Extremely Rude Staff
Dec 2019
If I could give a rating of 0 stars I would. The staff is absolutely the snobbiest people you will ever meet and will make your time here very uncomfortable. Both times I've been here, they made my family and I feel more than unwelcome to the point we left the second time due to being treated rudely for no reason at all. The first time I came, the staff rolled their eyes behind the bar at us the whole time we were there and whispered amongst themselves very unprofessionally, clearly making everyone in our group feel unwelcome and like a spectacle for reasons I'm not sure of. One of the eye rolling female staff members passed us off to a more "friendly" male staff member very blatantly not wanting to deal with us for whatever reason, this was done right in front of us very rudely with no explanation in the middle of our tasting. The second visit, my boyfriend was very rudely spoken to right when we arrived when he asked for a recommendation before we had even received any drinks by an older, miserable woman who I can only assume must hate her job and life. We took a limo and spent a lot of time and money making this a special trip to this winery and it was completely ruined by this experience. I'm not sure if they hate bigger groups or what the deal is but terrible experiences both times overall. Don't waste your time or money here, absolutely not worth the trip.

Usual wine tasting. The pizza was burnt on one side.
Oct 2019
Usual wine tasting that was OK at best. The pizza, offered by an outside pizza oven was burnt on one side. Also, I did not get what I ordered but after an almost hour wait I was not going to send it back.

Beautiful setting and nice wine
Jul 2019 • Family
Not being a super wine aficionado I cannot comment too much on the wine, but offer the following observations about service and setting.

We popped in with a group of about 12 people. They had room for us to sit and relax. It was in the 90s, so we sat inside on the couches. They had wine "slurpees" which were really nice and we bought and excellent fruity wine. We brought our own crackers and cheese and spent really relaxing hour and a half. The place is dog friendly and has some outstanding outdoor seating (but it was too hot that day). Prices for a wine tasting (which we did not do) were extremely reasonable. This is a nice low pressure casual winery with friendly and helpful staff!! Highly recommend this place.

50th Anniversary Party
Jun 2019 • Family
My parents had their 50th anniversary party in the pavilion at this vineyard. The experience was excellent and a lovely venue for a gathering of about 100 people. I can highly recommend.

Great relaxing Day in the country.....
May 2019
A short drive from Williamsburg or Richmondfor to enjoy a nice relaxing day at a beautiful winery retreat. The owners Mo and Sandy Gauthier are always around the property and look forward to welcoming you to their little piece of paradise. Pack a lunch, grab a glass of their wine and choose a spot on the lawn to enjoy the beautiful view. They also offer a great venue for special events, and shortly will be opening a new B & B. DON'T MISS THIS ONE! Highly recommend....

Everything you expect
Mar 2019 • Couples
You drive up to a very nice setting. A big wrap around porch overlooking a pond. The inside was modern farmhouse. The tasting is 8 wines that you pick (or 10 if you want to pay for ports) which I really like, saves the trouble. Friendly staff. They even show you recipes of their mulled wine which was delicious. I didn’t try the pizza because we were eating dinner in a few hours. I’m surprised I liked the petit Verdot. Very happy with the visit and hope to stop in again one day soon. They don’t appear to turn away groups.

Beautiful Setting/Great Pizza
Feb 2019 • Couples
Visited yesterday (2/1/19). The winery is in a beautiful setting...it was snowing when we pulled up. (I can only imagine how beautiful it must be in the warmer months to sit out on the deck and look at the vineyard and pond.) We were greeted by the winery dog upon entering. He's adorable! The place was packed (mix of tourists and locals). Staff is very friendly and helpful. We placed our wood-fired pizza order (you do this outside at the oven and they bring your pizza inside to you in a box, so if you have extra you are already set "to go"). Pizzas are 10 inch. Then we went back inside to do a wine-tasting. ($10 per person) The wines were average. Tasted about 8 wines. My hubby liked the petit verdot. ($7 per glass) I enjoyed a wine slushie. (Also $7) Pizzas were outstanding! My hubby had the Diana Ross ($12)-a mix of veggies & meats. I had the Flyer (standard pepperoni and cheese)-also $12.

The winery is open Friday evening (4-8) and Saturday and Sunday...but they only make the pizzas on Friday evening and Saturday. (I had e-mailed them to confirm they were still making the pizzas in the winter months and they are....oven is in a brick partially enclosed area at the end of their deck).

We enjoyed the great music (oldies), pizza, fireplace, atmosphere and friendly staff/crowd. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Neighborhood get together
Jul 2018 • Friends
This was my second visit to the winery and my second wine tasting over a two year period. I love the hospitality, friendliness and overall atmosphere. There were seven people in our group and we all had a fantastic time. We went through a few bottles of wine 🍷 and about five wood fired pizzas 🍕. Everything was top notch. We left with a case of wine.
We all highly recommend this place. I look forward to my next visit to Virginia.

Enjoyed a visit here for a tasting and chillin on their deck. Great selection of wines and good tasting / informative. Mike was also very informative of the history in the area.
