Port Kent to Burlington

Passengers and employees were friendly & the conversations helped pass the time waiting to board. Smooth boat ride and nice views of Lake Champlain.

We took the day narration cruise around the lake. It was fantastic! Although a bit warm and windy, there is narration over the loud speakers so you can learn about the shipwrecks and historical sites around the lake.

Our first time on the ferry. Everything was very relaxed. Only a small ferry which took about 30 mins to cross the lake. We paid $14 for the one way trip (2 adults and a car). It was a very smooth crossing and the time passed quickly looking at the Vermont and New York state scenery.

We really enjoyed taking the ferry across Lake Champlain. The views were fantastic and it saved driving all that extra time around the lake. It was very convenient and accommodations were very nice on the boat. We will certainly think of taking the ferry again when we return to Burlington Vermont.

On a transcontinental road trip, we planned our route to allow us to overnight in Port Kent one evening and catch the morning auto ferry across Lake Champlain to Burlington, Vermont, where we could explore, lunch and then continue on our travels into New England. What a grand decision that routing turned out to be. We crossed on the "Adriondack,"... More

Left from Burlington, Vermont to Port Kent, New York. Arrived at the dock early Sept 10/16. Great morning views of the shipyard and lake. Very serene. Cafe on site but not open for the first crossing of the day. Tickets sold abt 15 minutes prior to boarding. Not expensive at all, $38 for a car and two adults. Ferry seems... More

Great option if you wanna get from Plattsburgh to Vermont quickly and easily. Takes about 1/3 the time of taking the bridge from Rouses Point across. During busy periods they have 4 boats at a time so the wait time is very reasonable, you'll rarely have more than 30 mins from the time you pass the gate until the time... More

we were driving from Maine to Lake Placid and GPS routed us here. I wasn't paying attention and was surprised to see the ferry. It was beautiful and the staff were friendly and efficient. So glad we did this.

This is the way to get across to NY efficiently in the most scenic of setting. We actually used the ferry from Charlotte since it was only about 25mins to get across to NY and we were impressed with how efficient the service was. First of, you line up and pay for the service. Being in VT, it was interesting... More
