John and his crew did a wonderful job of planning my birthday weekend! There were 12 of us with different skill levels, ability's and interests. They were able to challenge all of us...but not too much! The food was outstanding! The accommodations had character and traditional new England charm.

I spent four days hiking and kayaking with John and his crew, and it was a great experience. John meets with you each morning to plan the day, so you have lots of flexibility to hike more or less depending on your mood and the weather. Lesley and Michelle are both knowledgable about the trails and a lot of fun.... More

This was a great trip with Appalachian Trail Adventures and the Summit Lodge. John and his team were outstanding. Everyone was very encouraging and helpful. The climb to Killington Peak was a hike I will never forget. Vermont is amazing. Michelle and Leslie were my guides and we left as friends. What more could anyone asked for. Thank you so... More

Wow - what a great week we had with John, Leslie and Michelle of Appalachian Trail Adventures. We hiked every day, kayaked for miles and had our first caving experience which was thrilling, exhausting and all of it rewarding. We have traveled extensively and taken amazing vacations - safari in Kenya - glacial hikes in Alaska - diving in the... More

John and his staff were fun, friendly, and knowledgeable and truly seemed to enjoy exploring with us. The food (which is included in the package) was amazing- huge, delicious portions. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone looking for an outdoor... More

My daughter and I chose Appalachian Trail Adventures and the Summit Lodge for our annual "women's only" weekend. We both enjoy hiking and wanted to do something more than just lie on a beach. We got so much more than we expected! Our guide, John, took us to explore a local ice cave that required some challenging maneuvers to get... More

I just returned to the charming Summit Lodge after a half-day of hiking to a waterfall on the "AT" (that's Appalachian Trail for anyone out there like me) followed by a nutritious lunch on the shore of a sky blue lake nestled in the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont topped off with an afternoon of kayaking. My attraction to ATA... More

The Summit Lodge was very nice, with two pools, hot tub and special hikers room. The food was delicious and plentiful. The Foundry for dinner was convenient, just a stroll down the hill. Appalachian Trail Adventures guides John, Leslie and Michelle were accommodating, fun and encouraging. If you want a carefree, adventurous vacation do not hesitate to use this company.... More

I could not be more pleased with my ATA experience. The options and flexibility were what impressed me most. John, the "host," met our group each morning and was able to tailor the day's activities to everyone's interests, experience levels, and even the weather. Guides Michelle and Leslie were outstanding: friendly, knoweldgeable, *patient*, and fun. I did not take advantage... More
