Our favorite time of year to visit the museum is between Thanksgiving and the New Year because on the top floor they set up a large model train display that is a little interactive. My son is two and really enjoys seeing all the trains.

The genealogy portion of the museum is full of useful information about past Bedford residents. Most helpful, though, is the excellent staff. They blew me away with their knowledge and the speed with which they uncovered clues that I had been seeking for weeks.

I went looking for genealogical info. The staff was extremely helpful and efficient. They found exactly what I needed, and copied papers for me. It is well organized.

Very interesting visit. Many varying exhibits that are constantly being change. Includes an exhibit honoring "The Bedford Boys". You could visit every month and not see the same things. Around the holidays the museum has a model train setup.

If you looking for clues to your family history, information on native Americans, wars, local history, this museum has it all. I've used their facilities for geneology and local history. My grandkids & I visit during the Christmas holiday season to see the wonderful trains on display at that time. Don't let it's small size deceive you, it's loaded with displays & info and some friendly folks ready to help you enjoy all it has to offer. Check out their website for more info and special events.

We had about a hour in the Museum and could of stayed longer, my mother knew one of the Bedford soldiers killed during the Battle for Normandy (Charles Fizer) when she lived in Ivybridge in Devon England and we found his photo on the wall, which was very nice.
If you are interested in D Day, US Civil war or the town of Bedford it is well worth a visit.

The history that resides in Bedford is incredible and the staff will insure you have a good tour and visit.
The museum tells its own story as you travel between room and floors of the museum.
A fantastic way to learn Bedford history and enjoy a break from the weather.

We came to the Bedford Museum and Genealogical Library to see the Christmas train display. While there, we explored the museum and their exhibits. It was an unexpected surprise. I enjoyed walking through the museum and learning about Bedford Boys and the history of Bedford more than I expected. The trains were interesting but I definitely enjoyed the museum more. Stop in and explore. It's worth the time.

I visited here today to obtain information on my family history. I purchased several books that have references to my ancestors. I very much enjoyed my visit. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

I stopped in to research my family history. I had been told they have a lovely library and a great librarian that will help. I spent all day, only leaving when they tossed me out to lock up. I did not go up the stairs to view the upstairs displays but the ones downstairs are well organized, nicely displayed, very interesting and highly educational. It is definitely a most do item.
