The ferry ride was a little bit long going both ways but it was a very relaxing and beautiful afternoon! We sat outside the ferry before we boarded and had a couple drinks on the water.

A cold but clear early autumn day - perfect for a trip across Lake Champlain. The boat accommodation is quite comfortable but we preferred to stay on the open deck watching the scenery. Stunning views!.

After a visit to Lake Placid we headed to northern Vermont. With the Port Kent ferry closed for the winter, we opted for the Plattsburg to Grand Isle ferry and found it the perfect way to cross Lake Champlain. We were afraid we would just...More

The people attending the ferries are friendly and knowledgable of surrounding areas. It was a short trip to upstate NY and loved every second!

Be wary of the ferry schedule ... it changes at certain times of day. Overall good - no issues. Reasonable fees.

Took the ferry VT -> NY, it was a nice break from driving and only cost about $35. Takes about 1 hour. Nice scenery. Walked the dogs around to keep them from getting too bored.

Extra weight means extra fuel. The ferry is quite reasonably priced considering the alternative.
