We took the ferry from Burlington to Port Kent: easy drive on and off and a much quicker way to get across Lake Champlain. A smart strategy would be to shout this great travel option to the world, I.e. the greater Boston area. See Vermont and NY too! Left on time, moderately priced, and absolutely beautiful on a sunny summer... More

Took the ferry to and from Grand Isle from Plattsburg (family wedding on Grand Isle). The ferry runs about every 15-20 minutes during the busiest part of the day and then about every 20 minutes in the evening. We had a beautiful day to cross and enjoyed watching the sailboats in the early afternoon and then watching the sunset behind... More

I've taken both the Plattsburgh and Essex ferries over the years and they're both great. This weekend we were traveling from Lake Placid to Burlington and decided to take the Essex-Charlotte ferry. As soon as we drove up we got right onto the ferry. The staff were all super nice. The ride itself was great, we had fun walking around... More

We were traveling from Ohio to the North East part of the country and our gps took us to this little gem! It saved quite a bit of driving time, and was a beautiful ride on the water. It was cash only, so fortunately we had that on us to pay for it, as we normally don't carry a lot... More

This a nice leisurely boat ride across the majestic lake Champlain from 3 different ports. We traveled from Port Kent NY, to the King St dock in Burlington VT. The price is very reasonable the ferries run pretty true to schedule, you can't go wrong.

Took a tranquil ferry ride from Burlington, Vermont to Port Kent and saved an 85 mile drive to the Ausable Chasm. The ferry takes about an hour for 13 mile trip but is is peaceful and scenic trip. It cost $8 per adult and $30 for the car.

This was our first time on a motor ferry. It was a pretty straightforward and easy travel onto the ferry from NY and then off into VT. The Plattsburgh to Burlington ferry was about a 20 minute ride. We parked and turned off our vehicle and then got out to check out the ferry. It was a really nice view... More

15 minute ferry ride from north of Burlington, VT to Plattsburgh, NY. Driving on and off of the ferry was very easy and quick. Nice views on Lake Champlain.

Great way to get on the lake without spending a lot; be a passenger on the Charlotte ferry for a 20 minute ride across to NY and back. Pick a gorgeous day, bring the kids and enjoy the ride.
