6 Hour Horse Ride and never ridden before - Good idea?

YES! I traveled with my daughter and this was our dream having watched John Wayne films with her when she was little. Now she is 30, owns her own horse and can ride - I however... read more

YES! I traveled with my daughter and this was our dream having watched John Wayne films with her when she was little. Now she is 30, owns her own horse and can ride - I however have never been on a horse for longer than an hour when I was younger. So this was a dream that a Dad wanted... More

I'll admit I was a bit skittish when my partner booked a horseback tour in beautiful Monument Valley. I had driven the 17-mile scenic drive 25 years earlier and was impressed then, but I agreed with her that the real way to see this place was with a guide and not through a windshield. I hadn't been on a horse... More

The experience was a bucket list for me and their pricing was in line with other. Unfortunately their horses are completely worn out. I have horses in Kentucky and none of my animals would very be in that kind of condition. But the experience and the ability to ride in the valley where 100's of Westerns were shot. And as... More

We were attracted by the yellow Jeeps on the parking lot of the View hotel and decided to use this group. Our guide, Leroy, was superb and the visit highlight occurred when he played the flute and sung for us in a natural amphiteather. He shared his passion for the land and gave us great insight on the local culture... More

We stumbled across Sacred Monument Tours in the View Hotel parking lot, and we found the tour prices comparable to other tour operators in the lot. We booked a nearly 3-hour tour, sight unseen, with this yellow jeep company, and we were not disappointed. From start to finish the driver, Karna, gave us insight into the Navajo culture and life... We spent two faboulous hours discovering Monument Valley riding a Mustang horse. Dustin, our Navajo guide, explained us the story of the Valley and the people who have lived there. He told us the names of the rocks and their story. He gave us some historical details but also some fun facts about movies. And finally he let us galoping... More

My husband and I booked the 2 hour horse ride. My husband is a beginner (I've ridden before) so he was given a very slow & docile horse which was fine, apart from the fact that the one they gave me was best pals with his and the guide told me that if I trotted or galloped, Stephen's would take... There are so many bad things that I could say about this tour, but for the sake of time I'll stick to the highlights. Or lowlights. There are quite a few of those. We decided that a horseback tour of Monument Valley would be a wonderful way to celebrate our 25th anniversary, so we called to make a reservation (for... More

We enjoyed our three hour Mystery Valley tour with Byron. It was just the two of us and we didn't see anyone else on the trip. Mystery Valley was a few miles from Monument Valley and you need a guide. We saw ancient drawings and buildings as well as beautiful scenery and an off road experience. At one point Byron... More

Just back from a 2 week trip through the American Southwest. One of the highlights was Monument Valley, in particular the 3 hour horseback ride that ended at sunset. Totally awesome way to experience this beautiful place. Our guide Mita, a young Navajo woman, was so friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks Mita for the great ride! She answered questions, spoke about...
