Fun to kayak down the river. Beautiful and peaceful. The water is so clear. Numerous spots to stop and swim or just relax.

As someone else wrote, it is not in Stowe, but 30 minutes north on 108, it passes by Jeffersonville. Bring your canoe or kayak and take a break from the modern world. Better yet, use one of the outfitters to rent the boats and transport you up-river, so you can just get in your car when done. We use "Bert's... More

The Lamoille River is not in Stowe, Vermont. Its north of Stowe going through Morrisville, Hyde Park & Johnson on its way to Lake Champlain.

We live on the Lamoille River, it is great for canoeing, fishing and wading. We bring our dog down for a swim when it gets hot out. They have a canoeing tour company based out of Jeffersonville, Vermont that takes groups on canoe tours

We rented from Vermont Canoe and Kayak in June - the service was friendly and accommodating. But $70 is way overpriced for a double kayak for a 2 hour slow paddle. The scenery was not as mountainous as we hoped either. Would not do this again - but would look to paddle somewhere else in the larger area.

Took the kayaks out and floated down the stream. Very pleasant and relaxing. Nothing strenuous, so go for the solitude it will provide.

We took a canoe tour with the Umiak Canoes and Kayaks guides. Love the winding river trip, shallow and gentle current, through the green farmland in that area of Vermont. Views of the mountains off in the distance, and an easy paddle down the river that ends at a lovely little winery. Unfortunately the Umiak Tour group is not available... More
