Utah Mountain Bike Tours offers guided tours in Hurricane Utah, on Gooseberry Mesa, Rainbow Rim Trail, Thunder Mountain, Brian Head and other trails in Southern Utah. We offer a private guide service for 2-6 people from one day tours to multi day tours. We also offer ladies-only tours and mountain bike skills camps for riders looking to improve their skills. We also speak German.

Katharina was AWESOME! She kept the ride fun and within riding abilities. Learned some skills today as well as got to see the beautiful area. One of the best adventures! Til next time cause we will have to come back for sure!

Riding guided is a bit of a luxury, but found it totally worthwhile when my husband and I got on the Hurricane area trails with Kathi this fall. The area is new to us and her knowledge of local weather and trail conditions were helpful in planning our outings.(I won't even get into how fabulous and varied the trail system is-that's another review) Being able to follow someone who knows the trails is something I didn't really consider beforehand, but adds hugely to the pleasure of the ride: not stopping to navigate lets the ride flow. At the same time, knowing when it's worth getting off the bike and checking out the trail kept me from getting in over my head.
The best part, and unexpected bonus, is I learned so much. Kathi quickly grasped where our skills were at and tailored rides accordingly. Her great sense of where we would need a little coaching and encouragement or where we were just ready to roll through. All this while riding AHEAD of us (I think she has eyes in the back of her head). This went a long way to improving my skills and confidence, all while keeping it fun and exciting for both me and my spouse who can ride circles around me.
As for nuts and bolts, she provided transportation for us and our bikes which made logistics easy. She he has a great relationship with the local bike shop and we were able to get a few problems straightened out quickly without interrupting our trip much. Kathy also had great suggestions on local amenities and activities.
This was an awesome way to maximize the fun of riding a new area, and getting to be a better rider is a great thing to take home.

Southwest Utah is the third leg of the three leg stoll of Utah Mountain biking. Moab, Park City and Hurricane/St. George. I have ridden all these areas and this is the most beautiful and varied by landscape.
I organized our group of 4 riders (varied experience and fitness) with kathi. She was always willing to adapt and make the ride perfect for us. We rode for 3 days and visited Guacamole Mesa, Thunder Mountain, JEM and Little Creek Mesa...WOW
The combination of Bill and Kathi was perfect. One led and one swept. They prepped us of what to expect and how to handle all the challenges. Bill is the huckster and Kathi is more tentative, but can ride forever...I think she does 500 miles MTB races when she is not guiding!
Not only was the riding perfect, but we just had fun with them. They are a unique couple that we ended up having dinner with two out of the three nights.

Bill and Kathi were the perfect hosts making sure that everything ran smoothly and taking care of us and everything we needed from arriving on the St George shuttle to leaving on the shuttle at the end of our trip. We had debriefs after our rides to ensure that what we had designed was in line with our abilities and goals; making sure that we were aware that everything was flexible and could be altered to better suit our needs. We learnt a lot in the time we spent with them and they ensured that we were achieving what we hoped for. The riding was very varied and the landscape was truly spectacular. I highly recommend mountain biking with Utah Mountain Biking Tours to anyone considering them. A very tailored experience from a very professional and experienced couple.
