We did a group canyoneering excursion in Capitol Reef that was guided by Logan and included rappelling and a slot canyon. Our group ranged from comfortable with canyoneering to “never been”. Logan accommodated the range of experience and made it a really fun, yet challenging, adventure for all of us. I’m afraid of heights and he really talked me through the rappelling and slot canyons to where I felt safe and comfortable. He made sure he was attentive to what I was experiences and making sure to give me extra support and guidance. We had a full day of a variety of experiences - scrambling, hiking, rappelling and slot canyon. Even the more experienced people in our group said it was an amazing experience. We all agreed we got way more than we expected out of the day! I highly recommend this outfitter and Logan as a guide!

Last week 10 of us participated in a Get In The Wild 3 day 2 night Basecamp Adventure. It was an excellent experience. The campsite was large with plenty of tent room. We had a chemical toilet and a shower. There was a cook tent and a large area to set up to eat. Melissa, the chef did a great job on breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. She was able to accommodate 2 vegetarians and one gluten free person. Chris ran a low key but very well organized operation. Our guides, Logan and Stephanie were exceptional. Always safety first. We did 3 canyons that were challenging but doable. We used all our skills and some we didn't know we had. This was a strenuous trip but oh so satisfying. We all would do it again and in fact I'm researching another trip that would be us camping on our own and having the guides meet us at our camp. This is a first class organization.

Hi Mark, Thank you very much for your review. It was certainly a pleasure meeting you and your adventurous group of friends on your 3-day/2-night Canyoneering Basecamp Expedition at Robbers Roost. Basecamp Expeditions are an ideal way to fully immerse yourself in the unique and unexplored wilds of southern Utah’s amazing canyon country. As one of the few wilderness landscapes in the Lower 48 where solitude is protected, basecamp expeditions provide an exciting, unique and fun way to experience this spectacular landscape. On behalf of the whole Get In the Wild team, I’m certainly happy you enjoyed the experience and look forward to getting out in the canyons with you again next fall. Sincerely, Christopher Owner/Lead Guide Get In The Wild

This was our third trip with Christopher and Get in The Wild. Again it did not disappoint. We did the narrows section of Blue John Canyon which is out and back so we got to down climb and up climb the canyon. A little water made it dicy at times but as usual Christopher had everything under control. He really knows what he is doing and that gives you confidence that you as an amateur can do the canyon. I can't say enough good things about Christopher and his operation. He is the best guy to contact if you want to learn about canyoneering while doing it.

10 day road trip packed with activities, and this was the highlight! The Utah canyons are simply amazing, and a canyoneering adventure was the best way to get up close and personal with them. Super fun, exciting, challenging, and rewarding. Christopher provided me with excellent customer service and was extremely helpful and patient while I was working out the details of my plan. Logan, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and made the whole trip seamless. We felt safe and looked after the whole time. Great experience, thanks guys!

My 14 year old son and I just got back from Get In The Wilds 3 day intro to canyoneering course and are still on cloud 9. Christopher is such an amazing and patient teacher. And our other guide Will was so awesome as well. Both have such a calm demeanor and so much knowledge that they share in such a way that it’s easy to understand. What I especially loved about the experience is that they taught us and then let us rely on what we had learned to immediately put into practice techniques to get ourselves safely through the canyons.
What a rush to build our own anchor out of a pile of rocks and then send my son and then myself down a 90 foot rappel. Never once did I feel that we weren’t completely safe. These guys are true professionals and masters in their craft. It is obvious that they love what they do. Their passion for canyoneering radiates through in the way they teach and share and their dedication to safe practices is exactly what I was hoping to get from the course. I will 100% be taking another course from then as soon as we can. This was the experience of a lifetime for us. Thank you Christopher and Will.

Awesome 3 days learning canyoneering. We had a mix of experience in our group, with some climbers/mountaineers and some without any experience rappelling. We learned many different techniques to get safely through a canyon: how to set our own anchors, set-up rappel and belay lines, use handlines, stem narrow areas, climb up rope with prussiks & partner assists down the "easier" slides. Christopher was great and ensured we all felt safe. They were long days, sometimes in the hot sun, so be sure you are somewhat fit and bring lots of water. Rocks tear up clothes really easily - don't think any of us got away without a hole in our pants. Beautiful scenery and overall super days!

We had a great time canyoneering in Hogwarts Canyon. We found the Chamber of Secrets. We met Logan at Hollow Mountain in Hanksville and drove East to the canyon. We hiked up a wash which was quite strenuous. Then we belayed and free dropped down through the canyon. Ten out of ten for Logan as a guide. Ten out of ten for the view of the red rocks.

I have done several guided canyoneering trips with Christopher (owner of Get in the Wild) . They have been some of the greatest experiences of my life. Being able to rappel into a technical slot canyon is an incredible experience. Christopher's experience and knowledge of the canyons is unsurpassed. If you are looking for an adventure and a physical challenge this is it. I love it so much I just booked another trip with them for this spring.

Sept 26 we started out on our journey to Hankville to met up with our Guides Chris and Jen.
We met them and introduced ourselves, snapped a few pictures and we were on our way.
I won't name the canyon Chris took us to. He and Jen got us all fitted with harnesses and helmets and given our lunch to stash away for later. Chris gave us some instruction and we practiced a "rapell" then we were off. We repelled into the canyon and were on our way for the days adventure. Most of us were new to canyoneering and it took us alittle longer than I'm sure others to make our way down canyon. Chris and Jen were so great with this bunch of newbies. Some of us did better than others but we all made it through all the rappells and down climbs. At the end of our canyon we had a visitor, a baby which I am sure was a faded midget rattler. After we all got a look at him we made our way out and took a rest. We started up 1200ft back to our cars. We were a little late and hiked part of the trail in the dark. I can't say enough good things about Chris and Jen. They were so patient and so willing to give us encouragement. They never once tried to hurry us along and we did take several more hours than we and they expected. I will go out with them again in a heart beat. They were the best. Thank you Chris and Jen

Chris is a very pleasant guide, but above all, he is a professional. He is the quintessential leader, which is exactly the quality you need in someone who is leading wilderness adventures. He continuously monitors the participants strengths, abilities and concerns in a non-overbearing and non-intrusive manner, allowing the participant to feel adventurous, yet very safe at the same time.
His goal is to provide an exciting and fun adventure, all within the realm of safe canyoneering.
I have highly recommended him to my family and friends and would ago on an adventure with Chris again in a heartbeat.
