This attraction is a bit confusing due to the reviews. It seems there are multiple trails being described in these reviews. ( all of which are probably awesome ).
My fiance and I did a nice short hike called the Squaw Trail. This is located IN Kanab. The trail head is right behind the baseball fields in Jacob Hamblin Park. It is an established trail, so you will see a sign for it in the gravel lot and probably people walking their dogs on it(caution poop).
It travels back into a small canyon type area, and then works its way up to the top. It does provide some nice views of Kanab.
This trail is nice because you do not need much time to do it. Even if you have an hour of daylight left it is worth it.

Beautiful scenery and great exercise. A good bang for your buck. Highly recommend this trail. Takes a couple of hours round trip.

Kanab is lucky to have incredible location at the entry to vermillion cliffs and Grand Staircase Escalante. There are three nearby highly recommended hikes but Squaw Trail is truly not to be missed. It starts near the sports complex in Kanab and consists of numerous switchbacks going up the unbelievably gorgeous colorful cliffs to a high point with the best view of the city.
The information about the Kanab trail heads is best to be obtained in the visitor center on route 89 in town.

Truth: This is a long, boring hike in soft sand that is about 8 miles (in and out). The folks who hired a tour company seemed pretty pleased when they drove by us...again and again and again. Hire a tour guide.
The slot canyon was nice but if I had been accurately informed how far it was before starting, I wouldn't have sacrificed the 5+ hours for this. Also- in case you were considering it, DO NOT drive your Nissan Ultima down the path. There was a very sad and frustrated woman waiting for a tow when we finally made it out.

If you can get down to it well worth a visit, we walked about 3 miles to reach it on a flat sandy path. It is really beautiful and a little strange. Its about a mile from the entrance and return, but then you've got the 3 mile walk back to the car park. But if your fit its not a problem, and definitely worth it.

A few years ago, we went to Antelope Slot Canyons and loved it, but their were so many people there that is diminished the experience. Well there were no other people that these slot canyons and that made it that much better, Dreamland took us and did a great job. I recommend adding the White Wave to it for an even better experience.

I'm a 100% disabled Vietnam veteran that uses walking canes for short slow walks. Where I left the Jeep meant a 1 mile hike into the entrance but the distance was short compared to the visual outcomes. Take the time to hike this slot canyon. Allow 4 hrs if you can get down to the river bottom and more if you have to hike in/out from the parking area off Hwy 89N. We were there on 10/3/16.

This trip with Mike was incredible. He was very kind, open to the questions and knows many things about canyons. The peekaboo canyon was gorgeous. Me and my family were realy amazed. We use a ATV to reach the canyon. Good choices for us !

My wife and I and two friends got caught up in the national parks closure (thanks to the dolts in Congress) during a long planned trip to St George to explore Zion and Bryce. Snow Canyon state park is a must see/do hike if you're staying in St George (avoid the trails in the upper end of the canyon shared with horsemen unless you like slogging moderately steep trails in 5" deep soft sand). We were referred to Cathy Church of Roads End Scenic Tours in Kanab (435-899-9864) to show us features of east Zion via her Jeep on unmarked roads, all requiring 4WD. We hiked a slot canyon to a safe length of about .6 mi., saw lots of wildlife, saw petroglyphs and ancient Indian dwellings, while gaining a geophysical appreciation of the area. She provided a cold lunch and was a very pleasant host. Cost per person for a 6 hour tour was $150. Very worthwhile. St George is a 2 hr 15 min drive from Kanab, so factor that into your day. There are 3 potential routes, one running thru Zion, which will add 10-15 min. to your travel time but with spectacular views (you will need your park pass or be nicked a fee to drive thru - with the park closure, the state highway was open for us but all park facilities were closed).

Nice trail. Not too hard so kids could do it too. A little sunny so bring the sunscreen and water but the views are worth it.
