We were looking for a pleasant walk in the woods to see birds, water, plants and trees. It was delightful. The weather was great, leaves turning colors and the path well marked. We only walked to the water about 20 minutes as we were 4 ladies in our 60s with various degrees of comfort walking without a railing. No banister on the staircase. The path is well maintained and parking was available. Recommend wearing sturdy shoes, not necessarily hiking boots. Plan an hour or two.

This is a wonderful trail but a little hard to find the actual trailhead for upper gorge. Go into the field, stay to the left and at the end of the field, unmarked, is the entrance to the trail. Lower gorge was really wet. Recommend the upper gorge--runs adjacent to the roaring falls.

Miss the crowds and go the Sterling Forest. The gorge is beautiful with wonderful falls. Great place to hike!

There's more here to see then just the falls as there are many hiking trails with lovely meadows and ponds. This is a hidden gem in my opinion.

We really enjoyed the hike and the falls. It's a lovely area with hardly any people around. We spent quite a bit of time there and would definitely do it again.
