We were a group with 3 teens. Plan to arrive early to gear up; you can also rent gear at a reasonable rate if you need anything. They provide the helmets and helmet liners. There are portable outhouses to use prior to departure. From there it's just a 15 minute drive to where the snowmobiles are staged. Our guide was awesome; we had a party of 5, two other guides had a party of 9 and there was a 3rd party that went out at the same time; we all took different routes and when we met back up at the staging area the other groups seemed as happy as we were. We did the 3 hour guided ride and it was perfect for us!

We had a blast with Joe from Backcountry Snowmobiling. We did the 2 hour trip and got a great intro into riding and playing on the snowmobiles.

Joe taught us newbies what to do and then gave us the perfect amount of stopping for pix, letting it loose, and pointing out wildlife (moose, elk, bald eagles, golden eagles, and deer).

They have brand new snowmobiles, a great selection of clothing and gear to rent (if needed the price was very low per item), and the perfect location. We purchased a pick-up from Park City and that worked great for 9 of us.

I would definitely recommend Backcountry Snowmobiling and go for a private or longer tour next time. I am hooked!!

It had been at least 10 years since we had gone snowmobiling so we took a trip to Utah just to do it again. We had an absolute blast and highly recommend Backcountry. They are very organized without feeling too structured. The property we explored was stunning and our tour guide, Tucker, was wonderful. He always made us feel safe, encouraged us to have fun, and was prepared to help with clothing issues. We were able to take the 3 hour tour and it’s worth every minute! Dress warmly. If it’s especially cold make sure your clothing has Gore-Tex technology to keep you dry. If you don’t have anything, no worries. Backcountry has everything you’ll need for a small fee. My husband needed boots so we rented them for $3. We stayed in Park City and drove our rental out to the property. Even though there was a snow storm the roads were clear and easy to drive. Make sure you rent a 4x4 if you’re worried about weather. Enjoy! I’m ready to do it again next weekend!

We arranged a private 3 hour tour for 4 sleds just after the new year in 2021. One staff member didn’t have a mask, so we stayed clear. I don’t remember the name of our guide but was not an issue with at the beginning. The first hour or so was fine, except we had to turn around on a very small trail because I guess the trail was not groomed and so narrow not really sure. Then the guide just brought us back to the base ending our tour in 2 hours...even though it was clear that it was a three hour tour (our guide told another guide when she talked to another passing guide on the trail not long after we started) Nothing said of why except “oh yeah....we will refund the last hour” I very disappointed with the professionalism. I doubt I would arrange another tour with them for that reason.

We were most surprised all along the way there, there was very little snow & we were concerned about the ride on such little snow. We were most surprised at just how much snow there was on this large ranch! We arrived a little early and things were a bit crazy in the office trying to get one group out & another finished up. We took our time finding gear & staying out of the way. We had three machines we rented along with two others that came with our group. The guide was careful to make sure we all kept up & no one was left behind, as we did have a few that were more inexperienced who were more careful. Weather was good and machines functioned great. We made a few stops to look at wildlife and take breaks. At the top we were able to free ride in a large meadow. On the way back the sun started to set over the valley mountain and it turned cooler--glad we did the 1:30pm tour rather than the 3:30pm tour!! It was a great experience! The only negative was that the outhouses hadn't been emptied in a while.

Really enjoyed our experience. Our guide, Tucker, was personable and ensured that everyone felt safe and comfortable. The trail is through a beautiful part of Utah. Those in our group who wanted to were able to take advantage of open spaces where they could go faster.

What an amazing experience! I tore my ACL a few weeks before my ski trip, and I was very sad to not be able to ski, so we decided to try snowmobiling for the first time and I am so glad we found Backcountry! We are from Florida, so we wanted to get some good views of the mountains and hoped to see some wildlife. On the ride there we saw countless deer and 3 huge bald eagles! Once there, Joe listened to what we were hoping for and customized our tour. He stopped several times to show us LOTS of elk on the side of mountain, and we even saw a moose through his binoculars. From the vista we could see Idaho and Montana! We did the 3:30 tour and got a bit of a late start, but that turned out great because the sun setting on the mountains was so beautiful. It was very cold on the way back, but Joe always made sure we were comfortable and helped us Floridians out with warmers. They have all the cold weather gear you need for a low rental fee, so don't let that stop you for trying this out. HIGHLY recommend!

This adventure did not disappoint, we had the best time here! The people were friendly and helpful. One member of our party snowmobiled in Utah on a previous trip at another venue and even she said this one was MUCH better! Do yourself a favor, do the 3 hour tour and DON'T go anywhere else! Dan took us out on our tour and he gave us time to ride and time to take in the view and take pictures. He gave us stories, a little history and kept an eye for moose. The ones he found were off in the distance but you could see them. We were more impressed by how he managed to spot them while driving and keeping an eye out for us to make sure we were safe. The next time we go to Utah we're going back...and asking for Dan! :)

We had a group of 5 couples and headed out on a 2 hour ride. Our guide was amazing and allowed us to ride our machines to our abilities, which means we covered a ton of ground and had a real blast. The machines were new Polaris 550’s that topped out around 60 mph which was perfect for the trails and terrain. Backcountry is a great, friendly operation and would highly recommend them!!

Our snow mobile excursion with Backcountry Snowmobiling was the highlight of our week in Park City. Our group of 5 included 2 adults over 50 and 3 adults in their 20's including an autistic adult with limited language ability. Our guide A.J. was fantastic and made our adventure one to remember; pointing out wild game and other points of interest along the trail as well as being the trip photographer and videographer. We traveled well groomed trails into the high country and A.J. took us to several places where we could just cut loose on the snow mobiles and have a great time in a safe atmosphere. We will go back again.
