The gentle waves from the Chesapeake Bay wash over you and rock you into a meditative moment. With it remaining shallow for a long way, this beach is very safe for children and, if you have concerns, free childrens' life preservers are available for use....More

Cape Charles is a quaint town with small shops and good places to eat. We enjoyed watching people having very good luck crabbing off the beautiful dock. This area would be nice for families with small children because they could wade out into the water...More

Stopped by here on our way back from NC. Not much open but they had a cute beach and the downtown area looks promising. We want to return in nicer wether for a longer stay and to explore.

Beautiful smooth white sand and calm bay waves. Undisturbed dunes and tons of shells, too. Some educational history on the site. Awesome views. And completely free admission, including free public parking.

Our Victorian rental was 3 blocks from the beach which is VERY family friendly. The water is so very shallow for such a long distance out so that was fun for the children. Plenty of good restaurants within two blocks and a super ice cream...More

Since rhe refurbishing a few years ago this beach is super wide with plenty room to navigate. I fly my dual line and quadline kites occasionally. Great parking access as well!

Yes, Cape Charles is dog friendly. The beach is available the typical times in winter and summer during off bathing hours. Shop owners keep water bowls out. Homeowners request picking up animal droppings.

The beach runs along Bay Avenue. The access to the fishing pier, beach, and the public restroom is at the corner of Bay Avenue and Mason Avenue.
