Mid June but still had snow on the ground at the top. Mirror Lake is a must see. Take it slow and enjoy all the great scenery.

This drive is one of the preeminent scenic drives in all of the Rocky Mountains. Along with Independence Pass in Colorado, and the John D. Rockefeller Parkway along the base of the Tetons, Mirror Lake Highway is what the Rockies are all about!

No cabins in the forest that I know of, but It is less than an hours drive from Park City and about an hour an a half from Salt Lake. There are private cabins in that area but no central rental to my knowledge. My advice is... More

I would allow your self about 2 hrs or so - a little over an hour to just drive straight thru.
