I you have some spare time and love walking in nature, consider parking your car at the beginning of the trail and walking to Monticello rather than going there by car (it's some 2 miles up the hill), it is a really lovely walk, especially...More

A great trail where you will come across so many folks either running, walking, with pets, with kids, Senior Citizens, families! It's an easy slight incline walk and some of it is boardwalk but the whole thing is stroller friendly! They also have trails off...More

Great for all, children, strollers, young and old! Love that it is shady in the summer and bright and sunny in the winter. Lots to look at, deer, birds, toads in the pond, trees, Cville's skyline, the visitor center at the top. Great place for...More

This was a straightforward 45 minute walk along paths and board walk from our accommodation at The Inn at Monticello. The path arrives at the Monticello/ Jefferson Foundation Visitor Centre, which has excellent facilities, restrooms and a cafe, with very informative interactive media. There are...More

If you are looking for a walk on a quiet, peaceful trail this is the place. It is two miles from the bottom up to Monticello where you can partake in the cafe and rest up, before the walk down to the bottom. Trees are...More

My husband and I did overall enjoy this hike and appreciated the care that has gone into maintaining the trail. It does get a bit crowded with both walkers and bicyclists. It is well enough maintained to bring a stroller on wheelchair. Through no fault...More

I love Monticello Trail, whether for a beautiful walk with family- including my 11-year-old, my preschool-aged niece, and my infant nephews in strollers, or for running either solo with friends.

A great and manageable hike. We parked at Monticello and started our hike there. There were a few times where the trail was on an incline, but nothing too intense.

Well taken care of trail for exercise, strolling, easy grade, beautiful trees and scenery. About 2.5 miles one way if you go all the way to Monticello. The way back down is easy. Many beautiful walks included the secluded farm trails but they are rustic...More

How difficult is the trail. We have medical issues that preclude us from walking steep trails

Steady slight grade. Lots of shade and well maintained path. Benches along the way. Once you start the trail usually need to turn around to head back as no mid trail exit points that I can recall.

I would like to know if you pick up and drop from place of stay also as there are no direct buses/ public transport going there.
