I was dropping my kids off at EFY and noticed the museum, so my 9 year old and I decided to check it out. It is great! And It is FREE! We wondered around for about an hour, then we went to the basement for a live animal show. There was a cute BYU student giving the presentation. She showed us a frog, and python and a tarantula. Then we picked up a few things from the gift shop.

When I attended BYU back in the last century, I used to love to hang out at the Bean museum. My favorite place was to lie on the floor underneath the giant grizzly and pretend I was about to be eaten. I found it a very relaxing getaway from the stress of college life. I shared these fond memories with my children, who naturally were eager to relive the joy. So we happen to be in Utah for a visit and decided to stop on by. We took the long way there, stopping at various buildings around campus to see other interesting sights. I guess my cross-campus sight-seeing tour was too much fun because at some point during our walk, my son threw himself on the ground crying, "The only thing that can make me happy is to see dead animals!" Fortunately the Bean museum is full of them.
My kids were not disappointed. The Bean museum gets bigger and better every time we go. There is plenty to look at for all ages. If you still aren't convinced, you should know that Studio C (formerly Divine Comedy) once featured the Bean museum and a Hedwig like owl in a music video about Harry Potter.

Took 4 kids under the age of 10. They loved seeing all the stuffed animals. The price is perfect (free). From what I could see parking was not labeled anywhere specifically for the museum, once you go in and ask they will give you a pass so you can park in the lot next to the museum with no fear of a ticket. The staff was kind. Lots to see and learn. If you are there, GO, what do you have to lose, it is free!

Even though the university is a private one, the public is welcome. There are hundreds of animals on exhibit and it's a great place to take the kids for a fun and educational experience.

Love the 'shows' as well as all the information at each display. A great place for field-trips as well as a few moments to learn something you never knew you never knew!

I have visited this Free museum many times. My kids and grand kids have enjoyed seeing the beautiful exhibits. The museum is very kid friendly and will arraign a reptile show where you can hold, pet and "eek" at the live reptiles. fun and educational too.

It’s been years since I have been to this museum and decided to take my son. Very cool animals, so uniquely mounted and displayed. We loved all of the lions! We loved that it was free! We drove down from Salt Lake and only spent about 45 minutes here. I would probably not make the drive again for the time we spent there, but if you are in the area, definitely check it out.

I didn't know what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The taxidermied animals are all very well done. Very unique and had a lot of fun.

Our family enjoyed our visit of this museum during spring break. We attended the afternoon live animal show, which was informative and well done. The incredible collection of taxidermy animals is purely fascinating. The museum is well maintained and meticulously clean.

Visitor parking is free. You just park in the adjacent parking lot, and go in to the front desk to ask for a complimentary parking permit. We would definitely recommend this museum to all families who are visiting the Provo area.

There are many large taxidermy specimens here that are displayed very effectively and with education in mind. Many are in dioramas. Extensive bird collection, butterfly and insect specimens and some interactive educational stops. Definately made with children in mind as well! Very enjoyable.
