We go here every summer! A Beautiful Lake with plenty to do around it including: swimming, hiking, boating, camping, etc. Great cabins to rent in garden city on the Utah side. Can get busy on the weekend.

*** Spoiler: it's NOT Le Beau's *** Bear Lake is one of the most beautiful, and unique place to visit in Utah. We love coming annually to camp, participate in water sports, eat ice cream and attend the Picklevillie Playhouse. As much as I love...More

Being a fairly new resident of Southern Utah I had never even heard of Bear Lake. I discovered it on my way to Yellowstone National Park. What a surprise to find this enormous, beautiful, blue water lake on the border between Utah and Idaho. The...More

I drove from Logan to Garden City, Utah, ending at Bear Lake. It's a beautiful drive through the mountains--as a flatlander, I had to adjust to driving in the mountains, but I survived. Not only was the journey spectacular, but the destination--Bear Lake--was beautiful. There's...More

We visited Bear Lake for our family reunion. It's a huge lake! Very blue, very beautiful and picturesque and very cold! A great place to bring your boat, there's room for everyone. There are other things to do in the area as well. Be sure...More

We spent several days here camping and fishing. We rented a pontoon from Rendezvous Beach Rentals, which was less busy than the Marina (although I believe you can rent Sailboats there also). Even though there's a "beach", we didn't really see people swim on the...More

Which of the campgrounds of Bear Lake is the best for shade and beauty

We stayed at KOA Garden city. Lots of shade and activities but wouldn't say beauty. It was very clean and well kept and convenient to the city.
Are there specific places where you can have your dog? We are going to camp for 2 nights in a couple weeks with our dog (Cottonwood campground) and I have read a couple things that have said dogs aren't allowed at certain beaches/areas, but I can't seem to find a clear answer. Thank you!
