Was very excited to finally visit this museum but we were pretty disappointed. It is dark and poorly lit and the exhibits look like they haven’t been touched in decades. The floors slant downhill and there are lots of stairs. The live birds downstairs really...More

I visited here with the family, including our 14 month old, on a rainy summer day. The museum was larger than expected and ADORABLE. They have typical natural history-type displays, as well as living rehabilitated wildlife. The little one enjoyed strolling around. We spent 1.5...More

My boyfriend and I were leaving to head home to Connecticut when we researched this museum. I was out of breath as we came upon this INCREDIBLE cliff-side mountain view where the museum is. This museum is VERY IMPORTANT for a number of reasons, one...More

When on a trip through Vermont, my friend and I stopped at the Hogback Mountain gift shop for the views and the maple syrup. When we noticed the Natural History Museum inside the store, we decided to check it out. What a total shock! There...More

My husband and I enjoy stopping at the Hogback Mountain gift shop every fall. Beyond the absolutely spectacular views, it's a nice mid distance stop with fun gift shop novelties inside. (Including snacks and drinks!) This year our two sons came with us (9 and...More

This is a museum that looks small from the road, but it is way bigger and better than I anticipated. It covers three levels. My husband and I really liked it. It consists of a collection of Vermont, New Hampshire and northern New England birds...More

Many birds displayed tastefully. Lots to learn. Also many live animals that allow you to be up close and personal. Really a great place to visit. We were told that they might be moving to a bigger place which would be a bonus.

Got to confess, I find this place slightly creepy, but my kids love it. We went almost by accident on our last trip to Vermont and they begged to go back this time, so we did. It's taxidermy central but the live birds are fun...More

Definitely not a modern museum, but we were able to see close up birds that we had seen from a distance in the wild and the exhibits provide quite of bit of information. For $5 it didn't kill the budget. The live birds were neat...More
