Wonderful food in a relaxed friendly atmosphere. Cafe Rouge, Brinkley Place, Birmingham.
Jun 2017 • Couples
The French menu made a welcome change from the ubiquitous Italian, burger or steak house establishments. We thoroughly enjoyed our main meal. The lamb rump cassoulet was succulent with a delicious and unexpected flame grilled flavour. With generous pieces of perfectly cookes sea bass and salmon with mussels and prawns in a delicate but tasty tomato sauce the bouillabaisse was fabulous. We made the right choice to save room for dessert and we're not disappointed. The rich warm chocolate fondant was speckled with sharp fruity raspberry crumbs which complimented it perfectly. The apple tart was light, crispy with juicy and not too sweet but slightly sticky apples, accompanied by gorgeous tart tatin ice cream. The staff were friendly and professional, the restaurant welcoming and relaxed with interesting but unobtrusive decor. We'd definitely recommend Cafe a Rouge and will definitely go again.

Caught breakfast at the rouge as I hadn't tried the new menu yet but was not disappointed. The waitress Roxy was a great help choosing and the food was great, so I will be returning soon.

Wonderful Experience
May 2017 • Couples
Called at Cafe Rouge on 17 May 2017 while staying in Birmingham overnight to collect rings from the Jewellery Quarter to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Excellent food, wonderful atmosphere and very friendly and attentive staff. Would love to repeat the experience next time we are in Birmingham.

Lunch at Cafe Rouge
Jan 2017 • Couples
Went fo Cafe Rouge in Brindley Place in Birmingham on Sunday 15th Jan for lunch with my wife. Had a lovely welcome and although it was busy we were seated in a booth. The service was very good and the food was delicious and came on hot plates. Our pet hate when eating out is getting hot food on cold plates. Not so at this Cafe Rouge.

Received very warm welcome. Aki was outstanding. I had not noticed I was missing a steak knife and he immediately spotted that and got one.
I was supposed to have fresh cream with my run baby but they had run out so have me vanilla ice cream which was better for me!
Had unfortunate issue with one of our tesco club card vouchers so the Manager discounted the amount as a goodwill gesture.
We will definitely come back!

a great resource for relaxation and health
This review has two parts: one about the Inn at Trail's End as an inn, and another about the inn's Phoenecian Rejuvenation Center in particular. I'm a big fan of both.

The Inn at Trail's End is convenient to the shops of Wilmington and several area ski slopes, while being set back enough into the woods that it is very much its own place. The setting is rustic, with a huge fieldstone fireplace in the commons area. The Smith family has taken great care in decorating and furnishing the rooms individually. We stayed once in a fireplace suite and another time in a regular double room. Each had its own distinctive charm. A hearty, home-cooked breakfast comes with the room (good muffins!). The pool out back looked inviting; we'll have to come back sometime in summer! The host family is a great asset to the place. Guests are really made to feel welcome.

And then there's that Phoenecian Rejuvenation Center. . .
I visited the Inn at Trail's End and took the package of spa treatments a dozen times over a seven-month period. With the welcoming, gracious, family-friendly environment the Smith family maintains, I found myself happily looking forward to each return visit.
Over the months, I began to notice a significant improvement in my overall health and stamina. Longstanding problems with my knee and back went away and have not returned.
In talking with the Smiths during these visits, I have learned a tremendous amount about how toxins affect many aspects of our health and how to improve health by removing them. Before coming to this spa, I had been researching issues of health and aging for years, and I had encountered so many contradictory recommendations from doctors, books, and websites, that I was feeling confused and helpless. The clear, informed vision behind the spa treatments and the Smiths' openness to discussing any aspect of it were a huge help in getting me on board, and the result has been a return to robust good health.

Fantastic spa treatment
I am 41 years old and had a stroke in January, 2008. A few days after my discharge from the hospital, I started doing spa treatments (infrared sauna, laser, and ionic foot bath) at The Inn at Trails End Spa. Along with dietary changes, quality supplements, treatments, and great advice from JR and Lois, I have made a remarkable recovery!

My doctors originally told me that I would have to take blood thinners (coumadin) for the rest of my life. However, after only two months they had me stop taking it! The spa treatments were an important factor in that decision. I am now off ALL pharmaceuticals, am able to participate in all my favorite physical activities and feeling better every day.

Highly recommended!
