The tour cost me $28, but was worth every penny. We watched a 20 minute video at the visitor's center, then took a shuttle to the top. We had about a half hour to kill before our tour started, so we walked around Mulberry row and down to the gravesite. The tour itself takes about 45-50 minutes, which takes you... More

can be crowded, but Monticello shows the genius that is Jefferson. A must see when in the area, along with Montpelier.

Went to Monticello and toured Thomas Jefferson's house and grounds. Our tour guide for the house and Mulberry Row, Susan Watson, was excellent, informative and relaxed in her presentation. This is a great place to take kids that have a slight interest in history. The grounds are beautiful. There's something for everyone here.

If you can afford it, splurge on the "Behind the Scenes" tour. It's two hours of fascinating information (... at least if your tour guide is named Grace). I probably still don't appreciate Jefferson enough, but he was one very interesting and important fellow. Monticello is well worth your time!

We visited Monticello, Thomas Jeffersons house and estate and it was wonderful! Great museum first and then you are booked into a house tour which takes around 45 mins and is very informative. If you have time there are other tours you can do as well! If you are in the Charlottesville area you must go here

We made this trip with my parents, in-laws and our 3 children. Base price included a self tour of the grounds and a guided tour of the bottom floor. (You have to pay more to see the upper floors of the house) Ages 12 and up are counted as adults, which I thought was a little ridiculous.....anyways there was a... More

Took a tour of the retirement home of Thomas Jefferson, it was very interesting. The museum was very nice. It has very picturesque views up by TJ'S house.

We did the tour of this site and really enjoyed it. The tour guides were very detailed and moved you along the tour, but allowed enough time to explore and read. There is so much to look at. It is nice that this part of our history has been so well preserved.

This was my 2nd time to Monticello. Many improvements to the tour have been added since my last visit. We enjoyed the visitor center and theatre before and after the home tour. I purchase a cute garden hat to shade my face from the sun. The van ride to the home was comfortable and quick. Our tour guide (included in... More

We had lunch at Michie Tavern with my cousins and then toured Monticello. We live in Williamsburg and it's an easy drive and makes for a nice day trip.
