The tour guides were organized, kind, and prioritized our safety. The scenic beauty with trees, mountains, and snow was breathtaking. The thrilling ride matched our experience level, and the smaller group setup enhanced the adventure. Special thanks to Tristan, our guide, for doing an outstanding job! Highly recommend this memorable experience.Visited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten January 26, 2024

- RossanaMelrose, Massachusetts1 contributionWe might have to do this again! :))My friend and I had a great winter experience snowmobiling in Stowe, VT. From the time we arrived, everyone was so helpful, friendly and professional - they made the check-in process a breeze and the safety of all participants a priority. Our guide Chad was AWESOME. He was knowledgeable about the area, helpful and so much fun! Thank you, Chad and Andrea for helping mark snowmobiling off our bucket list!Visited February 2024Traveled with friendsWritten February 8, 2024
- Allison AStuart, Florida202 contributionsAmazing Ride and Beautiful Views! My Mom and I booked this tour for a little excitement. It had been many years since we had snowmobiled. My mom, being 81, was a bit worried about going but she was quickly assured how safe it would be, and how our guide would tailor the tour to our needs and abilities. After being zipped up in snowmobile suits that we rented from them we were shuttled to the site where you take off on your tour from. Our guide was Luke. He went over and above to make sure my Mom felt safe and we had the amazing experience we wanted. I highly recommend him and if you can make such a request ask for Luke to be your guide. Their were two other couples that were riding singles and mom and I on a double. They split us into three groups so you really felt like you had a unique, tailored experience. After Luke was able to access my ability we picked up our pace and on the straight always were going around 28 to 30 MPH. It was exhilarating and so much fun. We stopped a couple times to get some photos of us on the snowmobile. Luke pointed out some recent moose tracks, which was pretty neat. On our last stop for a photo Luke spotted an Eagle far up in the trees. That was an unexpected site. The trails are well maintained and in great shape. I highly recommend this adventure!!! Wish I could go back!Visited February 2024Traveled with friendsWritten February 10, 2024
- Michael EAlbemarle, North Carolina2 contributionsGreat activity when in Stowe.I can't recommend this tour enough! Our guide Cody was great. He was very knowledgeable about the area and took time to get two riders in our group comfortable with the machines. Within a short time, they were riding like pros. Definitely a must when in the Stowe area.Visited February 2024Traveled with familyWritten February 12, 2024
- Maria C2 contributions60th Birthday Snowmobile TourOur tour guide, The Chad, was very knowledgeable and very caring to make sure we had a fun and safe ride! We had a great time, beautiful scenery, nice trails, and detailed instruction on how to operate the snowmobiles. We highly recommend!Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 20, 2024
- Patrick O2 contributionsCouldn't have asked for a better experience!!We flew in to Burlington, VT, and there was no snow anywhere. The day before our snowmobile trip, it began snowing. The day of our excursion, it REALLY snowed! The guides said it was one of the best days all year. The staff was fantastic! They were very enthusiastic to hit the trails themselves! Our guide, Luke, figured out that we were proficient on the snowmobiles, so he took us on amazing trails with twists, turns, and dips...up and down the mountains. Absolutely fantastic experience! We highly recommend this group for winter escapades!!Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 13, 2024

We brought a group and used 14 snowmobiles. We were given four guides. Before riding snowmobiles, we watched a video stating that arrangements would be made if some of the group want to go faster or slower. During the two hour tour, it was obvious that not everyone wanted to go the same speed. While most of our group wanted to go a little faster, 25 to 35 mph, a few wanted to take it slow. Unfortunately, when I asked the guide to change up the order so that those who want to go fast weren’t held up by those going slower, I was told no. I asked at least three times and nothing was changed. Ultimately, a good part of the group was restricted by one or two of our guys who just were not up for riding faster. So, out of a two hour tour a good part of the group was only going 17 to 20 mph average. There was about 20 to 30 minutes where we actually had speeds of over 25 mph.
When I spoke with Mark after the tour, I was told that their first priority was safety and I shouldn’t have brought up the guys that I did if I wanted to go faster. I told him that most of the guys never snowmobiled before and I would not know that fact until after we started. I also told him that I tried to ask his guide three times to change the order and was told “maybe later” by my guide each time (order was never changed).
So, I am sure that your experience would depend on the group you brought and the guide you were given. Although they claim they will make adjustments on the trail, don’t count on it. Or, make sure you clarify that desire before you leave so the guides will actually follow through with what the company says it will do (on its pre-ride training video). Believe me when I say that $184 is way too much money to go 17 mph for an hour and a half. Two hours of snowmobiling can be a real drag if one of your crew doesn’t want to go fast and everyone else is held up by them. Don’t expect the guides to break up the group and go slower with those who are not comfortable while taking others on a faster ride.

Cannot say enough good things! These people have a well organized operation and were super nice and helpful. Our guide Cody was great, he let our party of two double snowmobiles set the pace. Got lucky, Saturday February 8th was a GORGEOUS sunny day after a 14 inch snowfall on Friday. My wife and I had a blast.
If you've ever thought about snowmobiling, I highly recommend Snowmobile Vermont..it was my first time, and it was so much fun. I'll be back for sure.

I just read a terrible review of this business from yesterday. Wondering if it’s legit. Everyone on our tour had a great time. At the beginning while you are learning you go slow but as you get more comfortable they speed up and at the end you get to go on a speed track. They go above and beyond to make sure you have a great time!

Thanks for the review and the extra Kudos after that review that I was so surprised at. We all work really hard to show all customers a good time and meet their expectations. I was surprised nobody knew of the concerns of that other review. Glad to hear Pete and the Stowe crew helped you surpass yours.

Literally one of the best things I have ever done, and so much fun. I was initially fairly nervous about doing this tour, and wondered if you needed to be an adrenaline junkie (which I’m not) but our instructor was excellent and very patient in making sure everyone was comfortable and knew how to control the vehicle. The route through the forest paths was beautiful. It does require some upper body strength, but I found if you went slightly faster and used your body weight to get round the corners this helped a lot.

Wow listing it as one of the best things you have ever done makes us proud. A lot goes into showing you a good time and meeting your expectations. Mount Mansfield State Forest is such a beautiful place I am glad we got to show you that. Thanks for the time you took for the review and see you soon possibly at one of our other 4 locations, Okemo, Killington or Stowe.

Omg-doing this was a BLAST! We did the 4 pm tour so we started when it was light out, we rode through the sunset and then finished in the dark! The trails are incredible and the staff are amazing! Our guide Cody made our tour so fun! Emily who helped with our reservation was just the sweetest most helpful person. I HIGHLY recommend this tour. Absolutely one of the best parts of our vacation.

Fron lthe first contact with them, I felt right at home. They were so helpful in answering all of my questions. Recived a phone call from them about 5 days before leaving on trip to ask me about our expectations and to offer to adjust our reservation time so we wouldn't be with a large corporate group. I was extremely greatful for their thoughtfulness. We did adjust our time and was put with one other couple with the guide. The guide was outstanding and helped to make the experience one to remember. The equipment was first class.

My boyfriend and I did the Stowe Snowmobile Vermont tour and had the best time! The tour guides are amazing and very helpful. Our tour guide, Luke, made sure that we had the best experience! And we definitely did! I would definitely go back and do it again, it was the highlight of the trip. 100% recommend having any adults drive their own snowmobile for the most enjoyable experience.

My wife and I had a great tour on Thurs 1/20/22 with Cali as our tour guide. Great safety and operation review beforehand. Our double seater was in great working order and staff went over precheck with us to make sure we were comfortable in knowing how to operate our snowmobile.
Cali was a great tour guide, checking on us regularly throughout our tour, cautioning us where necessary to look out for tight turns, stops, etc. She made sure we stopped at appropriate intervals to rest and get photos. We loved our tour and highly recommend Snowmobile Vermont! Can't wait to go back!

Although we had both snowmobiled as teens, it had been far too many years to even consider that we had any experience and we were a bit apprehensive. We couldn't have had a more enjoyable time!! From the first phone call with the incredible staff, through making sure that we were properly dressed for warmth and safety, to the video instructions that were repeated once we got to the site, to our totally competent and entertaining guide (Nathan), we had an amazing time! Since we shared a snowmobile, Nathan let us change drivers whenever we felt comfortable. He constantly checked on each of the couples (there were four couples, including us). The trail was beautiful and totally long enough to know that you received more than you paid for. There were participants of all ages and abilities (most with little experience) and the staff and guides went over and above in making sure that our adventure was fun and safe. The trail is gorgeous! We were even met with hot apple cider. We cannot wait to return!!

I grew up riding snowmobiles and as an adult have rented and ridden in CO, PA, NY, and now VT. As far as tours go, this was by far a great cruising tour to go on. Not too long, not too short, and the group sizes were great and tailored to the abilities within your group. Luke was our guide and did a great job keeping us cruising and having fun. Two of my kids (10 and 8) were on their first rides as passengers and loved it. Luke did a great job making them feel comfortable and stopping at the appropriate intervals to make sure everything was still going well. It was a highlight within our vacation and I would recommend them for any skill level.
