The orchard was not fully operational as the peaches and apples were not yet ready for harvest. We enjoyed our stop and bought some old-fashioned peach and damson preserves. We've tasted the peach and it is quite tasty.

After a day hiking up on the parkway, we stopped here for homemade peach ice cream and fresh fried pies. Yes, a little sickening, but a fun experience for our family. The store is charming, and really, a refreshing break from the usual sterile mega-store scene. I gave four stars because it is still just a country deli and grocery,... More

A wonderful time to spend a day. Lots of music, crafts, food. The mountains are awesome in the fall. Lots of friendly people and so much fun to ride the horse carts and tour the apple orchards and just relax and enjoy the country air.

The AJ Gross Orchard was great! Walter the owner was friendly and a wealth of knowledge. The apple selection was very good.

We have been here three times. Friendly people, lots of apple varieties, cider, jellies and jams. The apple butter is home made and delicious. They are open year round.

I stopped here with a group bus tour. It had many varieties of apple's in the store as well as local jams and jellies and candies. The prices were reasonable and the employees were helpful. We purchased apples from the store and did not actually go into the orchard. This orchard is convenient when visiting the National D-Day Memorial and... More

For many years, I have visited AJ Gross & Sons Orchard Fall Festival. They have a wide variety of vendors. Some have homemade arts/crafts, some are making apple butter, some are frying apple flapjacks, some have homemade jams, jellies, preserves, pies, cakes, kettle corn & other foods/sweets. They also have a country/bluegrass band that is very entertaining. A raffle is... More

We stopped by to pick some apples on the weekend of Centerfest. The location is easy to find as they have signs taking you right to the farm. We have been here many times and like the ease of getting some great produce. Close by are the Peaks of Otter. Beautiful setting!

I have been coming to Bedford in the fall for years. A couple of nights up at the Peaks of Otter Lodge with its lake of tranquility, Sharp Top Mountain bathed in the reds, yellows, and oranges of fall, and the Gross Apple Harvest festival will set me up for a couple of months. Down home entertainment, apples of all... More

I despise GMO's and chemical mutations to food and if you are like me this is the place to go! The apples are delicious, organic and fresh! The farm is huge, the owners and workers are extremely friendly, offering us recipes, advice and inviting us to a local barn yard fundraiser for a town nearby. They made us feel right... More
