- Victor SIdaho Falls, Idaho241 contributionsGreat great venue and performance. The Hale Center was recommenced by a friend at work and rarely have I found that places or things l I’ve up to those recommends. But this was another story the Hale Center lives up to everything we were told about it The building was amazing and the play (Susical) was great and very talented. We can’t wait to go again. Get there early because don’t want to come in late.Visited January 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten January 19, 2020
- Pathfinder546254Chandler, Arizona36 contributionsAmerican in Paris was amazing! My husband and I went to go see "American in Paris" and enjoyed the creative way the theater company put together a production in-the-round as there was not a bad seat in the house for this one. The singing, dancing, music and staging was a sight to behold. Fun date night!Visited February 2019Written January 21, 2020
- MoverbobSandy, Utah97 contributionsOne of the nation's treasuresWe recently saw "Ballroom Dancing" and have tickets for "Bright Star." This first class theatre always stuns with the acting talent and staging. If I were on a visit to the SLC area, I'd make this a must do. Everything is fun, including the wonderful building, the outside waterfalls, art and seating. You can get hearing assist headsets, though the acoustics are great.Visited February 2020Written March 10, 2020
- Dan J1 contributionA Breeding ground for COVID-19 !A breeding ground for COVID-19 ! There is NO social distancing in this theater. Everyone is required to wear a mask, which is good, but you are packed in there like sardines. I wonder how many hundreds of cases of COVID-19 have resulted from people attending a play here. They keep announcing that people need to social distance in the lobby area, but there are so many people that it's impossible to do that. I don't know what government official they paid-off in order to allow this place to pack their theaters to full capacity, but it's ridiculous. The plays and performers are wonderful, but if you are worried in the slightest about the pandemic DON'T GO HERE. It's all about money. They don't care about the safety of their patrons.Visited September 2020Written September 4, 2020
- RaNell SEagle Mountain, Utah44 contributionsBright StarThe Hale center performing arts has amazing shows with two theater options depending on the show. The larger theater is the round witch has setting around the entire stage with a drop out bottom. the other smaller theater is a normal stage/setting. I have seen shows in both and their really is no bad sets in etherVisited March 2020Written March 9, 2020
- Bart C1 contributionTOO LOUD! Don't Waste Your Time And Money And HEARINGIt might have been a good performance except that it was so LOUD that the lyrics were not understandable, but to avoid continued pain and possible ear damage we had to plug our ears, which also made the play not understandable. Our arms were very tired and sore by the end of play. It was a waste of money and time. Don't they have any common sense?Visited March 2023Traveled with friendsWritten March 28, 2023
- Kurt HSalt Lake City, Utah430 contributionsState-of-art in theatreStunningly wonderful theatre in the round (main stage) or jewel job (traditional theatre). We have seen another 3 shows and there isn't a bad show and/or a bad seat. The technology and flywire (staging) is remarkably advanced and exciting to behold. Not a theater goer, except the is the exception due in large part to the combination of talent, staging, technology, singing, choreography, all in an intimate setting.Visited February 2022Written February 19, 2022
- Dream TravelerBoston, Massachusetts2 contributionsWhat a PROFESSIONAL PLACE!This facility is like something of a dream!!! It is really state of the art in actors, front of the house, technical, and audience comfortability. The actors, in my opinion, are more talented than Broadway mega stars, I’ve seen. Can’t wait to go back to this clean, beautiful and professional venue. AMAZING! If you are trying to decide…RUN, they sell out a lot of performances.Visited October 2022Traveled as a coupleWritten October 11, 2022

- Therapistbj2 contributionsSewage smell ruined showWent to a show last night during the second half there was a sewage smell that was so awful that it made my physically sick and it ruined the show. I threw up once I climbed over 15 people to get out of the corner I was seated in and when I called today to ask them to make things right they said they couldn’t do anything. They absolutely could do something they just chose not to. I’m not sick and once I got out of there and into fresh air for a while I was fine. They don’t care about their patrons and won’t make things right for them.Visited June 2021Traveled with friendsWritten June 19, 2021

Casting for Mary Poppins was bad. Mart cant sing. Berr cant dance or sing. Was highly disappointed. Cant stand using TVs for effects. Hint its a play. The gal singing feed the birds out sang everyone. But no birds. Couldn't even fly a kite. Mary finally flew at second half. No wind no special effects no chimneys no Merry go round. Was just bad. Better plays at high schools.
Oh zero social distancing...

Saw Light in the Pizza which was ok. While the facility & parking were quite nice, the acting was overdone and a bit overkill. Seemed like a bunch of BYU students acting. Also snack bar had nothing remotely healthy except water. Will go see shows at Eccles vs this theater

The three of us were looking forward to seeing Titanic at Hales Sandy. Titanic was an epic disappointment on Wednesday March 22, 2023. Show perspective had no depth. We only stayed for the second half believing it had to get better. Nope, should have gone home at intermission. What a waste of time and money.

I find that parking is a joke here at the theater. The parking structure poorly designed, only one way in and out takes 30-45 minutes to exit. And later shows you can't get parking because the earlier show can' get out!

I found this to be case as well. I now park out on the street and it is much easier
Which are considered the “best seats” for center stage?
WWF4G
West Jordan, UT796 contributions
The seats we had were front row on the left (looking at the stage). Honestly, you really can’t go wrong where you sit at the Hale Center Theater. If I went again (and we will) I would sit one or two rows up to be more eye level or even higher for a more varied view. I know the answer is vague, but I’m confident you won’t be disappointed with your visit to the theater. Enjoy.
