The Orton family has created a virtual step back in time to carry products that you thought had disappeared from the shelves and would never see again. Their true Vermont heritage shines in selling products that work as advertised. Enjoy the cheeses, candy, clothing, home remedies and more in a country "General Store" atmosphere. Don't miss Mildred's Dairy Bar in... More

This is definitely a destination place. It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere but worth looking for. It's an old time New England country store that has everything including some hard to find old-timey things. It is now the only place you can buy Vermont Common Crackers, which they make by the way. We always make a pilgrimage when... More

Everything from back scratchers and socks to maple syrup and high end soaps. This store is a great place to get all things Vermont at reasonable prices. Lots of local treats to sample for free before you buy. Very friendly staff.

I LOVED IT! My younger sister LOVED IT! You will LOVE it. There's so much to see and so much to buy. I was a child again. The store is chock full of what you'd expect from Vermont Country but so much more. There are items in the store that do not show up on the catalog. I purchased enamelware... More

Great stop off point, huge place with vast range of things from clothes to food to outdoor furniture ... best option is grab a snack outside, definitely visit their food sampler areas and take home some great local produce - meats, cheeses, jams and sweets. Take a look at the history up above the shelves - part of the store... More

My family and I spent about an hour inside the store, my two boys poring over the vast toy section while my husband and I made sure to sample the many tasty jellies and dips made available with crackers. There is a good candy and chocolate selection, most of which is priced by the pound. A handful of candy types... More

Huge place full of everything and anything from clothes to candy to jelly, to toys and everything in between. Yes some things are a bit more expensive but they do have a 100% money back guarantee forever. Fun to watch kids and adults.

We live not far from the Vermont Country Store, so we go occasionally. However, we had an out-of-state relative visiting us last weekend, so we made it a point to take him there. He enjoyed browsing as we did -- especially the endless samples of various cheeses, dips, and such! (We bought him a chunk of his favorite cheese.) The... More

It's been at least 10 years since I've been to this store and it was lovely to see that not only has it remained the same, but it's also expanded to include a gourmet food room with lots of local VT cheese samples. You can also sample the maple syrup in the store, which was incredibly helpful in determining which... More

So many different things to see. Toys, food, nick nacks, clothing, soaps, and more. A must see! We enjoy the candy and toys. They are ones you haven't seen or can't find anymore. You don't what to miss it. The area is cute too. Other fun s
