About
The successful restoration of Rutland Vermont's Paramount Theatre was completed in February 2000 and an Opening Night Gala in March 2000 honored the artisans and contributors who made the historic project possible. With 838 seats in one of the most beautiful buildings in New England, we offer a unique approach to live event production. Once again, the Paramount Theatre has assumed its role as an arts, cultural, and educational leader, and as a significant and valuable community resource. We’re proud of what we have to offer and hope that you will support us in celebrating community and creativity.

What a little gem this place is!! This was our first concert in almost 3 yrs thanks to Covid and we are so glad we took the chance! I saw the Ten Tenors were playing and we decided to give it a go! First off, they do not use Ticketmaster which to me was a huge plus! Tickets were affordable and easy to buy directly. We had great seats but the theater is small enough to make any seat personal. The staff at the theater were super friendly and helpful, they must love their jobs. The theater itself is beautifully ornate. Beer and wine available.

Everyone was rocking!!! This was a very good concert to attend! I was enjoying it so much that the ending was rather brutal! The theater has been nicely fixed up too!!

Located at 30 Center Street, Rutland Vermont, this theater is very nice for a mid-size show. Located no more than 2 minutes off Route 7, and one street over from Route 4 (Business/Downtown), the location is very good.

We saw Celtic Thunder (who were excellent as always!) there on a Sunday. The stage is pretty small so I would encourage patrons not to sit in the wings on the first or second level. Sound for the show was very good, not too loud which can occur in this kind of venue. There are some restaurants located on the same block but you will need to review what is there in advance as the variety is quite limited. There is a parking garage on Wales Street. just around the corner from the venue, no more than a 5 minute walk. Cost for the garage after 6:00pm in only $2.00. On Sundays, there is no taxi service in Rutland so be prepared to drive over if you are staying in a hotel.

Seats are not new but we were quite comfortable. We would return to this theater for a similar show.

We attended a Jack Hanna Wild Animal show. Never would have guessed in Rutland Vermont but very pleasant surprise. Easy access to theater with large parking garage across the street...$3 for all day parking...are you kidding me?!?! I come from a place where $3 an hour is a deal! Small clean theater that has been obviously refurbished to what it was years ago. Small enough to have good seating anywhere. The other couple that traveled with us sat in balcony and felt the same way. The program looks like they host some very decent acts for a small community. Very enjoyable time at the Paramount and great show.

This beautiful 100 year old theatre has been lovingly restored and brings many top national performances and artists to its' stage. Although the theatre seats about 800 people, every seat has a great view and exceptional sound. Check out the season's line up before you plan your trip to the region!

This is the first time we went here. This is a very nice venue. There is not bad seat in the balcony for an excellent view of the stage. The seats are very small and the seat in front of you is very close. My husband had to sit awkwardly because his knees hit the back of the seat in front of him. Nicely decorated and air conditioned. Staff was very nice and helpful.

The theater is very nice, but the seating is close and tight. I am very short yet my knees touched the seat in front of me. My much taller husband and my daughter had the same problem. No matter where you sit in this theater though, it seems you have a good view of the stage. We were seated in the Loge area and had perfect view of the concert. The front of the theater was a surprise and we drove past it the first time while trying to find it as It just looked like a normal store front. I was expecting a more traditional theater entrance such as the Stanley Theater in Utica, NY for this age and style theater. The bathroom facilities were inadequate for the amount of people during the intermission.

The Paramount has an attractive auditorium and is likely to keep people coming downtown for reasonably priced live theater. Perhaps it was an off day, but the condition of the men's toilets was unconscionably unhygienic. I can only think (or hope) that maintenance personnel were sick the day of my visit, and no one thought to check out the bathrooms. Toilet seat covers would have helped. I agree that there are good sight lines from all of the seats. However, it should be noted that the seats are narrow. While recognizing that the number of seats impacts revenues, it is a shame that some consideration wasn't given to the growing heft of audiences.

My family and I went to see "Stomp" at the Paramount. The show was amazing. The theater is beautifully restored and small enough that there isn't a bad seat in the house. The seating is a little cramped like many old venues, but that's part of the charm. The staff was friendly. The show was great. The only negative is that the temperature was so hot inside that it was uncomfortable to sit through the entire show (this is February in Vermont . . . heat is good, but most people were dressed in winter attire and the heat was excessive). We were in the balcony seats, so maybe the heat was just rising from the lower levels and the main floor may be more comfortable. It's worth going there just to see the beauty of the restoration :-)

I saw Joe Bonamassa here, and if you didn't know his music already, you would have hated him. No nuance, no distinction between base or other instrument -- just noise. This is a guy who plays both acoustic and electric guitar with sensitivity; his vocals are powerful, and his backup is outstanding. Couldn't hear any of that in this venue - the amplification was ear-splitting for sure, but with no art. The seats are so small that even small people (short and skinny) were uncomfortable. Long-legged folks had to sit with their legs split otherwise they were smack up against the seat back in front of them.

Hello - You seem to have us confused with another Paramount Theatre (there are a few across the US). Joe Bonamassa, though a wonderful musician, has not yet played our stage. Perhaps it is The Paramount in Oakland, CA you are referencing?
