My daughter and I chose Appalachian Trail Adventures and the Summit Lodge for our annual "women's only" weekend. We both enjoy hiking and wanted to do something more than just lie on a beach. We got so much more than we expected! Our guide, John, took us to explore a local ice cave that required some challenging maneuvers to get... More

I just returned to the charming Summit Lodge after a half-day of hiking to a waterfall on the "AT" (that's Appalachian Trail for anyone out there like me) followed by a nutritious lunch on the shore of a sky blue lake nestled in the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont topped off with an afternoon of kayaking. My attraction to ATA... More

The Summit Lodge was very nice, with two pools, hot tub and special hikers room. The food was delicious and plentiful. The Foundry for dinner was convenient, just a stroll down the hill. Appalachian Trail Adventures guides John, Leslie and Michelle were accommodating, fun and encouraging. If you want a carefree, adventurous vacation do not hesitate to use this company.... More

My friend and I decided to try hiking for the first time--at age 42!! John, Leslie, and Michelle were outstanding guides and wonderful people!! They all made us feel 100% welcome and assisted us with any questions or concerns we could think of to ask them. It was such a great time, and we even tried caving!! I would highly... More

I could not be more pleased with my ATA experience. The options and flexibility were what impressed me most. John, the "host," met our group each morning and was able to tailor the day's activities to everyone's interests, experience levels, and even the weather. Guides Michelle and Leslie were outstanding: friendly, knoweldgeable, *patient*, and fun. I did not take advantage... More

We decided to take a 4 day vacation on my birthday week. Having experienced and enjoyed kayaking recently, we wanted to take a vacation that included kayaking. We thought of going to a state that we've never visited before and Vermont was one of them. I stumbled across Appalachian Trail Adventures while researching kayaking vacations in Vermont, and we quickly... More

We were there for 4 nights/5 days and John was at the breakfast table every morning asking us about the plan for the day and ready to do his best to help up enjoy.... More

We had a great four days of kayaking and hiking. John and his guides are very knowledgeable of the trails, rivers, and lakes and will find day outings that best suit your interests. They were great in modifying plans based on our interests, including seeing Killington's fourth of july parade and stopping for cheese at the Calvin Coolidge Homestead. Be... More

I have had a great experience with Appalachian Trail Adventures. The founder, John, and one of his guides Michelle took us on an unforgettable (roughly 2.5 hours) kayaking trip along a river in the green mountains of VT. The views were great and so was the kayaking. It was easy to plan and John was flexible with us and catered... More

My husband and I chose a VT hiking getaway for our anniversary trip and we are so glad we did! John and his guides Leslie and Michelle were incredible! We couldn't have asked for better people to spend time with in the mountains of VT. Our two guided hikes and kayaking excursions were just perfect. John has thought of all... More
