I have been coming here off and on since my parents brought me here as a very young child in the 1950's and 60's. The last time prior to the visit last Wednesday was in the late 1980's. A lot has changed over that time. The small truly country store of the early days is no longer. Back in the... More

This might not be as fair a review as it could be. Our primary purpose to stop was to photograph the covered bridge there as we were spending the day finding such bridges to do so. But their "kissing bridge" just sits there, not over a river. Apparently having been rebuilt there as an attraction. So, even though we photographed... More

It's the kind of shop that looks small from the outside but is actually huge. Filled with nostalgia items that were great to see. Although I didn't actually buy anything, many people were purchasing items. Really fun to spend some time here.

This is a great place to relive nostalgia - from the 40's to the 80's. Lots of fun thinks to look at. A rake for $30 that we bought at a discount store for $5. Definitely paying for the experience and not the value of the items. Didn't buy anything and I ALWAYS buy things.

Took some visiting friends from England to Vermont for a look around and stopped in here. Had lunch in the restaurant. Bought great stuff in the store. Huge selection of Vermont items and best array of maple syrup I have seen in ages.

Its cute and huge. It isn't the typical "general store", its not quaint, its not small, its not cheap, and its not old fashioned. But it is unique and has a ton of stuff to look at. You can sample just about every cheese, dip, jelly, and spread they have. Yum!!! Its in a cute tiny town and worth stopping... More

You can get anything you need, or anything you want at the Vermont Country Store. The Orton family has opened outlets in key towns in Vermont, and this is the original. Get everything you need -- cleaners, clothes, or tools!

I've been buying from their catalogue for years and years - so it was a treat to step into the actual store and see what was what for myself. The candy was wonderful. The tastes of cheese and crackers (and various relishes and jellies) were delicious. I still love the catalogue - but the store was a treat!

Americana at its best, this is a visit that everyone should make. There are fun nicknacks, great clothing, great kitchen supplies, and lots of great food and candy. There is No place like it to this scale in New England. There are so many old time goodies to be found! You will not be disappointed!!!
