Super fun activity for a snowy Vermont vacation!
Mar 2021
We took a backcountry tour in Stowe this March and it was a complete blast! Cody was our guide and he did a great job at gauging the comfort levels of our group (they split the entire tour into three groups by skill level, and then once we got going Cody made sure to continue to make sure our smaller group was comfortable). The trail was absolutely STUNNING and the tour was the perfect amount of time to really get more comfortable on the snow mobiles. I can't wait for my next ride!

Snowmobiling Delight
Mar 2021
We had an AWESOME time. Cody was our guide. We ripped through the woods right up to the speed limit. We even stopped at cafe/bar which is open normally if it wasn't for COVID. The mountain view from this bar was spectacular. We had the dusk tour so we were there during the sunset. I'm so glad we picked this time slot - day and night riding.

So, we've found another activity that we will do in the winter wherever there is lots of snow and plenty of trails.

Highly recommend.

What a perfect afternoon!
Feb 2021 • Family
Our family of 6 rode with Key and Luke and it was so much fun. We all had our own vehicles which made the day amazing. They provided snow boots which was a great decision! We wore our snow pants jacket and used ski gloves. BRING sunglasses! They provided helmets which were all new looking snd clean!
Our guides were great. After the lobby video and some on site reminders we were off and rode for 2 hours. Key and Luke were very attentive and watched each of us closely so we felt very safe! Such a fun day! Definitely a must do!

Best experience!! SO fun!!

My boyfriend and I did the Stowe Snowmobile Vermont tour and had the best time! The tour guides are amazing and very helpful. Our tour guide, Luke, made sure that we had the best experience! And we definitely did! I would definitely go back and do it again, it was the highlight of the trip. 100% recommend having any adults drive their own snowmobile for the most enjoyable experience.

Fun Time!

This was our first time ever snowmobiling and our first time to Vermont. I’m originally from Houston, TX and my husband is from a small town in Alabama. We currently live in Maryland my husband is active duty. We wanted to do something we’ve never done before and when we found this snowmobile tour we knew we had to do it. We researched a lot before hand on what to wear and what to bring due to covid they are limited on what they can rent out to you apparel wise. We arrived early checked in and were very greeted very nice with smiles. We waited for everyone to arrive they talked about the rules and watched a video. Unfortunately there was a couple in our group who did not come prepared at all with gear and waited til the last minute to get what they needed making us late to start our tour which really irritated my husband and I especially because we paid $300. We got to the field and they showed us all the buttons and explained everything we needed to know. Our tour guide was Luke and he was awesome. He kept a close eye on the couple who were not comfortable on the snowmobile and made sure to keep them close to him. He took great pictures and was very friendly. The ride was so cold, but absolutely beautiful. The views were stunning. This is an experience my husband and I will remember always. We recommend it highly!! If you visit Vermont you must do this tour.

slow ride bad guide
Feb 2021 • Friends
We brought a group and used 14 snowmobiles. We were given four guides. Before riding snowmobiles, we watched a video stating that arrangements would be made if some of the group want to go faster or slower. During the two hour tour, it was obvious that not everyone wanted to go the same speed. While most of our group wanted to go a little faster, 25 to 35 mph, a few wanted to take it slow. Unfortunately, when I asked the guide to change up the order so that those who want to go fast weren’t held up by those going slower, I was told no. I asked at least three times and nothing was changed. Ultimately, a good part of the group was restricted by one or two of our guys who just were not up for riding faster. So, out of a two hour tour a good part of the group was only going 17 to 20 mph average. There was about 20 to 30 minutes where we actually had speeds of over 25 mph.

When I spoke with Mark after the tour, I was told that their first priority was safety and I shouldn’t have brought up the guys that I did if I wanted to go faster. I told him that most of the guys never snowmobiled before and I would not know that fact until after we started. I also told him that I tried to ask his guide three times to change the order and was told “maybe later” by my guide each time (order was never changed).

So, I am sure that your experience would depend on the group you brought and the guide you were given. Although they claim they will make adjustments on the trail, don’t count on it. Or, make sure you clarify that desire before you leave so the guides will actually follow through with what the company says it will do (on its pre-ride training video). Believe me when I say that $184 is way too much money to go 17 mph for an hour and a half. Two hours of snowmobiling can be a real drag if one of your crew doesn’t want to go fast and everyone else is held up by them. Don’t expect the guides to break up the group and go slower with those who are not comfortable while taking others on a faster ride.
