You can get a family gondola pass for $35 if you call in advance (up to 8 people), which makes this a much better deal than Stowe where you pay the same amount per person. We chose to hike down which was fun. There are...More

Stratton is great many groomed and ungroomed trails. Even on a crowded weekend they mover skiers around the mountian pretty fast but if you can get up there durning the week you’ll have the mountian to yourself.

Stratton Mtn is a very special place located in Vermont lots of hidden gems on this mountain... I would recomend that you get here at least once in your lifetime.

You can certainly hike to the top if the gondola is not operating. It takes about an hour to hike up. If it is too much for your kids you could turn around at any point, some will hike to the mid-mountain lodge and return... More

Yes, there are many rental options at the base. Try renting at Obertal if you have a family but make sure the Tamarack chair is operating otherwise you will have to hoof it a few hundred yards to the main base.
