We found these trails to be very colorful during our visit in mid-October! We did not reach the mid- to upper elevations but thoroughly enjoyed the 3 lower trails that we followed. There are maps available and there are some on the actual trails. Look for the colored markings on the trees to be sure...each trail corresponds with a different color.

These trails look wonderful but they are impossible to find. There is no map showing how to get to any of the trailheads and the road that appears to go in there is a private road with metal gates at the end. Even The visitor center which had a very unhelpful snippy woman Manning it on the day I was there, could give me no advice except perhaps to park at the high school or at the post office and walk over. I am from out of town and had done many local hikes but find Manchester a very difficult tourist spot. If anyone has information on how to access these trails that would be specific enough for someone who is not from this area I wish you would post it.

The address Listed for the preservation trust is not a destination for recreation. The reviews in this section talk about three distinct recreational choices in the Manchester area. The scenic Drive is located on 7a south of Manchester and it’s a beautiful experience.

Skyline Dr, Sunderland, VT 05250
Go here for a drive up the mountain to an incredible Mountain top observation point. Breathtaking unique views in all directions and a short hike to another observation point. $20 per car +5 dollars each additional person to driver.
Another place mentioned in many Of the reviews is a hike around a pond. This has nothing to do with the skyline Drive and the access point to it is behind the equinox golf club and hotel. A third mention in these reviews is the pew trail. This is a nice heavily forested hiking trail and is accessed in Manchester and has a small parking area. It is not connected in anyway to the skyline Drive.

It was a nice drive that didn't make me feel unsafe. The views at the top are awesome and we learned about the history of the mountain and the monks. We drove down in low gear and it was great. Would reccomend!

Really must do, takes about an hour all in, with walk at the top. Fabulous drive and views. All in very safe and sound condition.

Trails are excellently marked. Many "You are here" signs with maps. We did not tackle the difficult trails.

Great views of the area, and a beautiful ride. Hard to get in on busy weekends, but going early in the morning seemed to work. Worth the price - though is not cheap!

The hike was our first "very difficult" hike. It is what true exercise is really all about. The trail was steep, rocky, and "unrelenting" at times. We were so proud to get to the top in 2hrs and 10 min. Make sure you bring lots of water, and snacks...you'll need it!
