Mountain Bliss
Aug 2021
We drove to the top on a sunny August day. We hiked around the trails and marveled at the nature and silence. The smoke from the far off wildfires clouded any views. Mountain bikers shared the mountain. It was an amazing morning.

Rehearsal Dinner/Welcome Party
Aug 2021 • Friends
We recently stayed at the resort as we were attending my son's wedding in the area. We held the rehearsal dinner and welcome party at the resort and could not have been more pleased.
Cedelle and Becky were the best in making sure our special night went off without a hitch. Tim and the wait staff did a fine job too! Everyone very friendly and helpful.
Most of the wedding guests stayed at the resort in the clean, spacious and comfortable rooms. Our view of the Gap was stunning too.
Two thumbs up to the resort and staff

Would you like your own, private ski area?
Feb 2020
My wife and I ski regularly at Burke Mt...On weekdays, we roll out of bed from our nearby house as late as we like and are on the Mt. by 10...and its all yours...There are no lines, no crowds, even the celebrated ski academy (Mikaela Shiffrin trained there) has its own dedicated lift and trail.

When it is fully open (takes a bit longer than the mega resorts) the upper mountain provides a sweet variety of well groomed dark blues that tend to go straight down the mountain and are therefor quite consistently challenging for the average intermediate.

I can't speak for the quality of the tree skiing, nor the ungroomed blacks, but suspect that they don't compare to big brother Jay; 40 minutes or so up the road.

But if you have young uns with you or are a novice adult, the lower mountain is one of the more perfect places to develop skills.

There is a moving carpet for beginners (not teeny-tiny either), followed by a T-bar which opens a substantial novice slope. Once you master that run, you can take the lower mountain chair, which opens a wide but lengthy green, perfect for further skill development with even two light blues available.

The whole is perhaps among the best beginning to novice area in Vermont and the main chair is modern and fast.

Combine all of this with being able to observe the training of some of the hottest, young skiers in the world, a new large scale hotel situated right between the upper and lower mountain and you have the perfect recipe for a family ski week.

And weekends? Yeah, there are a few more people, you might have to wait 45 seconds to get on the lift.

Burke is such a gem for family skiing and biking, I'm tempted to keep it a secret. Burke Mt is genuine Vermont with all the best of yesterday and today on and off the slopes. Loved the slopes, loved View Pub with its awesome views, loved the food, and most of all loved the family time there.

Hidden Gem!
Jan 2020
Our family was staying nearby for Christmas break. My sons are beginner skiers snowboarders and this is a perfect mountain for them. The most amazing thing was that the mountain was never crowded even during the break. Totally worth the extra 2 hours to pass the massive, packed, southern Vermont ski resorts. Pre-purchase lift tickets and rentals on Liftopia. Economical compared to southern Vermont.

We Only Went to Burke Mountain
Oct 2019
Paid our $5 and drove up and up and up the toll road. Beautiful views wherever one looked. Being near the prime color season, the views very very colorful. Of course we saw the ski runs, WOW! They were getting the snow makers and ski runs ready for the season. Beautiful fun drive, beautiful views. To the north, we saw a valley between two mountains, we later discovered that this was Lake Willoughby. Well worth the trip from Smugglers Notch.

Rooms are very spacious. We had a studio suite with a little kitchenette. Everything was clean and new. Kip was really responsive to all of our needs. Really nice and helpful person. The restaurant is kid friendly. Ben was really nice to the kids. Loved the hiking vacation.

Great terrain, super nice staff!

1st time to Burke Mountain, loved it. It isn't the biggest mountain on the East Coast but definitely had some challenging terrain and great people. Highly recommend checking it out if you love good skiing/riding and are in the area.
