I grew up riding snowmobiles and as an adult have rented and ridden in CO, PA, NY, and now VT. As far as tours go, this was by far a great cruising tour to go on. Not too long, not too short, and the group sizes were great and tailored to the abilities within your group. Luke was our guide and did a great job keeping us cruising and having fun. Two of my kids (10 and 8) were on their first rides as passengers and loved it. Luke did a great job making them feel comfortable and stopping at the appropriate intervals to make sure everything was still going well. It was a highlight within our vacation and I would recommend them for any skill level.

My wife and I had a great tour on Thurs 1/20/22 with Cali as our tour guide. Great safety and operation review beforehand. Our double seater was in great working order and staff went over precheck with us to make sure we were comfortable in knowing how to operate our snowmobile.
Cali was a great tour guide, checking on us regularly throughout our tour, cautioning us where necessary to look out for tight turns, stops, etc. She made sure we stopped at appropriate intervals to rest and get photos. We loved our tour and highly recommend Snowmobile Vermont! Can't wait to go back!

The whole experience was great. Easy to book online and the check-in, gear check, and safety instructions was smoothly run.
It was fun couple hours in the woods with our guide Dakota with a mix of terrains, speed, and technical sections. Looking forward to the chance to do it again.

We brought a group and used 14 snowmobiles. We were given four guides. Before riding snowmobiles, we watched a video stating that arrangements would be made if some of the group want to go faster or slower. During the two hour tour, it was obvious that not everyone wanted to go the same speed. While most of our group wanted to go a little faster, 25 to 35 mph, a few wanted to take it slow. Unfortunately, when I asked the guide to change up the order so that those who want to go fast weren’t held up by those going slower, I was told no. I asked at least three times and nothing was changed. Ultimately, a good part of the group was restricted by one or two of our guys who just were not up for riding faster. So, out of a two hour tour a good part of the group was only going 17 to 20 mph average. There was about 20 to 30 minutes where we actually had speeds of over 25 mph.

When I spoke with Mark after the tour, I was told that their first priority was safety and I shouldn’t have brought up the guys that I did if I wanted to go faster. I told him that most of the guys never snowmobiled before and I would not know that fact until after we started. I also told him that I tried to ask his guide three times to change the order and was told “maybe later” by my guide each time (order was never changed).

So, I am sure that your experience would depend on the group you brought and the guide you were given. Although they claim they will make adjustments on the trail, don’t count on it. Or, make sure you clarify that desire before you leave so the guides will actually follow through with what the company says it will do (on its pre-ride training video). Believe me when I say that $184 is way too much money to go 17 mph for an hour and a half. Two hours of snowmobiling can be a real drag if one of your crew doesn’t want to go fast and everyone else is held up by them. Don’t expect the guides to break up the group and go slower with those who are not comfortable while taking others on a faster ride.

We were super excited for our 2 hour snowmobile adventure, however, after getting geared up and being transported about 5 minutes down the road, where the snow mobile staging area was, we went through another verbal set of instructions identical to the video, which was fine, but we didn’t leave the camp until 11:30, and at 11:41, another rider could no longer ride, so we didn’t leave that spot until 12:01, so we only go to snowmobile for right at an hour or a little less. I understand people get scared and can’t ride, but we were 30 minutes late on our departure, then we got back about 7 minutes early, so essential I paid for about a 51 minute snowmobile tour and was charged for 2 hours. It was not worth the money.

Let me start off by saying my wife has never been on a snowmobile, and she was very nervous. These guys were so informative and made us feel very comfortable with the snowmobile. Our guide Steve did an excellent job on the tour through the mountains, being from New Jersey we normally don’t get snow like that, but what a great day and if I can highly recommend a time of day it would be right around 10 AM to 12AM. The instruction before we took off was perfectly explained, then we broke off into groups, my wife and I had our own, and I trailed behind her. It gets a little edgy near the ledges, but We still felt safe enough to continue throughout the tour, even my wife started getting Balzy after a half an hour and started ripping up the trails like she was a pro!!!!! what a great time!!!!!!!!! if you’re looking for something to do other than snowboard or ski, which I don’t do, then definitely check these guys out for snowmobiling, we will definitely be back. Great job guys

Having never ridden a snowmobile before, I was quite hesitant to try it out and booked it just a couple of hours before the trip. The team at Snowmobile Vermont at Stowe made the whole experience the most comfortable introduction ever. Everything was very patiently explained and the instructional video was the funniest (and useful) I've ever had to sit through.

Out on the trail, they made sure to put us two beginners separately in a group, which helped us not feel pressurized by the more experienced riders. Jason was our guide and he made sure both of us felt comfortable throughout the trip. As a beginner, it was quite easy to get the hang of it - it's not unlike a jet ski - I barely had to touch the brake, and had the time of my life zipping through the trails!

My best friend and I went on a 3pm tour for 2 hours on a tandem snowmobile. We had never ridden a snowmobile. The whole experience was fabulous! The staff was incredibly friendly, the safety information was thorough but not intimidating and the whole tour through the woods was absolutely gorgeous. Our guide's name was Clayton and he was super helpful and extremely nice. We were both a little nervous about not snowmobiling before but he really made us feel comfortable the whole way.

I highly recommend renting the snow pants and the warm boots. The price is really inexpensive and they kept us comfy and warm the whole trip.

Cannot say enough good things! These people have a well organized operation and were super nice and helpful. Our guide Cody was great, he let our party of two double snowmobiles set the pace. Got lucky, Saturday February 8th was a GORGEOUS sunny day after a 14 inch snowfall on Friday. My wife and I had a blast.

If you've ever thought about snowmobiling, I highly recommend Snowmobile Vermont..it was my first time, and it was so much fun. I'll be back for sure.

My boyfriend and I did the Stowe Snowmobile Vermont tour and had the best time! The tour guides are amazing and very helpful. Our tour guide, Luke, made sure that we had the best experience! And we definitely did! I would definitely go back and do it again, it was the highlight of the trip. 100% recommend having any adults drive their own snowmobile for the most enjoyable experience.
