I surprised my loved one with a two hour ride. She had no idea what we were doing, and was blown away with how awesome the whole experience was. When we arrived we were greeted with enthusiasm and wonderful hosts. I took the opportunity to propose to my loved one and the guide was quick to grab a picture of me down on one knee handing the ring to her.
I had never been on a horse before and the horses were very well behaved. I was very impressed with how the whole experience went and would recommend Rocky Mountain Outfitters to anyone that wants to have an awesome time for a great price. I will definitely be using this service in the future.
Fantastic job!

My husband and I took our son and his friend for the one hour meadow ride. I believe Angie was our guide. The day was beautiful and the route was great. Angie was very knowledgeable and fun as our guide. She entertained all of our questions, especially the kids questions and she kept them involved. I was disappointed that we did not see any bull elk, as earlier rides did. But this has no bearing on our tour. I would recommend to anyone looking for something different to do, especially during the fall season with all of the leaves changing.

We booked the private 2 hour horseback ride to Stewart falls as part of our honeymoon road trip and were so glad we did! It was the most scenic and peaceful ride we had been on. I would recommend the morning option if you are booking during the summer, temperature was perfect when we went. Megan was our guide and she was absolutely amazing - super friendly, knowledgable and made the experience very memorable! She made sure we were comfortable from start to finish. The horses also seemed very well trained and cared for!

Nice people as guides. A few (not many unfortunately, maybe 2-3,quick views) spots to feast your eyes across the vast and beautiful mountains around Sundance. You’re almost exclusively walking your horse through fairly dense woods on narrow trails. So if you’re hoping to see a lot of the snow capped mountains, as we were, the Stewart Falls trail may not meet your expectations. I’ve ridden and tacked horses for over 40 years and the saddle they already had on the horse that they assigned me to was a small ladies or child’s saddle on a very large, docile horse. (I can only guess they intended to assign it to a child since it was so gentle. But they either weren’t paying attention to my size and the saddle they placed on the big horse, or they didn’t want to re-saddle the horse with a more appropriate one. I’m 6’6’ and 240, so if you’re a big person, don’t leave the corral in a saddle that you’re not comfortable in. Make them change it. Again, nice guides, just didn’t go the extra mile in an obviously needed situation with the saddle. Also their website says it’s a two hour ride, the contract latter says 1 1/2 hour, so read the fine print. Hopefully they’ll update the prices and time of the ride on all websites that a customer may be directed to.

WOW! He is absolutely right to ask if needed when you are the customer. This gentleman should however be honest about how he was taken care of. He called and asked about booking a private ride and said the prices were incorrect. I asked him to show me where so I could make sure the links were fixed and the correct prices were posted. I told him I wouldn't charge him for a private ride but would charge our regular rate trying to be accommodating and honoring what he saw. I still don't know where he saw that it says two hours but we are continuing to look and make sure that anyone that links to our site has the correct info on all of our services. He did however know ahead of time and before he booked it with us that it was an hour and half ride. If it was an issue he probably shouldn't have booked in the first place knowing it was an hour and a half ride.
Upon arrival his group was upset because other people were there on site also going on a ride. They felt a private ride meant we would close down the rest of the place for them to have their own private experience. His guide, Dennis also did notice the saddle and offered to swap saddles or to swap horses. He's 6'6 its going to be hard to get a saddle to fit perfect and it was not a youth saddle, but they only make stirrups that go so long. Dennis said this was as long as it will go and that they could try swap horses but this gentleman said it was fine. Apparently he wasn't honest with his weight either as it states on our website that we have a 230 lb weight limit not the 240 lbs he is saying he is.
10 minutes into the ride he was complaining that there weren't any vista views. Dennis explained that they were riding to higher elevation with more open views. Mind you it was foggy and the mountains were covered unfortunately so seeing the mountains tops didn't happen. If you take the time to read reviews from the hundreds of others that have been on the Stewart Falls ride I think you will understand how amazing this ride is and the views are pretty spectacular.
Our staff does go out of its way to try provide the best experience for all our guests. We hope if any of you reading this review will consider the hundreds of others that have shared their experiences with us and left reviews, might see we try hard to accommodate the best we can. It's unfortunate that we can't satisfy everyone but we will continue to try do the best we can. Happy Trails and heres' to an amazing 2021 season.

Our final big activity at the end of a busy vacation in Park City was driving 45 minutes south to the Sundance Stables of Rocky Mtn. Outfitters. Had three boys with us, the youngest being 12 and all inexperienced riders. I thought the staff did an excellent job in both pre-ride orientation and effectively guiding/ narrating the trip to make it both enjoyable and very safe. We took the 90 minute Stewart Falls ride, and it seemed to be just the right amount of time on the trail. Would recommend and would visit them again.

As an occasional horseback rider I enjoyed everything with the Rocky Mountain Outfitters from ease of scheduling our ride through the mountains of Utah. Our guide Dennis was keen on each of the horse's behavior and how the rider was managing through the trail ride making suggestions and giving great information on the how's and why's of the journey.
The staff in whole was great to work with and provided all we needed to feel comfortable in this environment, which for a morning ride was warm, but the best time to visit.
I would love to visit again and possibly take a sunset trip.

We booked the 2 hour horseback riding tour to Stewart Falls on a week day in late September. The fall leaves were spectacular! The weather was perfect. We only had 4 people in our group. The horses were gentle and sure footed and our trail guide Dawn was very nice. They provide helmets for those over 18 who want them. If you are under 18 it is required. It is a trail ride in mountainous terrain so the pace is slow and easy. The stables are not located at the Sundance resort so you need to pay attention to the directions in your written confirmation. We had no trouble finding the stables when following the directions and signage. After our ride, we stopped by The Owl Bar at Sundance Resort. It was a perfect day!

My son (12) and I had never fished a river before but our guide, Paul, expertly showed us the ropes.
He got us outfitted in the correctly sized boots and waders, then led us to a sweet spot on the Provo river away from the crowd. He taught us how to position ourselves and cast for success and then gave us room to explore. We caught some fish, made some memories in a beautiful environment, and would recommend it to anyone.

I spoke to Rocky Mountain Outfitters (RMO) over the phone to confirm that the trip would be a guided trip to FLOAT the Provo River. RMO is more expensive than most other guide outfits. I had nevere fished this area before and the only reason I chose them is because their site offered float trips in this area. They did not provide what was paid for. When I asked the guide about his raft and stopping somewhere along the trip to teach some wade techniques he was confused. I then learned he did not have a raft. The guide did a good job and through no fault of his own was booked by RMO for a rafting trip.

Do u think it might be smart to give us a call and work this out? Any float trip is booked and scheduled through our flyfishing manager, as they aren’t as common and only a couple of our guides do them.
All trips are booked online or by phone so we would know if it was a float or wade trip. If the guide was confused, they said nothing to us and neither did you.
If you’d have reached out to see if there was a mistake we could discuss and see if you were somehow over charged. Float trips do cost about twice as much as a regular half day trip.
It would be pretty simple to call us and get it resolved instead of go to Trip Advisor and complain about a mistake, misunderstanding or whatever. Does that make sense? You’re welcome to call me at (801) 361-6772 to get it figured out.

Nine of our family members, (varying ages), took a trail-ride through the majestic and beautiful area near Stewart Falls, UT with Sundance Stables, operated by Rocky Mountain Outfitters. What a perfect afternoon! The wranglers, Kat and Lauren were exceptional in their expertise, kindness, patience, and friendliness! They put all of us at ease. We loved the serene and scenic ride, and would highly recommend it to groups large and small, adults and appropriately-aged children. Great job!!
