Off the beaten path, these rock formations are wonders to see and experience. About an hour south of Vernal UT with the last 8 miles on some unpaved but well maintained gravel road, the site is remote and no one else around during our visit....More

It is cool to see the formations, but people have toppled many of them. The signs don’t match the formations any more and need to be updated.

Took about an hour to get to Fantasy Canyon from home. It was a beautiful drive with wild horses and diverse landscapes. The canyon itself was much smaller than expected. Dare I even say, cute. The kids enjoyed running up and down the hills and...More

We took a day trip to visit the rock formations and was not disappointed, bring sunblock, bug spray and plenty of fluids as the climate is very hot and dry.

It was a drive out there from Vernal, but worth the drive. The hoodoos are amazing and safe for the kids to climb on.

We went to Vernal to see Dinosaur national Monument. We did. The next day we had to be back in Salt Lake City. We were casting about for something to do in the morning before leaving. We happened on a travelogue broadcast on the TV...More

We stumbled upon this place by reading a sign in town and so we decided to check it out. The drive in to fantasy canyon was on a dirt road (I think there was another option? But we just followed the signs we saw) We...More

After a long drive we finally arrived at Fantasy Canyon. The drive to the canyon was boring, but arriving at this mysterious place was a plesant surprise. The canyon itself isn't big but the sculptures, rocks and all other you can name it was awesome....More

I didn't avail myself of the camping facilities, so I'm not really sure. EITHER Fantasy Canyon or Goblin Valley State Park has a campground and 2 yurts for rent, But I can't remember which one that is.

The walking/hiking is not very far...the entire area is actually fairly small. While hiking up into the formations, following the marked trail, you should definitely look at where you are placing your feet and hands... More
