Colchester Causeway
Aug 2020 • Couples
This is a beautiful path for walkers, joggers, bikers, strollers and even segways! 4 mile trail (One way) from Airport Park but there is limited closer parking just down the road which shortens the walk/ride by 1.5 mi. It is well maintained, flat and even.

Fabulous bike trail
Aug 2019
While currently under repair and closed, the Colchester Causeway, which can be accessed from Airport Park is a 6-7 mile out and back trail that brings the rider or walker on an old rail trail right across Lake Champlain from Colchester to South Hero in the Champlain Islands when the seasonal bike ferry is running. When flood damage is repaired by spring 2020 the trail will reopen and the ferry will be available again.

Parking to catch the Island Line Rail Trail- biking
Jun 2019 • Family
This park had ample parking, bathrooms and a playground. As well it is a location for a few ball fields, each of which seemed to be hosting games. There was also a smoothie food truck vendor parked there on the day of our visit. The park was clean and the equipment seemed to be in great condition, tho some ppl forgot items of clothing. We used this location to access the rail trail and ride the causeway part- we were informed by a local motion volunteer who was tending to the bike ferry that from Airport park to the ferry was 4miles one way so 8 round trip- which we did. It was nice to have the kids 1 and 3 yrs old be able to play on the playground and use a bathroom and the drink fountain after a nice ride. This park also had a pavilion- used on our visit by the scouts.

Don’t miss the Burlington bike path and Airport Park
Jul 2018 • Family
You can hop on the bike path in Burlington and head via bike, walking or jogging out to Airport park and the lake. The park is a large open space for walking your dog, playing tennis or pickleball, swings and slides, basketball and other sports. If you continue on the bike path beyond the park you will be out on an old railroad bed that’s been converted to the bike path. You will have the bay on one side of you and the open lake on the other. It’s magical! Its’ great for everyone.

Great Trail to walk, run, ski for FREE
Sep 2018 • Friends
Great place to go biking or to walk at no cost. You can walk or bike out to the Causeway Trail and even bring your dog as long as they are on a leash.

During the Winter is a great Cross Country Ski Trail.

During the summer many sports events will be going on in the fields.

Causeway Trail for Bikes and Dogs
Sep 2018 • Friends
The Causeway Trail is alot of fun. The Trail goes straight out into Lake Champlain, only accessible for walking, biking...and dogs. The views are incredible, and it's a great, long trail to get some exercise for you and for your dogs.

park here to access the Causeway trail
Sep 2018 • Couples
This is the closest parking lot to get to the Causeway trail. There are signs pointing the way. There is also restrooms here as well as a small one room schoolhouse museum.
