Omg - one of my favorite hikes ever!!! The terrain change and views, excitement and isolation. Feels like you are on another planet. Amazing.

So Many Beautiful Things to See
Oct 2019
This is a beautiful hike with twists and turns, ups and downs, and different scenery around every bend. We hiked in October when the temps. were lower and were still hot with almost everyone running out of water towards the end. Bring lots of water! Bring lunch or snacks! Definitely take the time to do this hike if you're in the area, it's stunning.

Interesting terrain and can be combined with a visit to Moab.

We made this area a part of our 2700 mile, five state dual sport motorcycle ride and found it to be an interesting terrain, different from other areas, and can be combined with a visit to Moab.

Must do hike
Apr 2019 • Couples
Absolutely a five star hike with fabulous vistas at every turn. Not a steep hike. More of a level hike with ups and downs as you wend your way through rock structures. Lots of variety. Best advice--take plenty of water, start early. Also, the drive to the trailhead is great. better than advertised.

I have hiked all over the country including all the parks in Ytah and this hike is the best. As others suggest bring lots of water.

Mystery and hiking rolled together
Oct 2018 • Couples
This loop should make everyone’s top 10 lifetime hikes. The 6 mile loop is challenging yet inviting. My wife and I are fit 70 year olds that love the outdoors. The trail offers awesome views with some scrambling as well as some “hunting for cairns”. The arrival at Chesler Park is rewarding and exciting. The 30 mile drive to the Needles visitor center is perfect. The 3 mile drive to Elephant Hill is enough to get the blood going. Nuf said.

Superb hike!
Oct 2018 • Family
This is one of my top five hikes of all time! We did this hike in October when it was nice and cool. We hiked from the Elephant Hill Trailhead to Chesler Park, did the Loop through the Joint Trail, turned down through Elephant Canyon, and then back to the trailhead. Every time we turned a corner, we saw new and different terrain. It's almost as if a bunch of engineers came in and built a trail with an amusement park in mind. There was even a picnic table just before we got to the Joint trail where we could conveniently and peacefully enjoy our lunch. Fairly strenuous, but definitely worth it!

Bring Water
Jul 2018 • Friends
Bring Lots of Water. If you do the 10 mile round trip hike you need to know there are no services along the trail. Bring Lots of Water. Get up early. Get hiking early. Bring Lots of Water. Think about how much water you think you will need and then multiply it times 5. Bring Lots of Water. Please, people. Bring Lots of Water. Go early. Do not hike in the heat of the summer days. And Bring Lots of Water. Lots.

Nearly killed us, but...

Wow! If at all possible, hike the Chesler Park Loop when visiting the Needles District. Start early, have good maps, and bring lots of water... you'll be glad you did. This is a beautiful hike that is also exhilarating, but be prepared.

Challenging

Amazing scenery, well marked trail with some interesting features such as a 100-feet walk through a very narrow passageway between two immense boulders. Very hot.
