Halpin covered bridge
Jun 2019
Drive through the country side checking out the foliage take Painter Rd to a fork (we did not identify the fork as a fork and drove by it--turned around when we realized mistake). The fork is Halpin Rd. Take Halpin Rd and turn onto Halpin Covered Bridge Road. We did not go over the bridge because of the sharp left turn to do so. Nice unpainted bridge in the countryside.

Beautiful tranquil spot. All put together with wooden pegs. Astonishing craftsmanship and very peaceful spot.

A small treasure if you can find it
Apr 2018 • Business
This is a very out of the way covered bridge on a semi-private road on private property. Be sure to ask before wandering too far away from the bridge owing to the privacy of the families who live there. Still, though, if you need to see every covered bridge in VT then this one is a must.

small cover Bridge

Nothing interest me.It is just small cover bridge.
The Halpin Bridge is a 66 foot long Town Lattice Truss. It carries Halpin Lane over Muddy Branch of the New-Haven River. This bridge was built in 1824.

Fun to see
Oct 2016 • Couples
We took a ride through the covered bridge. It was a fun little adventure. Apparently, there is a legend that if you close your eyes and make a wish, it will come through. Of course the driver is out of luck because you can't stop while inside the bridge :)

Hard to find with GPS
Sep 2016 • Family
Had some trouble finding this on GPS, but we asked a local and got great directions. It is a beautiful covered bridge, no one was there, area to park near it, surrounded by small farms, just lovely.

This was a pleasant surprise, and we talked our walking tour guides into letting us stop to take pix.

Nice Experience
Jul 2016 • Couples
Some areas of New England have a lot of covered bridges. none the less, each visit is a nice touch with the past. Certainly, if you are in the area it is worth the time to visit. Nothing mystical or magical or different about this bridge, but still, it is a "covered bridge". I have visited a lot, driven across most, and enjoy to contact with the past. Our adult daughter is working in the area, we decided to check out the Halpin Bridge during a visit today. The experience was not unusual, but still had the profound feeling of "connection" to the past. Easy access!

For a walk or swim
Aug 2014
A beautiful, small covered bridge providing access to just one home. It offers an excellent walking opportunity, with views over a waterfall below and a beautiful swimming hole below the bridge.

Located NE of town, take the road for the winery, take a right a bit after the winery, then a left. It's out of the way so traffic isn't a problem. It's nothing fancy but it does have some charm.
