We just hiked the cave itself, but apparently you can hike the washes/canyons further beyond it.
It was pretty easy to find (Google Maps knows where the entrance is). There's a bit open area to park and the cave entrance is obvious from there. It's a little scramble down a few feet to get into the cave. The cave itself is short and took about 20 mins to walk through, round trip. You can see light at both ends of the tunnel through the entire tunnel, but it does get a bit dark toward the middle (but we were fine without flashlights during midday on a sunny day). There's a lot of graffiti scratches into the walls but the cave is kinda cool.

This was pretty cool. You don't have to hike. You walk from the parking lot and descend about 5 feet (which is really the only hard part). It seemed easy to most kids and adults. You can walk through the tunnel to the other side. It only takes 5 minutes round trip. I do recommend a flashlight or light on your phone for one part so you don't trip it's a little dark on the floor.

This is a great opportunity to get out of your vehicle, stretch your legs, and see something unique. If you have ambulatory issues, you probably won't be able to get into this tunnel. There is a steep climb down at the entrance.
This tunnel was carved out for drainage purposes, but it has a very unique shape and appearance...especially on sunny days. I walked all the way through and continued for the length of the wash on the other side. It ends at a rock wall about .4 of a mile past the tunnel, so it is a short hike.
The tunnel can be very dark and footing uneven. I would bring a flashlight or use your cell phone light.

We arrived as full dark was approaching (~8:30 pm at the end of July) and after a day of heavy rain, so we weren’t sure what the conditions would be like, but decided to try it out anyway.
We were the only ones there and it was completely dry. We had flashlights and were able to walk through the tunnel both ways without any incidents. We actually think it was more enjoyable in the dark, as the little bit of spookiness added to the fun.
Other reviewers have already described it, but I wanted to add that if you’re passing by after dark, it’s still worth a stop.

Roses are red, dirt is brown, let's go #hiking and out of town!
Finally hiked this short and intriguing Belly Of The Dragon trail! Short, dark, man-made tunnel located between Orderville and Kanab, is an adventure that requires no hiking experience at all, our Nana was able to do it so can you!
Drive 16 miles of US-89 north of Kanab, turn left into the dirt path of Barracks Road near East Fork Virgin River and follow the road for 0.25 miles. Stay on the left of the fork and you will see the tunnel’s entrance as you get closer to the parking area. From here, walk towards the entrance on your left and entering the tunnel requires an easy scramble down. Wear good shoes and be careful of the slippery and sandy rocks. Once passed, the walk is easy peasy! The #trail starts out like a key shape that looks like you are walking through a very large intestine of a massive dragon.
The tunnel has light at both ends. You won’t need a flashlight, but be extra careful. We used our phone flashlights to make sure we didn’t slip. The tunnel turns slightly left and then opens up to a narrow wash where we stopped and turned around. If you follow the wash for another mile, it will bring you to a slot canyon, but we didn’t venture that far.

I have driven over top of this 20 times while exploring the area over the years. It is about .7 miles south of Mount Carmel on the right is a gravel road. Easy to drive back and park. There is a small drop off ledge that is easy to navigate. From there head through the tunnel and up the was. Very short hike and if you are headed north or south on 89 it is worth the 30 min to stop

Quick stop on our trip visiting the Kanab Utah area. It is honestly a very short walk through a man made drainage tunnel. It was clean and offered the opportunity for really cool pictures. Would not recommend driving a long distance out of your way for this stop however.

This was our second visit and we'll probably stop there every trip we make. It's like nothing else you've ever been to! It's strange that there is no signage, so you pretty much have to have good GPS or ask a local, as we finally did on a previous visit. You should have at least basic hiking skills as you'll need to climb up and down at the entrance. After that, it's easy.

It's not easy! I'm over 70 but in very good shape, just over 5' tall and have had a knee replacement. I couldn't do it. First, you have to slide down a rock through a crevice and jump down 2'. 😬 Ok, did that. Around the bend, bigger trouble so I bailed and waited there. To get out, you have to hoist yourself up on a ledge which came to my waist. What??? Got the dreaded boost from behind and clawed my way up the rock I had slid down. I don't recommend

This is a fun stop just south of Mt. Carmel Junction. Easy off the highway with a very short hike to the mouth of the tunnel. Great place to explore and for a quick adventure. Going south on Hwy 89, watch for the turnoff about .4 of a mile before the Google maps location. The tunnel goes all the way under the highway. There is a slight drop off at the end of the main path leading into the mouth of the tunnel or you can walk down the hill and around. It is dark in the center of the tunnel so watch your footing in this part or a flashlight is helpful.
