We took the ferry from Essex, NY to Burlington, Vermont. It runs every 30 minutes and it’s a short 15 minute ride across the water. It comes out into Charlotte, Vermont just south of Burlington. They now take credit cards.

Very convenient and a quick way to get across Lake Champlain. The cost was very reasonable, for the motorcycle with Trailer and 2 of us was ~$24.50.

This experience was one of the best parts of our recent trip to the northeast. The price was reasonable, the scenery was absolutely beautiful, and the ferry arrived and departed quickly. I would highly recommend this to travelers of all ages

$8 each way from Burlington to Port Kent is a bargain way to see beautiful Lake Champlain. The ferry is clean and well maintained and the overall experience is very enjoyable.

Extra weight means extra fuel. The ferry is quite reasonably priced considering the alternative.

Niagara Falls is like 300 miles from Lake Champlain. Ausable Chasm (very cool!) is close to the Lake Champlain Ferry dock at Port Kent but I don't know about private tour guides in the area.
