We’ve been enjoying Potter’s Cider all over town for years excitedly anticipating the opening of their very own Tasting Room.

They have had a location at the Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative, right off the downtown mall, which is a popular spot of the weekends before COVID.

Their official tasting room, however is a completely elevated experience. The same amazing cider, but they’ve done an exceptional job renovating an old, stone church just South of town on a huge plot of land. Their social distancing precautions have altered the interior a great deal, but in a way that makes me feel safer and like they care for their staff’s safety. The staff is incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable.

Outdoor seating is very well spread out, and there’s also a great picnic area in front of a super cool outdoor stage for concerts.

It’s also dog-friendly, which is a huge plys for us.

we spent two full days touring popular wineries around Charlottesville, tasting flights, and they were all good, but on the 3rd day we desired a longer drink than flights and found Potter's Craft Cider at 1350 Arrowhead Valley Rd (not the downtown venue).

The facility is charming, the grounds great, and very well-spaced, and most of all, the cider. It might not have the views of some of the wineries, but the various flavors of cider more than compensate.

I particularly recommend the grapefruit flavor and the ginger flavor varieties

Although the dust is still settling, go now before word gets out that this is an experience that is 100% Virginia! It will become a truly not-to-be-missed "destination" The ciders are amazing, the atmosphere and setting is unlike any other. The staff is fully invested in making your visit all it can be. Be patient while those few "just moved in" kinks work out.
FYI: If the walk up the hill is too much, continue through the parking lot and drive up another hill to reach parking that is accessible for anyone needing flat surfaces.
Please visit this venue, for those of us who are local, it is a joy to see this property receive so much tender loving care.

Visited this spot this weekend while on a winery tour of local vineyards in the Charlottesville area. The highlight of the visit was the food truck parked near the entrance. The tacos were amazing. The service in the tasting room was somewhat lacking. The female at the bar was not friendly at all, even jerked my CC from my hand when it was offered to her. I started to comment but just thought, nah, let it go. She has to deal with her own bad attitude, not me. She wasn’t friendly to my friend that was with me, either. The white wine that I had was a bit pricey, also. Won’t return to this location.

Potters has been my favorite cider from my very first sip several years ago.
When I learned that they were renovating such an incredible historical landmark as their new tasting room I could barely restrain my excitement. I followed on FB as photos of progress were posted. Attention was paid to preservation of the building as the renovation gave it new life.
Potters cider is outstanding and the tasting room is the perfect place to enjoy a glass or flight. The food options are delicious (the trout dip is incredible). The entertainment is varied and delightful. The grounds and beautiful and family friendly.
Do yourself a favor...go enjoy the cider and surroundings

Visited their new tasting room fun place in a great old interesting building. Short drive on Rt 29 south of Charlottesville. Friendly and attentive staff explained their ciders. We enjoyed their selections and purchased some to take home.

Will return with friends .

We so enjoyed our visit to Potter’s tasting room. The cider was wonderful (I didn’t even know I liked cider!) The setting was beautiful; a restored stone building with great outdoor spaces. It was warm enough to sit outside for a while and play cornhole. Inside, there was music and a fire. We did not eat, but the food looked great! Highly recommend.
