Having only lived in New Hampshire for 17 month, after moving from Manassas, VA, and having had to spend so much time on home renovations, my wife and I had found little time to pursue my railroad pursuits, including Heritage Railroad Excursions, like this one....More

This tour was a nice fall foliage tour. The train was comfortable and covered about 30 miles round trip. Several cars contained tables you could sit at as a group. The train contained a dining car with basic food available for the first half of...More

This was a nice, scenic train ride through woodlands, past farmlands, and through small villages. We sat in the cafe car and found comfortable lounge seats with easy access to the snack counter. The personnel were very pleasant and we couldn't have come up with...More

We took a fall foliage tour. It was 3 hours long. It was nice to sit and relax and watch the landscape go by. However, the children on the train were a bit out of control. There was lots of yelling, screaming, and running up...More

Had a wonderful late season trip. It was a bit past peak foliage but we went to experience a true train ride without the large crowds.

We booked this trip over the internet while planning a driving trip through New England. I thought it would be a unique experience and it was. We brought jackets and were prepared for weather variations. The afternoon we went it really wasn’t too chilly and...More

We stopped by but the train wasn't running and the day was rainy. I did go into a feed and grain store which was interesting and bought my cat a few things.

Nice train ride up into the mountains. Was nice to see everything and not be the driver. I would recommend this.

Vintage train trips: White River Junction vs Bellows Falls (2 Replies)
Any recommendations please whether to take the White River Junction/White River Flyer ride to Thetford or the Bellows Falls/Green Mountain Flyer ride to Chester. Either more scenic than the other or other comments please? I understand which days of the week they run during fall foliage and that may be a deciding factor depending on the day we are in the area.
