also for complimenting on the salmon lunch. King Family Vineyard was a beautiful place to enjoy that lunch, and great wines to accompany it. Now that you have seen some of our vineyards, we look forward to your next visit and schedule those we have missed. I expect new vineyards and wineries to open, now that our area has become a viticulture phenomenon. Sincerely, GINNY SAUNDERS

About a year and a half ago I Ginny took me and 5 of my girlfriends on this tour and we had an amazing time. I quickly thought of Virginia wine tours when my husband and I decided to get away for the weekend and thankfully Ginny was available!
Although it was a cold winter day, Ginny gave us an amazing time! Her knowledge of the area and vineyards is remarkable and we enjoyed our time with her. Her every attention to the details for our special lunch made us feel like VIPs around everyone at Afton Mountain. Her lunch was delicious and special.

Dear Wendi, Thank you for your kind review. Yes, the weather was inclement, but winter snow was not a deterrent to our tour. It was in fact a romantic factor, as we visited the vineyards and had a great lunch at the beautiful pavilion of Afton Mountain Vineyards. Pictures tell all, from Boars Head Inn and back. Isn't it special to be eating a seven course lunch with wine while the rest feed on cheese and crackers? I look forward to your third repeat tour, Wendi. It is a privilege to meet up with visitors who have become friends after breaking bread in a beautiful setting and amazing Virginia landscape. This is wine country at its best. Sincerely, GINNY SAUNDERS

This is the perfect Experience for wine lovers. All the fun of winery hopping and none of the stress of driving. Ginny picked us up from our rental at Wintergreen. Her van was clean and comfortable, and her driving was smooth. She told us about the region and drove us to four wineries - three she had preplanned and one of our choice (we could have picked a distellery, brewery or cidery). She knew the employees at each winery and was on good terms with everyone. At afton, she unveiled a perfect picnic lunch and dined with us. I mean this spread was amazing. I'm vegetarian so we had mushroom pasta, caprese, iceberg wedge, focaccia, grapes, all with a delicious glass of afton wine. We were too full for dessert so she sent us home with an entire homemade cheesecake. It was really a perfect day. Ginny also took pictures throughout the day, which she said she'll send us.

I did this trip with my boyfriend but will be back for a girls weekend this winter & we plan to use Ginny. Virginia Blue Ridge Wine Tours is a great price value for the experience; however, be aware that all the winery tasting fees have gone way up.

I cannot say enough good things about Virginia and her tour of the Charlottesville area’s local wineries. Her choices of stops were perfect for our group of 3 girlfriends. We visited 4 wineries, all of which had beautiful scenery and even more beautiful wines. Virginia was knowledgeable about what made each of the wineries unique and was able to guide us through the whole experience seamlessly. I know many of the other reviewers wrote about the lunch and I have to echo their rave reviews! It was truly a gourmet lunch that Virginia prepared for us: lasagna served with salad, bread, asparagus, Brie, and strawberries AND we ate in a private balcony overlooking the production facilities at Cardinal Point Winery. Another perk of this tour was that Virginia snapped pictures of us the whole time and created an album of about 30 photos that we could share with family and friends. It was an unforgettable experience and I highly recommend it!

Dear Lindsey, Thank you very much for the kind and authentic review. It was a delightful tour for me, and I am so glad that you shared the fun, as I showed off the vineyards in their beautiful setting. Good wines, knowledgeable wine tenders, unpretentious yet elegant and beautiful settings are the hallmarks of our Blue Ridge vineyards. I was also glad that we were able to have lunch at the Cardinal Point Winery where we had first class view of the production while we were enjoying lunch. Nothing could beat that themed lunch!! I look forward to your return. Summer or fall are good seasons to say a brief goodbye to your hospitals and patients while you take a breather and reenergize at the Blue Ridge vineyards. You know my number!! We have the wines!! Sincerely, Ginny Saunders
