My wife had two Spa treatments during the day and was extremely happy with the treatments and the people who gave them, that's the good part. Now the not so good.... First, a gratuity is given for a job well done not for doing your job. When the Spa "for your convenience" adds 22% to your bill for a gratuity before you start anything rubs me the wrong way. I will admit I missed the fine print at the bottom of the Spa menu stating this, and might have looked elsewhere if I did see it. Next, while my wife was getting her treatments I swam in the pool (we were staying at the resort). While taking a break sitting on one of the lounge chairs it started to get crowded. I then saw a lady come over to the hot tub and ask the person in there if she could turn off the waterfall because it was too loud. Then, she went over to the pool to conduct a water aerobics class for the next hour which essentially closed the pool. I would have been fine with this if it was mentioned ANYWHERE that this was going to be going on today.

I stayed At Topnotch resort and got three massages while I was there. Two out of three of the massages were pretty terrible! The Lomi Lomi Hawaiian massage actually hurt me several times. I told the masseuse I had a thumb injury and not to touch it but she ended up yanking my thumb and causing tremendous pain. And then another part of my body I would say: “Ouch! That hurt!” and she would barely respond. It was the most uncomfortable massage I’ve ever had. I just wanted it to end. And I’ve had this type of massage in Hawaii before and it was wonderful while I was in Hawaii. Just didn’t feel like real Lomi Lomi massage. I also got a signature massage and this was just very very average not great. The only massage that was good was the shiatsu. The spa itself is quite ordinary. The women’s Jacuzzi has almost no pressure in the jets, so it’s sort of useless. Some of the showers have almost no water pressure so if you have long hair it will take you half an hour to wash your hair. The blowdryers are not that great. All in all, it’s just a very average spa. I am completely shocked that it gets touted as best spa in Vermont. This must mean there really are no good spas in Vermont sadly. I would not go back.

Spa regulars around the world and multiple times at Topnotch over the years. Topnotch is in need of freshening up. Treatments were still excellent. Staff very skillful. The woman’s lounge needs upgrading. Steam room never gets really hot, and the grout on the tile throughout the spa, pools and hot tubs looks dingy and falling apart. There is no swimsuit dryer; people talk loudly in the lounge and are on cell phones in the locker room and in the lounge. The restaurant near the spa was closed by 1 pm so lunch was offered in the main restaurant. Not the spa vibe one looks for at this price point.

I had a spa appointment that had to be cancelled by them because the weather was too dangerous for the girls to drive in, i was so understanding as of course their safety is top priority. I was so impressed at how hard the spa (Justyne)worked to reschedule and accommodate me for the following day. Kyla gave me a great haircut and beard trim and she was super friendly and ensured i was satisfied before i left. The pool are was also great and very clean (wish it was open later).

My husband and I visited the Spa at Topnotch for our first anniversary. He surprised me with an 80 minute Ten Bends Beer Massage and I can confidently say it was the best massage I've ever received! I highly recommend Bobby as your masseur - he asked plenty of questions ahead of time to be sure that the massage was exactly what I was looking for. From the fireside lounge prior to the massage, to the outdoor hot tub amongst beautiful scenery, it was truly a heavenly experience. Be sure to bring your swimsuit!
