Great stop in a beautiful area. Toilets are at this location. Petroglyphs were beautiful and a nice little history lesson is just before it. Read before viewing.

This was a great setting for petroglyphs. It is very newspaper like drawings. The area has been treated very well by the public. I hope we keep it that way. Plenty of parking, short walk.

We drove to Newspaper Rock on a dreary rainy day. It was on our way to the southern portion of Canyonlands. I am fascinated by petroglyphs, so it was totally worth it to stop here. It is the best collection of well preserved petroglyphs I've...More

A lot of the petroglyphs of the Southwest are either very worn down and difficult to make out or are in inaccessible places. Newspaper Rock is neither of these. You have an opportunity here to see a very large panel of extremely clear designs, some...More

We stopped by to look at Newspaper Rock after spending a couple of days in the Needles. Neat stuff, and worth the stop...especially since it's right next to the road.

I've seen a lot of petroglyphs and pictographs in the southwest, many in remote hard to access locations. This spot is literally right on the southern road into Canyonlands NP (Hwy 211), and is one of the best sites of its kind in the country....More

If you have any inclination to see petroglyphs while you are visiting this part of Utah, this is the place to stop and ponder where we fit in the universe. While the interpretation is a long list of opinions, this site offers you the ability...More

14 miles west of hwy 191 on state highway 211 between Moab and Monticello. It's 100 feet from the road, with signs and parking and vault toilets.
