There is plenty to see and do in the Uintas. We tend to backpack a few trips every summer as well as car camp a few times in the every summer in the Uintas. For more seclusion, get to the hard to reach places. There are a lot of people making their way up there to escape the summer heat.

I live in Itah but had never been to Mirror Lake before. We took a drive to go see our daughter and her family that were camping there. The drive was incredible, so beautiful. The lake itself was just majestic. Was glad I brought a sweatshirt even though it was mid July as it was chilly and rainy. We will... More

The drive was beautiful with lots of scenic views - Mirror Lake was great and has a very easy hiking trail around the lake.

With temperatures over 100 in the valley, My wife and I came up to escape the heat. Temperatures in July in the 60's was amazing. It was crowded, but that's what you expect on the weekends. Still had an amazing time.

While camping in the Smith Morehouse area, we drove up and over to Christmas Meadows. Make sure you take the time to stop and drive thru the many campgrounds and visit the lakes. If you have the time and your poles, dipping your hook will be sure to please.

I love it there!! It is so beautiful. Lots of deer at night and just beautiful scenery during the day from all the surrounding lakes and trees. It gets cold at night though when camping so I recommend wearing extra layers or having extra blankets!(:

We went on a weekend with our children - ages 9 and 11. Nice flat easy hike around the lake and very pretty. It was really crowded and there are no paddle boats or kayaks to rent there. Glad we went but wouldn't go again because it is crowded and not much to do besides short walk around the lake.... More

Highly recommend in a convertible, motorcycle, or car with lots of windows. There are multiple lakes to stop at, lots of trails to hike, campgrounds, etc. pack a lunch or better yet, order lunch to go from the Mirror Lake Diner located in Kamas just before you drive up the canyon.

First, when you start your drive to Mirror Lake, set some time aside to stop at some of the stops along the way. There are so many beautiful stops along the way it's hard to tell you which one to choose. While the lake is truly spectacular, I found a wonderful waterfall stop along the way. In fact you can...
