My son recently moved to Provo, and when I came to visit I booked us a half day guided trip on the Provo to have some fun and get him familiar with his local water. Rocky Mountain outfitters were great to work with and communicated well. Our guide Josh was fantastic - in our morning of fishing, we tied into a dozen fish, and brought at least seven to hand (and our guide mentioned that it was a "tough day"). The guide was mellow, super knowledgeable, and taught me a lot about fishing faster water (has typically been a weak spot in my game). I came home with new techniques and new ideas on how to better read fast water that are already paying off on my local rivers. A good guided trip gets you in to some fish, a great guided trip makes you a better fisherman - this was definitely a great trip. Thanks Josh and RMO for a good morning and for giving my son the fishing bug again!

I surprised my loved one with a two hour ride. She had no idea what we were doing, and was blown away with how awesome the whole experience was. When we arrived we were greeted with enthusiasm and wonderful hosts. I took the opportunity to propose to my loved one and the guide was quick to grab a picture of me down on one knee handing the ring to her.
I had never been on a horse before and the horses were very well behaved. I was very impressed with how the whole experience went and would recommend Rocky Mountain Outfitters to anyone that wants to have an awesome time for a great price. I will definitely be using this service in the future.
Fantastic job!

My son (12) and I had never fished a river before but our guide, Paul, expertly showed us the ropes.
He got us outfitted in the correctly sized boots and waders, then led us to a sweet spot on the Provo river away from the crowd. He taught us how to position ourselves and cast for success and then gave us room to explore. We caught some fish, made some memories in a beautiful environment, and would recommend it to anyone.

Nice people as guides. A few (not many unfortunately, maybe 2-3,quick views) spots to feast your eyes across the vast and beautiful mountains around Sundance. You’re almost exclusively walking your horse through fairly dense woods on narrow trails. So if you’re hoping to see a lot of the snow capped mountains, as we were, the Stewart Falls trail may not meet your expectations. I’ve ridden and tacked horses for over 40 years and the saddle they already had on the horse that they assigned me to was a small ladies or child’s saddle on a very large, docile horse. (I can only guess they intended to assign it to a child since it was so gentle. But they either weren’t paying attention to my size and the saddle they placed on the big horse, or they didn’t want to re-saddle the horse with a more appropriate one. I’m 6’6’ and 240, so if you’re a big person, don’t leave the corral in a saddle that you’re not comfortable in. Make them change it. Again, nice guides, just didn’t go the extra mile in an obviously needed situation with the saddle. Also their website says it’s a two hour ride, the contract latter says 1 1/2 hour, so read the fine print. Hopefully they’ll update the prices and time of the ride on all websites that a customer may be directed to.

WOW! He is absolutely right to ask if needed when you are the customer. This gentleman should however be honest about how he was taken care of. He called and asked about booking a private ride and said the prices were incorrect. I asked him to show me where so I could make sure the links were fixed and the correct prices were posted. I told him I wouldn't charge him for a private ride but would charge our regular rate trying to be accommodating and honoring what he saw. I still don't know where he saw that it says two hours but we are continuing to look and make sure that anyone that links to our site has the correct info on all of our services. He did however know ahead of time and before he booked it with us that it was an hour and half ride. If it was an issue he probably shouldn't have booked in the first place knowing it was an hour and a half ride. Upon arrival his group was upset because other people were there on site also going on a ride. They felt a private ride meant we would close down the rest of the place for them to have their own private experience. His guide, Dennis also did notice the saddle and offered to swap saddles or to swap horses. He's 6'6 its going to be hard to get a saddle to fit perfect and it was not a youth saddle, but they only make stirrups that go so long. Dennis said this was as long as it will go and that they could try swap horses but this gentleman said it was fine. Apparently he wasn't honest with his weight either as it states on our website that we have a 230 lb weight limit not the 240 lbs he is saying he is. 10 minutes into the ride he was complaining that there weren't any vista views. Dennis explained that they were riding to higher elevation with more open views. Mind you it was foggy and the mountains were covered unfortunately so seeing the mountains tops didn't happen. If you take the time to read reviews from the hundreds of others that have been on the Stewart Falls ride I think you will understand how amazing this ride is and the views are pretty spectacular. Our staff does go out of its way to try provide the best experience for all our guests. We hope if any of you reading this review will consider the hundreds of others that have shared their experiences with us and left reviews, might see we try hard to accommodate the best we can. It's unfortunate that we can't satisfy everyone but we will continue to try do the best we can. Happy Trails and heres' to an amazing 2021 season.

My husband and I found Rocky Mountain Outfitters while staying in Park City as they were one of the only groups still offering trail rides in mid November. It ended up being one of the best surprises of our honeymoon! We had the absolute best time horseback riding, mostly due to our amazing trail guide, Dawn. She was bubbly and fun as well as informative. She made our experience so memorable! If we ever find ourselves back up in the area we will for sure be back for more adventures. We highly recommend their horseback trail rides; the views you get are incredible!

Our final big activity at the end of a busy vacation in Park City was driving 45 minutes south to the Sundance Stables of Rocky Mtn. Outfitters. Had three boys with us, the youngest being 12 and all inexperienced riders. I thought the staff did an excellent job in both pre-ride orientation and effectively guiding/ narrating the trip to make it both enjoyable and very safe. We took the 90 minute Stewart Falls ride, and it seemed to be just the right amount of time on the trail. Would recommend and would visit them again.

Our group of 4 (3 adults and 1 minor) purchased the Stewart Falls horseback ride in August 2021. Minors are requried to wear a helmet for safety reasons. They do provide mounting steps to aid in mounting the horse. The staff was friendly and knowledgable; our guide was Brooke. They were prompt and we received the full-length of time we were expecting. Brooke was even kind enough to take a group photo. The Falls were a little trickle due to the drought, but it was still beautiful. We were very happy with our experience.

We tried another outfitter in the area before we found RMO. We just returned from our fifth fly fishing trip with them. We would not be returning customers if we didn’t feel that this company provided us the best experience possible.
Each trip that we have been we have seen new guides. These guys even assigned one guide to my 84 year old father in law to assist him with his stability in the water for an entire half day.
Our most recent trip was with Ryan and one thing that stands out about him was that he was just as excited as me when I landed a large trout.
The guides are a big part of the picture, however you are also fishing in a well known fly fishing area. Trip yesterday was October 10th, and the fall colors surrounded us as we fished quietly (other than some high fives and woops) in a meadow at the foot of the local hills. The equipment offered is good quality, from waders to rods.
5 trips ranging from two people to six. At least five different guides, summer, fall and winter and not a single negative experience. These guys want you to have a great time, and catch fish.

Amazing ride with Kandice!! I’ve never met a guide who can ride almost backwards to effortlessly entertain and guide her guests - while somehow wrangling the string of horses and their untrained riders! Outstanding scenery, well trained and well treated horses, expert wranglers and an easy experience. I generally avoid horses after multiple disagreements with the equine species… but this was a great time and they all work hard to make it that way from beginning to end. We’ll done!
