We visited the Ice Castles last night. Wanted to visit on our last trip in Feb 2021 but it was booked so I eagerly waited for tickets to come available and booked for this trip. We drove the 30 minutes from Park City to visit. I will say it was a one of a kind and beautiful man made sculptures. We walked through, took some pictures, stayed around 30 min and left. My family (my husband and I and our 16 year old) thought it was beautiful and definitely cool, but a one time thing. From the website it sounds like there’s a lot going on (Reindeer, hot cocoa, etc.) but we didn’t see this during our visit- not sure if we just missed it. The place was definitely crowded and it seemed those with young kids were really enjoying it! I would say- do it once. It was around $85 for our three on Presidents Day weekend so maybe more than most days but we didn’t feel it was totally worth the price and drive.

Although although the Ice Castles are very pretty this year was somewhat of a letdown. We went the previous two years and have to say it was definitely nicer than it was this year in terms of the sculptures and where you were able to walk. It was very stressful as it was very crowded and we were there for 45 minutes and in the last half of our visit every time I turned around someone around me either didn't have a mask on or it was below their nose or their mouth. Waiting in line for the slide the person behind me had their mask on under his chin. When I was done I went in and spoke to the manager and commented on my experience. I asked why there were not more employees walking around inside the ice castle area enforcing the mask rules- I saw just one person who worked there in the middle of the Ice Castles and I didn't see any other workers other than at the slides and consession area. I asked her why there wasn't more people working and enforcing the mask rule. She didn't really answer the question and told me that the previous day was Martin Luther King day and there was a lot of employees working because they had a lot of people. I responded by saying that since they reached their capacity on Martin Luther King day and they were at their capacity the day after that I was there there should have also been more workers inside and making sure people wore their masks. She also told me that during the recording of the music every three or four songs there is a reminder to wear masks but I told her I didn't even hear it.
So, in summary, this experience was definitely not as enjoyable as in past years and I would NOT recommend if you've seen it before but if you haven't seen it by all means go visit it is pretty but be prepared to have people all around you not following the mask rule!

A wonderful place to bring the family and have some fun. I was on a business trip with a colleague but we still enjoyed visiting. The drive to Midway passing through Deer Park Canton was also very scenic and added to the experience. The price per person is reasonable and does not break the bank and there is no cap on how long you are allowed to stay.
The gift store was very ordinary and we did not try the restaurant on site but the town itself is lit up like christmas (even in Feb)
We went on a weekday so crowd was limited and you are required to book tickets online as they are slightly higher on site and not guaranteed.

We purchased tickets for a Saturday, which are more expensive than weekday. We then received notice the Sunday before that they were closing the site down early so if we still wanted to attend, we would have to go during the coming weekdays. I rescheduled our tickets for Wednesday, which are significantly less expensive than the weekend tickets we purchased, but they refused to give us a refund of the difference. So - they closed the site, forced us to change dates, and then did not refund the difference in ticket price. Very scammy!!

The ice castles are very neat to see in person and definitely worth visiting at least once, especially at night. I can't recommend multiple visits because the admission price is costly (especially for a large family) and it's out of the way. Having said that, I visited twice with my husband (he's "seen it" now) and went a third time to take our children. It's a "magical" place, especially for young children who enjoyed the Frozen movies! They have fun slides and fire shows too. Be sure to dress warm in layers. My first 2 visits were quite cold, while the 3rd was actually warm enough to not have frozen fingers and toes. And if you plan to crawl through caves and go go down slides, you may want snow pants and gloves to stay dry.

I found the "ice castles" to be really disappointing. Ice castles is misleading, more like snow banks with lights behind the snow. There aren't many ice sculptures and they are very small. The nooks created for picture ops all had lines to awkwardly wait in. You can see the whole place in 10 minutes or so. It is small and was busy at 7:00pm on a Wednesday. The slides were not fun. This might be fun if you have children. I won't make this mistake again

Over a year ago, I bought Ice Castles vouchers at a charity fundraiser, but due to such a warm winter, they shut down after 2-3 weeks. I'd been trying to get reservations during those weeks, but it was too booked. I saved my vouchers and this year, in January, we drove to Midway and i talked to a manager to see if they would honor them. She wouldn't. I told her how I'd tried the year before and she coldly told me that wasn't their fault, it was a bad year. I don't see why they couldn't let 6 people with expired vouchers walk through, it's not like we'd be taking anything from the experience of other customers. This year has had plenty of snow and I'm sure the crowds have died down, but they won't honor them. Also, there is no way to call or email to talk to anyone, I had to drive an hour each way. What bad business!

Family activity outside with everyone wearing masks but there was no social distancing. Very crowded. Kids loved it especially the slides. Not very big and thought the ticket cost was overpriced for what was there but it's melting fast in the warm weather, and with covid everyone is trying to make a buck so it's sold out every night. Would do it again.

We first heard about the Ice Castles from a short news report on TV a year ago. No one we knew had ever been there but we decided to take a quick unique getaway from southern Utah to Heber City. We stayed in a hotel in Heber City, & it only took 20 minutes to get to the Ice Castles. They want you to book a reservation in 1/2 hour intervals even though you can stay as long as you like. My husband & I are in the senior citizen age range but we found it magical. So many lights, little hidden caves for kids, slides and a large fountain with changing colors, music & dancing water. It was a delight. Really great for young children to early teens. We stayed for an hour but if we had kids we probably would have stayed longer.

My husband tested positive for COVID and when I contacted them asking if we could reschedule, they said we could but we would have to log into this website which wouldn’t let me make an account for and then they said we would have to pay $10 extra per ticket to make the change and they won’t refund our money either. They were not helpful and were not willing to work with us and our situation. Very disappointed.
