My husband and I came with our three kids to the Olympic Park in Park City for the Bobsled experience in August. Yes, it is open in the summer. It is a good idea to book online if possible because they do run out of slots for the Bobsled experience pretty quick.
There are age, height and other health requirements so check those ahead of time as well.
When we arrived we checked in at the front desk to let them know we were here for our Bobsled experience. We had about 30 minutes before the shuttle would arrive to take us up the mountain so we walked around the museum, which has memorabilia from the Winter Olympics held in Park City. There are also displays of famous skiers and athletes from the Park City area.
The shuttle arrived and took the first scheduled group up the mountain. The views are spectacular.
Once at the top you are given a helmet and they explain how you are to seat yourself in the sled. The driver is an experienced bobsledder, which is cool as well as comforting because none of us have ever bobsledded in our lives.
Let me just say what a rush it is. The whole ride lasts less than a minute or two, but we will never forget the experience.
Hearing the roar as you experience the twists and turns of the track was heart pounding fun.
We highly recommend the bobsled experience to those who enjoy roller coasters and thrill seekers in general.

For a free museum about Olympic history, there isn’t much to complain about. This was a great way to kill time before heading to the airport, since we wanted to visit the museum anyway and walking the entire museum (with frequent stops to read all the signs and study all the interesting artifacts) took just one to one and a half hours. There are also a couple of simulators which can be used for a small fee.

Visiting Olympic Park is a must when visiting Park City. My wife and I went while celebrating our 10 year anniversary and it was hands down the most fun activity that we did during our stay. We purchased the gold pass and chose the morning session to beat the heat during the summer. We arrived a few minutes early and were able to watch some of the athletes train and do trick jumps, flips, and aerials into the large training pool. When our session started we headed to left side which consisted of the zip lines, tubbing, and alpine slides. My wife need to warm-up on the smaller zip line before she attempted the big one, but she was instantly hooked and we rode the extreme zip line three times. The longer tubbing run was exhilarating and you go from 10 mph to 40 mph as soon as you go over the crest. The alpine slide was fun and is great for younger kids. We highly recommend staying on this side of the park for a majority of your session as the obstacles courses and drop tower were still fun but not at the same level of the other activities.

We also made a great choice and decided to try the bobsled! It was only $40 extra if you already paid for the gold pass. (I actually paid in full for both activities and they refunded me the difference). The Bobsled was an adrenaline junkies dream, both my wife and I were a little nervous about it, but the professional driver navigated the bobsled and we finished the run in 59 seconds. You are going speeds of 60-70mph and coming up on a wall and then all of a sudden you feel the G force as you turn and hug the wall of the track. It was an amazing experience and we were so glad that we did it. It was truly on of the highlights of our trip.

(Not to mention the free museum and the ability to walk around and see where the 2002 Winter Olympics were held.)

Waste of money. I spent $50/person for four people (total $200) for their "Jumpside Pass" that gives you two hours of unlimited access to Extreme Tubing, Extreme Zip, Alpine Slide, Freestyle Zip, and Discovery Course. Lines were so slow that we were only able to do three rides in the two hours! Not a good value for the price at all! This was during COVID as well! I agree with another reviewer that their staff appear that they are not very happy to be there at all and are bordering rude. There are so many other things to do in this area that I would recommend spending your dollars elsewhere.

If you are traveling to the Park City/Salt Lake City area during the warmer, snowless months of the year, check out the Utah Olympic Park. I did not check out any of their winter options or if they even have any. I would assume they have some options to cater to that time of the year. We visited at the end of August, we just missed the opportunity for the bobsled by a week. We purchased a pass to have access to all the areas open at the park - alpine slide, zip lines, challenge course, extreme tubing. My husband and I always look for a fun/adventure type activity on vacations and this fit. There is also a small Olympic museum onsite. They also have a freestyle show at 6pm most nights of the week during the warm months. We were able to watch some of their warm up session since we visited in the afternoon. It looked really cool.

The alpine slide was my favorite. The extreme tubing was intense, but exhilarating. I'm surprised I even did them. The zip wasn't anything special, but still worth a ride. I thought the challenge course was pretty challenging even as an adult.

I would say the park caters to the teenage to young adult crowd most, but all the activities are family friendly. Cost per ticket was on the high end as expected for a popular tourist attraction. Purchase tickets ahead of time on their website. They have busy times of the year - June and July - which sell out days in advance.

We visited here on 7/24/20 and spent a couple of hours exploring the park. We did not do any of the outdoor or adventure items, so this review deals with the museums and areas around them.
We thought the best part was watching the people ski jump either into the pool or into the large air bags.
There are two museums. one on the first floor which is OK, the first half is about the people in their hall of fame and the first ski jumper in the area, the second half deals with the snow. ski equipment over the years and some notable skiers. The second half was more interesting than the first.
On the second floor, the museum is about the winter Olympics held in Utah and it's interesting.
There are bathrooms on both floors and a gift shop on the first floor as you enter the building.
Note: if you buy something in the gift shop there is no gift shop checkout. You need to get in the same line as everyone buying one of the adventure/outdoor experiences and wait your turn, so expect a 15 to 30 min. wait. Be sure you really want what ever it is you buy.
Covid 19
The people flow on the first floor is generally one way making social distancing easier, masks are required but that rule isn't enforced, still the compliance rate was 90 on/10 off. Overall, Covid precautions were OK

Utah Olympic Park is absolute waste of a true gem. Our experience was extremely poor management, unhappy and inadequately trained staff as well as several potential safety issues related to the adventures operated. In addition, property does not seem to be maintained well.

Numerous guest around the entire park asked staff questions regarding the facility, majority of staff did not have the knowledge to give guidance. Safety issues included a poorly trained attendant and possible gear issues at the zip line / drop tower, attendant did not know how to secure the zip line harness and actually mentioned that ”…the harness fit did not need to be perfect…”. Drop tower attendant extended her foot beyond the tower platform to capture the winch cables versus having a hook type device to safely snag the cable. Many of the tubes on the slides had broken handles, attendants were not concerned.

With this said, we complained to the supervisors, left early, would not return and sad to say would not recommend Utah Olympic Park.

We bought the gold passes before we left home (there is a limit on the number sold). Once we arrived at the park, we took time to watch the skiers practicing their flips and stunts as they went down the jump and landed in the pool. Amazing!

Then we joined the line to get the bracelet for the events. The park was very crowded and the waits were long but it was a lot of fun. Part of our group bought gold passes for another day, but this time they arrived a little before 9:30, lined up immediately to get their bracelet, and immediately joined the lines for the zip line (which they had missed on the earlier excursion due to the long wait).

Everyone had a great time as there were many choices of things to do, but I can see how someone would get frustrated with the long lines.

Very disappointing experience this week. Over $60 per person for only 2 hours at the park- spent most of the time waiting in lines...only went on alpine slide twice and extreme zip once- spent about 1 hr 50 min in lines. What a waste of time and money. Normally $60 per person for the whole day...now highway robbery.

It was a great place to visit in park city. Some of the free things to do are the best. It is amazing to watch people do ski jumps into a pool or to jump off a diving platform that tops out at 27 meters or 90 feet. My wife wanted to do the bobsled, be sure and make reservations in advance, $80 in the summer and like $180 in the winter. Be sure and check the weather as it does not run in bad weather. We took the tour. It was good and interesting, but not great. We did learn about the lympic park. Well worth a visit.
