We booked a self-guided stay at Castle Peak Yurt for January 2022. One pitfall was that communication leading up to our stay was spotty, and even after several phone calls and follow-up emails, we never received a list of supplies the yurt provided, which would have been handy for shaving down some weight while packing. The yurt itself was well-appointed and cozy, with lots of thought put into providing a safe & comfortable experience for guests. We enjoyed a weekend of ski touring & snowshoeing around the area. On our final morning, there was a miscommunication around checkout time. The Inspired Summit paperwork said 10am, but the guide at our mandatory check-in orientation said that up until noon would be fine. Luckily, we planned to leave by 10am anyway, because at 9:45, as we were wrapping up final dishes and starting to bring our gear outside to head back down, the next group arrived with their guides. Rather than wait at a distance that would make our departure, already in progress, smooth/quick, the guide began moving the clients' gear into the yurt we hadn't yet vacated, depositing ski boots and supplies on top of our items we were trying to move. They then set about splitting wood, which happened to be squarely in the path from the door to the yurt, and where our sled was parked, further complicating and prolonging our exit. It was an unfortunate and frankly unnecessary way to end an otherwise awesome and relaxing few days in the mountains.

I had an awesome mentorship with Sam Crow at Inspired Summit Adventures! It was a great intro into splitboarding and getting familiar with all of my avalanche gear. I would highly recommend a mentorship day prior to attending an Avy 1 course. Sam was very patient, encouraging, and a ton of fun!

Shaun and Weston allow this couple and family of five to enjoy the backcountry ski experience and know that we are all going to come home alive!!! Shaun and Weston have guided us into the Utah wilderness to ski for four years. The 2020/2021 ski season was fraught with bad backcountry avalanche news. This couple new that we would be safe and have a memorable experience with Inspired Summit Adventures. Our three day two night trip to the Uintas did not disappoint. Book a trip with Inspired Summit Adventures and you will not be disappointed, and you will return home with stories to tell for a lifetime.

I don't think I have ever met better people. More importantly, they were damn good at their jobs. Shaun and Weston are so capable and friendly. I had the trip of a lifetime, and got to do some incredible and gorgeous hikes. They are very accommodating to all skill levels, and the rest of their staff is as great as they are. Weston also wrapped my knee every day, which was a huge help for me and allowed me to go on hikes I wasn't sure I could be comfortable on without. Thank you Shaun and Wes!!!!
