Nice ride in the fall

We purchased tickets online and did enjoy the ride. Nice foliage in October. Don't remember a whole lot because it was last year, but we would return.

We rode this in October from Chester to the ski area near Ludlow. We are train enthusiasts and normally when it is a two hour ride, it's designed for kids and is usually out and back on flat tracks along a river and the train goes about 5 miles per hour. So when we got on board that's what I... More

Our family has done several similar railroad excursions in various parts of the country, and this one was the least impressive of the ones we have been on. Pros: not terribly expensive, easy to get tickets online; Cons: just an average train ride -- billed as a foliage tour, but the views are somewhat limited; also very little to make... More

My husband and I took the foliage dinner train catered by the Chop House. The ride was nice but it does not leave until 6:30 pm meaning the sun is already setting by the time we get on our way making it difficult to enjoy the fall foliage or see much of anything at all. I think even departing 30... More

Two options for rides are available, took the southeastern route. Highlights of the trip include two cover bridges near the tracks. The crews' narration was not very exciting. This was a relaxing and scenic trip, well worth the visit.

The ride was very scenic with nice commentary about local history. Beautiful Autumn views of mountains, church steeples and sheep! Only negative is needing better signage for the train station. Small sign on bottom of pole isn't enough. This is a great tourism draw and should be at the forefront.

Having spent a week driving thru Vermont Foliage, it wasn’t the best scenic train ride but it’s a good trip. It followed the road a lot, especially the road we’d followed getting there from Ludlow, VT. However, the are enough areas where the road doesn’t take you to make it worth while. However, I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re short... More

We did the Chester to Rockingham ride. Very scenic and enjoyable. Foliage was just starting. Saw covered bridges and learned why they were covered.

We rode the Green Mountain Flyer from Chester to Ludlow and back to view the fall foliage. It was a fun experience with a friendly crew. The train ride doesn't offer too many open vistas to view the countryside. Mostly the view is blocked by the trees along the tracks, but it was pretty nevertheless. There is nothing to do... More

Beautiful scenery and a worthwhile trip to get to the railroad station. Staff were friendly and the views spectacular.
