If you are looking for a day of activities and have some $$$ to spend, I would choose Dear Valley Resort over Olympic Village. There is just more things to do as well as, the day lift pass (summer) give access to many more lifts.

The summer bike park is awesome. Trails are clearly marked and people are friendly. The mid mountain food is overpriced. $8 for a hotdog and $5.5 for a drink.

Love, love the dinner buffet! The ski runs are awesome and well kept if you are wanting to snowboard, this is not the place for you. Snowboarding is not allowed.

We took the free bus transportation to Deer Valley. We took the elevator to St. Regis for cocktails on the patio. We packed a picnic for the free outdoor concert that evening! The two bands were excellent. Everyone enjoyed the concert!

If you haven't been there before, at the main lift, find a mountain guide and ask for a tour, they will show you all around the mountain areas specifically for your level of skiing. The place is awesome that way.
