First, when you start your drive to Mirror Lake, set some time aside to stop at some of the stops along the way. There are so many beautiful stops along the way it's hard to tell you which one to choose. While the lake is truly spectacular, I found a wonderful waterfall stop along the way. In fact you can... Nothing spectacular but quite nice and well worth the time. We did have a little "incident" that was terrific. If you read my review of Antelope Island, you know we were stopped on the road by a crossing herd of bison. Well, there are no bison at mirror lake but, on our way out, the road was quite thoroughly blocked.... More

Drove through from Evanston to Kamas. Take the time to look at the pull outs. There was too much snow and roads were not completely cleared when we passed through at the first of June but what we saw was beautiful!!

Mirror Lake has been a family favorite for 15 years. It's big enough that it's peaceful even when crowded, and offers some of the prettiest views. It's a must for camping and fishing! You need to reserve a camping spot at least 6-8 months in advance. It's a little cold, but definitely worth it!

This is a must! So much to do. Hikes and look out points all over. Gorgeous drive! You can spend the entire day finding things to do. Mirror Lake is beautiful! Take bug spray

Make sure you stop and hike the Provo River Falls! You hike along the river. Not too hard to hike, but lots of rocks to step around and over. There is a short paved section which is nice and easy.

Not quite the trail ridge road experience but still absolutely beautiful. We only went as far as Mirror Lake but well worth the drive. You go up to over 10,000 fee elevation at Mirror lake, dress appropriately!

Went over Memorial Day weekend. Did Guardsman Pass and found it lead to SLC suburbs. Love the drive North out of Sundance through the national forest to Timpanogos Cave Natl Monument. But Mirror Lake Scenic Byway has got to be one of the most dramatic and wondrous drives anywhere in the Rockies. Fully paved, full-width two lane highway through forests... More

This road was not totally open in May. Went as far as we could. Enjoyed a snowy Mother's Day drive. This is a really nice road especially in the summer and fall. Take time and drive this road and enjoy the views. Also stop at Samak Country store. They have some great smoked cheese.
