Short side-trip offering a great memorial to our soldiers, from very early war, up to current. Done with class, excellent views, great photo ops.

Special tribute to veterans

I was amazed at the number of wars included in this memorial starting with the War of 1812. It also included wars fought specifically in the West, as well as the wars fought during my lifetime

Very peaceful atmosphere.

Our veterans deserve more recognition and appreciation for their service

Memorial Hill is a unique geologic feature of the valley. Rising about 200 ft above the surrounding area, it offers a spectacular 360 degree view of the valley. On top of the hill is a memorial to all of the Wasatch County war veterans. (More can be found here: memorialhillrestoration.com). The top can be accessed by a 1 mile long gravel road that spirals upward from River Road to the top. There are also several hiking trails that lead to the top, although they are quite steep. Fireworks are launched from the top of the hill every July 4th starting about 10 pm.

Good view point over the Heber Valley

A gravel road winding around the hill takes you to the summit giving you 360 degree views of the Valley. Once at the top, the plaques of the memorial list the names of fallen soldiers of many wars. Drive slowly or even better: walk to the top!

A great walk/hike to get a great view of Heber and Midway

I love walking here. The views as you circle up the hill are wonderful as is the view from the top. At the top, the city has a memorial to veterans and soldiers from the area. Such a great place to visit in Midway and takes only 1/2-1 hour to experience.

Peaceful, gorgeous monument to America's verterans

Winding up the road to the top of the hill affords greater views of the valley below and the mountains beyond. THere is parking and the areais flat making this a very accessible spot for visitors. Watch a sunset from here and the snow was just starting to stick (October) on some the peaks nearby. The goats and horses were wandering about in the valley below and we got a real sense of the sometimes wild, sometimes calm countryside of Utah.

The top of this hill can be accessed by car, although pedestrians share the road with the cars. At the top of the hill is a memorial to people from the Midway area who died in wars, beginning with World War I. Their name are written on plaques. From the top of the hill, one can see Midway, Heber, and Deer Creek Reservoir. Jordanelle Reservoir is just out of sight.

This memorial to veterans of all services and wars is on top of a hill that affords an unparalleled view of the valley. The road is just wide enough for two cars to pass each other and winds up to the top. And it's almost always wind!
