Knowing how to do something expertly and being able to teach it to others requires different skill sets. George has mastered both. He had my teen and young adult children laughing and learning (sons ages 26 and 19, daughter age 16). This is a great way to spend one to several hours. We made an appointment for the day we were traveling from the Grand Canyon to Zion as it was right on the way. My kids really loved their class and it was worth every penny. Our trip just happened to occur at the same time as a heat wave but George had huge fans going and plenty of cold water. He was attentive to safety as well. My children later noted that this was the most unique and enjoyable stop of the trip. Definitely something none of them had done before. Getting to take home a practical item that they made as a reminder of the experience was wonderful too. So glad we found this!

We saw this driving by and it said walk-ins welcome. We have watched Forged in Fire and loved it. This was must do if possible. George was very friendly and took us right away. He is a very knowledgable and patient instructor. We had such a good time and learned something along the way. This is a skill formed over many years, and we both really want to do more of it. If you are near Zion or Bryce National Parks or Kanab, UT I highly recommend finding time and booking a class. One of the best adventures we have had as we travel the country for a year!

The four of us had so much fun. George is a patient and funny guy who can teach someone with no skills how to forge steel into works of art. My wife and I both enjoyed (65 years old) walked away with two unique coat hooks we made ourselves. A great way to spend a couple of hours, learn an historic art and have much fun.

We spent a week in the Kanab area and saw many beautiful sights. However, the most enjoyable thing on our itinerary was this class with George. We loved our morning spent at the forge with George. It was educational and FUN. You learn the basics and have a great time. When you get home you have a great story to tell and you can share your finished product. All were impressed. Our entire group put this at the top of our list.

I brought my two sons in to forge their first knife, and this became the highlight of their trip.

George did an amazing job with them. He is very knowledgeable and patient with the younger first timers. He also had a great sense of humor that kept them inline when their technique would slip.

It was hard work for them but well worth it.

My husband had taken one of George's classes a few years ago. This time he really wanted to forge a knife. At the last minute I decided to give it a try as well. So glad I did! George is a wonderful teacher. I love the way he can teach, motivate and keep the your spirits up. I really appreciate that while learning something new, I also learned safety and techniques. We did this on the last day of our vacation. It was a great way to finish our trip, and making some fantastic memories. Definitely something we will do again!

We had a fantastic time at Blacksmith Adventures in Kanab, Utah. The shop is very convenient and easy to find, right off the highway.

Our teacher was a true professional blacksmith. He was very good at explaining things and breaking the project down into manageable steps, adapted to our novice skill level.

The shop was organized and everything was well set up for the class. The equipment and materials were all prepared when we arrived and we got right to work!

We came home with our completed projects and just couldn’t be more pleased. We’ll definitely book another adventure next time we are in the area.

Friends came to visit. Weather was cold, so we decided to do a fun indoor adventure. George is the best teacher, and we had a wonderful time making bottle openers! We laughed and learned so much in just an hour. I'm so glad Iive here so I can go back.

True! Nothing like cozying up to a forge when it's cold outside. Thank you for the review, for bringing your friends in and we definitely look forward to seeing you in another class soon!

My father-in-law, uncle and myself had made a stop here on our way out from our adventures in Utah. George was a friendly and knowledgeable instructor. We had a blast making our wall decorations and learned so much about the blacksmithing life while waiting for our metal to heat up. I highly recommend stopping by if you are ever in Kanab, Utah.

This was a fabulous experience from beginning to end. We made a bottle opener, learning how to use the tools and the forge and received personalized instruction every step of the way. The session was fun and informative and we liked the work so much we had a personalized sign made for a very reasonable price when we were done. Well worth the time and cost for something uniquely different.
