There are 2 buildings with local art on display in a nice rural setting. It will take an hour to go through the entire exhibit, but there is nothing jaw dropping on display. The grounds with the woods, and scattered modern sculpture works is the most appealing feature.

This Arts Center is a jewel. Situated on a welcoming site with different sculpture pieces that lead you to the two buildings on property. There are two buildings; one seems more museum like and the other houses multiple pieces of art (for sale) spread over two levels. The art is eclectic and includes photography as well. It is well worth... More

We've been here many times but this time of year they have local artists works on display that can also be purchased. There are many galleries on both floors and art work tends toward natural scenery but there are other areas of art covered as well as sculptures. There is also the permanent collection and the sculptures that dot the... More

We had a free afternoon in Manchester, and didn't want to spent it shopping, so we found this gem! Really, whatever your tastes in art, I think you'll really enjoy a visit.

I recently viewed David Brewster's paintings at SVAC and commended the Center on its handsome exhibition rooms, indirect lighting and appropriate temperature. The Center provides year-round activities and exhibitions for the community and its visitors. There is nothing quite comparable in the area.

Just taking the ride up the mountain to this small but wonderful museum is worth visiting. Along the way up there is interesting sculptures along the way. The museum is house in an old Manchester mansion and some new buildings. There is nice cafe. Also, this is the summer site of the excellent Manchester Music Festival.

We visited the SVAC this summer and throughly enjoyed all of the paintings and photography in the Yester House Gallery. We attended an open house and were very fortunate to see the exciting glass exhibit in the Wilson museum too! We were treated to delicious finger foods, desserts, punch and wine. The cucumber sandwiches are the best along with chocolate... More

This is about 20 minutes of a detour off the main road. The entry road winds up the hillside past attractive sculptures. Entry is free to the beautiful buildings. Unfortunately, the art on display was so-so, and it took less than an hour to see everything. Was I expecting more? The grounds are beautiful, and the galleries hit or miss... More

We recently moved to this area from Chicago. We assumed we would have to go to NYC for quality music performances. Not so! We tried Southern Vermont Arts Center for a jazz concert. Loved it!! Went back for a classical concert. Loved it even more!! Can't wait for the next one!!! The facility is perfect for the beautiful rural setting.... More

It has been many years since I had visited the Southern Vermont Arts Center. This is in their handsome new location: a stunningly beautiful estate with several buildings, including the main building with numerous exhibits b y local artists. Some art is on display in the grounds too, making it a very attractive place to visit during the warmer months.... More
