It is a little pricey for a lift ticket but it is a great place to ski. We try and get a family ski day here every year.

I've been skiing this resort for more than 10 years and sincerely believe it's second to none....anywhere! The runs are always groomed, they limit the daily tickets so the chairlift lines are minimal and there's warming huts and places for meals/snacks everywhere. Highly recommended for...More

I love Deer Valley for both Summer and Winter activities. In the Winter, Deer Valley is known for their great groomed runs, no snowboards, and short (if at all) lift lines. But they also offer amazing, steep cruising runs, and steep chutes for the more...More

If you are looking for a day of activities and have some $$$ to spend, I would choose Dear Valley Resort over Olympic Village. There is just more things to do as well as, the day lift pass (summer) give access to many more lifts.

The summer bike park is awesome. Trails are clearly marked and people are friendly. The mid mountain food is overpriced. $8 for a hotdog and $5.5 for a drink.

Still Decent Skiing (3 Replies)
Well, hasn't been a banner year but was out for a few hours today at Deer Valley Resort in Park City and must say, it was great skiing. There was plenty of snow and surface conditions were very good if you made good common sense decisions on run selection. Temps were in the 40s under clear skies. Last night was definitely a bit colder. Key is to pick your time - letting it warm up a bit in the morning, but finishing before it gets too warm in afternoon. We skied 11-1:30. Suspect 10-1 is...More

I was up there yesterday as well and would have to agree. Still some fun skiing and I love not having to bundle up. Different set of snow conditions to play around with. And there is a window of time on groomed north facing slopes where the snow softens up to a creamy surface that is really fun to ski.

Military rate for Deer Valley Resort (1 Replies)
The DVR website lists a military discount full day lift ticket for $89 vs full day adult ticket price of $135. The website says this applies to “active, reserve, honorably discharged and retired U.S. military personnel and their spouses.” Can anyone confirm that they actually provide the discount to honorably discharged personnel?

Well, if it says that then you can expect they'll do it. If you really want to confirm it maybe best to call the resort. Have fun.

4- 5 hour driving tour suggestions around SLC (8 Replies)
My 10-year old daughter and I will be arriving at SLC Airport on the morning of Feb 6th and looking to take a quick tour of the SLC area before heading to Deer Valley that evening to meet up with a group of friends for a few days of skiing. It's been 20 years since I've been to the area and my daughter has never been. I'd like for her to see some local sights prior to heading off to Deer Valley resort where we'll be staying. I'd like for her to get a sense of the area, not just the ski...More
