The apple cider donuts and hot apple cider were delicious and completely hit the spot for a fall breakfast. The cider mill has a video about the cider making process which is informative. It was a great place to buy souvenirs/gifts (maple syrup, baked goods, honey) and I took a bunch of donuts home to the family! Tour buses frequent here, so you want to make sure to bring a mask as it is crowded indoors.

Hi, Thanks for visiting and we're glad you enjoyed your cider and donuts. We are quite crowded this time of year, so a mask is a great option!

There is soooo much going on here! There actually 2 buildings one with a restaurant and hard cider and tastings. The main building has snacks (baked goods), condiments, clothes, games, drinks, foods, candles, gift ideas etc... in a large store and if you " follow the Apple to the Core" you can see apple cider being made. from start to finish the process takes about 25 min.
No animals allowed and it is one the pricey side!

Cold Hollow was our first stop when we arrived in Stowe. We were looking forward to tasting hard cider, non alcoholic cider, have cider food everything, and needed lunch after our 3 hour drive.
They had a decent selection for the flights. Our first order was placed at the counter near the entrance. They gave us a number and it would be announced while we sat and waited. This part was nice and quick.
I ordered the turkey club wrap and it was just “ok”. The maple Mayo made the meal, but I wasn’t that excited about it in general. The cider flight was good and my fiancé enjoyed her regular apple cider.
We stopped in to the store and that was cool. A lot of high priced items with opportunities to taste fresh apple cider. The cider donuts were cheap (.75) so that was nice.
We went back across the lot to grab another beer and this is were I felt like there just wasn’t enough staff. I went back to the same counter and the lady said I had to go to the bar. Ok, fine. I waited in the line there where only one person was pouring beer and running cards. When I finally got to the front to order a beer she said “oh, you can order that at the other counter”. Yes, the one that sent me to where I was. I mentioned this and she seemed confused, but helped me anyways. It was just a slow confusing process and they need more staff and better signage so you know where to place your order.
All in all, a good stop in the center of town.

Hi, Sorry for the confusion. We have been extremely busy, and our hard working staff has done their best. Sometimes, we can fall short, sorry about that. We're glad that you enjoyed your ciders. Thanks for visiting!

The store is a wonderful place to visit for cider, maple syrup, jam, and other lovely quintessentially Vermont products. HOWEVER, and it is a big however, there is a working heating stove on the floor in the middle of the store, which was extremely hot the day I visited this past weekend. The stove is sitting directly on the floor blasting heat with no screen, gate, or other protection for the customers.
I had no idea the stove was even there when I was walking around the store with my toddler son. He was not running or being disruptive and was never more than a few feet away from me. We turned a corner and before I even noticed the stove on the floor, my son had walked a few steps and put his hand directly on the hot glass, which again was not blocked or protected by anything. He immediately screamed and took his hand off the glass, but by then he had received second-degree burns on all of this little fingers. He has suffered greatly this week and remains at risk of infection.
Granted, we left the store very quickly to take him to an urgent care clinic, but no store employee approached us to see if he was ok. I then called the store this past Monday to inform them of the accident and kindly request that they place a screen or some sort of gate in front of this extremely hot stove easily accessible by anyone walking through the store and at perfect child height. I was told I would receive a call from the owner the next day, but have not yet received one.
I remain shocked that this stove is left unprotected out in the open of a very family-oriented store and at the lack of care the staff and owners have showed us. Needless to say, I won't be returning, and I urge visitors, especially with young children, to watch out for the stove.

We are so sorry that this happened to your child. We hope that he will be okay. We know that even the most closely supervised toddlers can move fast, and we would never deliberately place a child at risk. We'll do our best to remedy the situation so this won't happen in the future.

Great shop for all kinds of fun gifts from Vermont. Lots of local items. Hot cider was excellent as well as the continuous flow of hot cider donuts. Get em while they are hot.

A major tourist trap, the apple cider donuts weren’t terrible but they weren’t worthy of the title “best”. Large gift shop with tourist Knick knacks and t-shirts, mostly landfill food. There are some really nice baked goods available for a reasonable price, and while the donuts aren’t expensive, they are quite small. If you’re a huge fan of apple cider donuts I’d highly recommend Peck farm. They had the BEST donuts I’ve ever had, and really good cider, totally blows cold hollow out of the water.

If you are visiting this area during the fall foliage, I would assume this would be a must stop! My only negative is apparently everyone else knows that too! It was very busy. Multiple tour buses get off here, so I recommend to get here early so you can beat the crowds! The apple cider donuts are the main attraction, but they have a lot of things to shop for souvenirs as well. You can make this a long stop if you want, or can just do a quick one and grab some donuts and cider!

We had breakfast here everyday when we stayed across the street. Their breakfast sandwiches are rather pricey but completely homemade and very good. We ate some donuts and bought a gallon of syrup. Good if you're in need of tourist trinkets or maple candy.

Very touristy, but still very enjoyable. Basically one side is a gift shop where the cider mill is located, and then across the parking lot is a luncheon restaurant and a tasting place for their various ciders.
While my wife was shopping, I bought a flight of four of their ciders to experience. They were very good and very reasonably priced. We really enjoyed our relatively brief time here at this very busy spot.

Wonderful stop while in Waterbury. We decided to eat first at their cute cafe & hard cider bar. 2 of us ordered the panini with a small salad. Was this yummy! Apples, bacon, cheese & more. Simply delicious. Another got the Veggie wrap which she said was good not great. Their apple cider is the best. I got the hard cider 2 small glasses 4 oz each of 2 different ciders. These were so good that I got a 4 pack to take home. There was dining available inside or out on deck. We felt their could have been more attention to COVID protocol. The store itself had all kinds of items to include a bakery. We were disappointed as they were out of most pies. We did get some donuts which were good but truly a bit dry. There were all kinds of syrups, salsas, jams, relishes & more. You could see them making cider & free samples available. The regular cider was available here in a variety of size bottles. Truly I feel the best cider I have tasted. The store was crowded and we 3 were about only ones with masks. Felt uncomfortable so did not stay as long as we would have liked.

Hi, Thank you for the review and nice comments. We are following all current Covid mandates as set by the state of VT. Masks are not currently required and we are leaving it up to each individual to make that decision. We're sorry if you felt uncomfortable, we certainly understand. We're glad that you came in, and sorry that we were out of pies. We hope your enjoyed your visit to our area!

how long is the tour... how much time should you allow for the visit??
Written October 19, 2021
I didn’t notice a tour. There are windows to watch the cider process, very interesting. There is also a shop with lots of Vermont items available for purchase as well as Hot Cider and Cider Doughnuts. I would allow yourself 30 minutes +/-
