Magical
Mar 2021 • Friends
A magical experience for kids and adults! Beautiful sculptures, with lights, music, slides, and more! It was truly amazing. Although it was a bit crowded, everything flowed smoothly with no long waits. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the cost is very affordable.

Super spreader
Feb 2021 • Couples
Went to Ice Castles tonight in Midway. They make you select a time slot to limit people but when we got there a bit early they just let you in and although they require masks a large amount of people were not wearing them. Didn’t see any staff monitoring the mask requirements, volume of people (it was very crowded) or any social distancing. This was the definition of a super spreader. Health department should shut this thing down. Too bad because it could be a cool event.

Fun but crowded
Feb 2021
Family activity outside with everyone wearing masks but there was no social distancing. Very crowded. Kids loved it especially the slides. Not very big and thought the ticket cost was overpriced for what was there but it's melting fast in the warm weather, and with covid everyone is trying to make a buck so it's sold out every night. Would do it again.

Ice Castles

No words can describe this attraction. I have never seen anything like it. Amazing, beautiful. Be sure and reserve ahead of time. We had a 4:30 time and it was not dark enough to see all of the colors. It was still awesome!

Fun Time but NOT Covid Safe
Jan 2021
We enjoyed the ice castle(s) but it was packed. There were a LOT of people way too close together. Also, during the day you don't see all the beautiful colors - that is for the night but we were told that even more people are crammed in at night.

Terrible company
Jan 2021 • Couples
My husband tested positive for COVID and when I contacted them asking if we could reschedule, they said we could but we would have to log into this website which wouldn’t let me make an account for and then they said we would have to pay $10 extra per ticket to make the change and they won’t refund our money either. They were not helpful and were not willing to work with us and our situation. Very disappointed.

Mixed experience pretty but stressful
Jan 2021 • Friends
Although although the Ice Castles are very pretty this year was somewhat of a letdown. We went the previous two years and have to say it was definitely nicer than it was this year in terms of the sculptures and where you were able to walk. It was very stressful as it was very crowded and we were there for 45 minutes and in the last half of our visit every time I turned around someone around me either didn't have a mask on or it was below their nose or their mouth. Waiting in line for the slide the person behind me had their mask on under his chin. When I was done I went in and spoke to the manager and commented on my experience. I asked why there were not more employees walking around inside the ice castle area enforcing the mask rules- I saw just one person who worked there in the middle of the Ice Castles and I didn't see any other workers other than at the slides and consession area. I asked her why there wasn't more people working and enforcing the mask rule. She didn't really answer the question and told me that the previous day was Martin Luther King day and there was a lot of employees working because they had a lot of people. I responded by saying that since they reached their capacity on Martin Luther King day and they were at their capacity the day after that I was there there should have also been more workers inside and making sure people wore their masks. She also told me that during the recording of the music every three or four songs there is a reminder to wear masks but I told her I didn't even hear it.
So, in summary, this experience was definitely not as enjoyable as in past years and I would NOT recommend if you've seen it before but if you haven't seen it by all means go visit it is pretty but be prepared to have people all around you not following the mask rule!

Unique Experience

Ice Castles was an awesome experience for us and our kids. Our kids really enjoyed wandering through the maze of ice, into the igloos and tunnels and down the ice slides. Definitely recommend!

Great place
Jan 2021
Don't know where the last few reviewers were the Ice Castles were great. First time for my wife and I. We really enjoyed it. Almost all were wearing masks. All having a great time. Something we all need during times like these. We're both over 65 and loved it.

May be interesting with children, not really for adults though.

I was imagining this to be full of sculptures, as well as an actual castle. It really was just a grouping of icicles all put together with a slide in the middle. Additionally the cost of 20$ was ridiculous. If this were free I would maybe recommend to a friend, but the fact it cost 40$ for my wife and I to enter made not worth it at all. Finally, my wife has a trained service dog (not an emotional support animal, a real service dog.) they almost did not allow us to enter and illegally forced us to show them documentation. Hindsight, I should have known is wasn’t worth it when they treated us so poorly.

Go to some place with a few big icicles, bring a colored light and you’ll basically have the same experience for free, without a line.
