About
Largest Maze in New England. In 2020 advance reservations required due to pandemic. All reservations made on website. See website for updates and changes due to pandemic. Opens August 1st. 7 days a week, weather permitting. BEST time for mazing is mid-August to mid-September when corn is at it's best. Closing day varies due to how well the corn holds up. Two mazes. Big maze is a Black Diamond Maze and can take 2+ hours to hike. Scenic maze is smaller and is about a 40 min walk. Enjoyed most by adult couples and parents who enjoy adventures with their young children. 90% of teens do not enjoy mazing. Also, World's first Barnyard Golf, friendly dwarf goats and Lowline angus cows. PRETENDIN play area is closed in 2020 due to pandemic. Recommend following our map from website since not all GPS are accurate in our area. Popular October Haunted event- DEAD NORTH, sells out every year. Tickets for DEAD NORTH must be purchased online and go on sale in August.

So much fun!
Sep 2020
It was my second walk-in maze in my life. The first was made from wooden walls. This one was more fun. It's huge and it's not an easy task. We heard it takes around 2h to solve it and that was approximately our time. At some point, I was frustrated that I can't solve it but I didn't give up. There are emergency exits and you can do a smaller maze if you don't feel like walking for 2h. But big maze is more fun, gives you enormous satisfaction when you solve it, and gives you some workout as you keep walking all the time. I also admire the people who design it and the fact that each year it's a different maze.

After 2 hrs, fun gives way to frustration in this massive mase
Aug 2020
It's kind of hard to rate this because it's ... well, it's a giant corn maze. Well done. But it's also large, hard-to-navigate maze. There's no way to strategically move your way through this maze, no clues to navigate it efficiently. (The only other corn maze I'd done before had puzzles to solve that helped navigate the maze, an approach more like playing a game than backtracking and trial-and-error to conquer a labyrinth.) To "solve" this maize maze, you just ... wander ... potentially for hours.

When you're in the maze the corn is easily 8-10 feet tall, so there's no view of the maze to enjoy. A few "areas" have novelties like a boat on a sea of corn, or random statues placed in a large clearing area. We saw one clue that offered a little guidance, but that was about it for help. There are some maze staff who'll move you along if you need help. But the main selling point appears to be the duration you will walk through the maze. After about 2 hours, we were told we'd hit the halfway point, and we decided the whole thing had become more frustrating and obnoxious than fun. Another hour or two of walking around the mostly featureless and repetitive paths through the corn did not seem enticing. So we opted for the brown doors and the scenic maze. In all, it took us about 2.5 hours until we hit the finish, and we felt we'd seen all there really was to see.

All of which is to say, yeah, this is a really big confusing maze, exactly as advertised. If that's your thing, you'll love it. If you're OK with making your way though by trial and error, you'll have a grand time. Don't come thinking you can think your way through the maze or find clues for a faster route. Be prepared to hike up and down hill and retrace your steps to make slowly progress. I would bet young kids would get bored rather quickly. Due to COVID, some of the fun things to do at the maze's exit (like a little mini town and other games) were closed, but a normal year would probably have more to offer for those who wanted to quit the maze early.

What a blast!
Jul 2020
While researching fun summer activities in Vermont, I came across the Great Vermont Corn Maze. Each fall, my husband and I do a large corn maze in Lancaster, PA, which is really fun, but I have to say this one was much larger, more complicated, and very fun! Due to COVID-19, advance tickets must be purchased which actually made for a really nice experience because it was not crowded at all. We had 9:10am tickets on a Saturday morning (opening day!) and saw and heard virtually no one else in the maze the entire time. Definitely read the instructions and come prepared with food and water - they aren't joking! We were able to get out of the maze, but it took three hours, 6 miles of walking, and 1,100' of elevation gain! We would definitely recommend this maze to maize maze lovers!

Amazing Corn Maze
Sep 2019 • Family
We have visited several corn mazes all over New England and this one is the best. We visited with the goats before entering the maze and had a great talk with the owner and designer. He gave us the story behind the maze.

Great layout with lots of routes and enjoyed trying to find all the punches and cool areas like the bears hill and the boat.

Highly recommend spending a few hours at this maze. Took us almost 3 hours and walked close to 6 miles. Nothing else near here so bring lots of snacks and drinks.

Great fun!

Lots of fun for couples or families.
- The folks running it are great. Really passionate about what they're doing and it was enjoyable talking with them.
- The corn stalks are huge and the maze was very large, so it's challenging as well as fun.
- Just when you think you have things figured out, you find out you're taking a wrong turn (that's part of the fun).
- Wear comfortable shoes because you'll certainly do some walking.

Definitely an entertaining activity.

My husband and I did this on our way home from New Hampshire on a whim. I had never done a maze before and husband had never done one this big or impressive. 24 acres. Average is 2 hours for a healthy adult couple. We did it in an hour 50 minutes by teaming up with a family of 4 for the last 15-20 minutes or so. If you want to go for a leisurely stroll or your kids are complete brats who hate walking and are really grouchy or hungry then the big maze is not for you (do the scenic one which takes an average of 40 minutes). But if you want a fun challenge and something different to do and lots of exercise then go for the big one. Fun for all ages but you will be walking around 3 miles (more or less depending on how bad at this you end up being:) )so be prepared for that. We were wearing hiking boots and had a water bottle. They design a new maze every year. They give you a punch card and there are punch stations set up throughout the maze, you can tell when you've circled back to the same place again. And when you get to the end there is a map with the punches marked on it so you can roughly trace your route through the maze. There are emergency exits and staff throughout if you need help getting out or if there's any trouble. At points in the maze you can see the hills in the background and it's quite beautiful.

Fun trip, this was my first corn maze, we had a big group and did the scenic course. It was a lot of fun and we were glad there were options. Beautiful place.

Didn't really work for us
Oct 2018 • Family
You definitely need to put aside a lot of time to do this. We gave up after a while, and when we saw the map it looked to us like the objective was placed in a spot we thought we weren't supposed to go, so we never would have found it.

I would agree you should definitely arrive before 1PM if possible.

You may think you'll be cold and you may actually end up pretty hot. They recommend bringing water with you.

Great Outdoor Activity

My husband got to the maze either around 1 pm and all the suggestions to not get there any later are true. Bring a bag with water and some food because you could be in there for 2-3 hours. It’s the best corn maze we’ve done and the staff giving clues don’t detract from the fun at all.

A fantastic experience
Aug 2018 • Couples
This was the first time I'd ever done a corn maze. It was a fun, exciting, and challenging experience. We were given some advice at the beginning, and the owner promised us help if we needed it. I liked that there were staff members available along the way who encouraged us. There was an "emergency route" marked with yellow doors if you absolutely had to get out without finishing the maze. We were able to finish in just under 90 minutes. We went past the kid's area "Pretendin," and it looked very fun. Everything was clean and well-maintained. Highly recommended, and I can't wait to go again.
