This guy sticks out in Vernal, but is not exactly the reason you go to Vernal. Instead of stopping here, go directly to Dinosaur National Monument and Fantasy Canyon. Also the drive north on US-191 to Flaming Gorge is beautiful.

What a nice welcome to the town! Makes me smile every time I see it. I really enjoyed the town of Vernal, it's very quaint and welcoming.

I love funky The town mascot of Vernal definitely has plenty of that. This little town has a certain sweetness about it.

What can I say? This dinosaur made me happy. Vernal has a beautiful downtown with flowers and murals and this is a great entrance to the town.

Crazy, but you have to go if your in Vernal or passing through. Is it realist.... 'No', but it's fun to just pull over and take a photo. Check out the giant T'Rex (with hat!) just down the road near the gas station. Silly but...More

Don't miss the photo op with the pink dinosaur. You can park in front of the dinosaur. Be careful that you don't park in the nearby parking lot because they do not want you there.
