Very nice store & cafe
May 2021
Terrific store for bakers & people who like kitchen gadgets. Attached bakery & cafe. There is also a hiking trail from the parking lot - nice trail thru the woods (use bug spray first!)

Day trip from Saratoga Springs
Apr 2021 • Friends
Great to stop for baking supplies and a sandwich. Nicer in warm weather when can sit outside at their picnic tables. Not busy at all during Covid. Croissant and hot cross buns are not best from a private bakery standpoint. Could use more fruit and chocolate but they have any item for baking you would need. Who ever heard of Vietnamese Cinammon but they have it.

Great bread baking class!
Nov 2020
Took the basic bread 101 class for 3 hours and it was a BLAST! Sharon really knew her stuff and made it fun. They help your make 3 items, a loaf, a braid and pull-apart rolls. I highly recommend it. They did mention that "in person" classes might be going away due to current COVID issues, but I'd recommend the virtual opportunities! If you're a baker (or even want to start) this school is GREAT! NOTE: if you stay at the Six Street Hotel in Hanover, mention that you are taking the class and you get a discounted rate!

COVID ALERT. Employees don't have to wear masks.
Nov 2020
COVID ALERT!!!!

KABC allows its employees to wear face shields instead of masks. These provide ZERO protection to other people whom the employee works with or for customers who go in there and SURPRISE!

EXPOSURE in a place people expect a treat.
And the managers are unresponsive if you say something. They either shrug or give some irrelevant excuse, like "some employees can't wear masks." Really? That should not be a customer problem, but that's where they are with this.

MORE LUDICROUS STILL. Although I don't mind having my temperature taken or would quibble with that requirement, this is nonsensical if employees are hanging out with no masks on.

FURTHER. KABC has signs EVERYWHERE demanding that everyone wear a FABRIC MASK. And they don't seem to have realized that if face shields were an acceptable option, everyone would be wearing them. THEY AREN'T.

And if you still want your treats, yep, you can order them online, but you have to go inside to pick them up. Zero protection from COVID.

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts, which we take seriously. Preventing illness among our visitors and our team is our top priority, and you’ll be glad to know that we continue to build on our already extensive measures to promote a safe and healthy environment. One very recent addition to our preventative measures are non-touch temperature reading stations at both building entries, which all parties must use and (1) obtain a reading below 100.4°F and (2) register a mask in order to enter. You’re correct that one of our team members who works a limited number of weekly hours is permitted to wear a face shield in lieu of the cloth mask. This decision was made in consultation with our Safety team and with full review of CDC recommendations regarding when exceptions are permissible. All other King Arthur employee-owners at the facility wear cloth masks. As you’ve indicated, all customers also have the option of ordering either via phone or over the TOAST app. While we provide a quick and easy indoor route for picking up orders, we think you’ll be glad to know that we also accommodate requests for curbside pickup and are more than happy to bring orders to a customer’s vehicle in about 10 minutes of ordering. We have parking spaced dedicated for Pickup Only outside the building in our small parking lot nearest to the bus stop on Route 5. Right alongside our dedication to safe practices, the comfort of our customers is also important. Understanding that you may prefer this option, we encourage you to take advantage of our curbside pickup offering whenever you’d like. Our phone number is (802) 649-3361. Kindly, Jesse@KA

A baker's delight
Sep 2020
Great trip to the baking company on our anniversary trip to VT. We started with breakfast - no seating inside due to covid, but it was warm enough to sit outside the day we were there. Cappucinos were good, and chocolate croissant was great! my husband's egg sandwich had a huge amount of egg, but needed more cheese and meat - could hardly taste that with the mound of egg. After, we visited the store. Layed out beautifully, and such a variety of items including baking pans and tools, spices, bread, special baking chips, etc. Items were pricey, but it was fun exploring The store is big and bright and spacious. A baker's delight. We will be back!

Always a treat
Sep 2020 • Couples
Stopped at King Arthurs for breakfast and then took the time to go around the store to do some shopping. They have fantastic baked goods for breakfast, I had a sticky bun that was super and the egg sandwiches are large enough to split. I love the store, I always find something I want to try there. Last time it was scone mix and this time it was a Lava cake mix. They have a great selection of kitchen towels that make great gifts

BEST experience
Sep 2020
Love it there! The baking supplies and products are top-notch. People are friendly, everyone was social distancing, and my visit was a great experience. I'll definitely be back!

Length of visit will depend on whether you want to shop and/or visit the cafe. I just shopped on this trip. Chairs are set up outdoors, but it was drizzling, so I didn't stay.

Bread baking made easy!
Aug 2020
Took the Bread 101 baking class and was so impressed with the instruction and teacher. Class was social distanced with only 8 participants. Really felt I learned a lot even though I have been baking for years. Be prepared to take home a bag of baked goods not just a bread! Recommend to anybody who likes to bake and those who are afraid of bread, they make it easy! Hope to take another class in the future.

Great specialty baking shop!
Jul 2019
What a great store! I wish we had one in Virginia. It was a good thing we were driving on this trip or I would have needed a suitcase just for what I bought here. Lots of great specialty products. Load up on any flour you can't find at your local market. The little bistro inside was great too.

I LOVE this place!
Mar 2020
I have taken baking lessons from King Arthur Flour several times. The teaching chefs are clear in their instructions and helpful. Additionally, great food (pastries, etc.) are brought in with coffee for a help yourself deal. The prices in the store are expensive, but they have everything. I purchased sourdough starter and a few other things. We also had a very nice lunch in their restaurant. Very very good and very inexpensive. I plan on visiting every 3 months or so.
